BR Story on Q • Jan 17, 2019 07:45 PM

Really nice story here on Q. Seems like a great kid who understands and really gets it. Hopefully he can turn his season around and produce at the level he is capable of.

Nothing is easy with this team. They don't even win games at home easily. So I doubt anyone thinks going to Morgantown is going to be a cake walk. As we ave seen this team has no room for error so they better come prepared Saturday afternoon.

Jaylen Fisher Done • Jan 17, 2019 02:57 PM

Damn. The Big 12 as a whole has had some significant injuries this year.

Dedric is really struggling tonight on both ends. Haven’t seen this from him in a while.

Black hole Dave

Poor Silvio • Jan 15, 2019 02:31 AM

@FarmerJayhawk woah! Was that in his article?

Poor Silvio • Jan 14, 2019 07:11 PM

A lot of over reacting going on in here. Wow.

Poor Silvio • Jan 14, 2019 04:38 PM

If I am understanding what Tait wrote it is that KU is now finally admitting a violation occurred, but they feel he has served enough time out and should be reinstated immediately.

I don't want to get my hopes up, but damn SDS would help this team so much!

2019 Professional Update • Jan 14, 2019 04:36 PM

Thanks for posting this. Pretty cool to see all the guys making money somewhere. I saw in the last week or so TRob had a 35 point and 31 rebound game. Sounds like he has been on quite a roll the past two weeks.

@Crimsonorblue22 I did get to go. It was pretty awesome. Can’t wait until next Sunday.

That game was never in doubt. Arrowhead was rocking. What a awesome night.

This is a game that if they want to win the conference they need to win. Big time test for this group.

Ochai • Jan 10, 2019 07:25 PM

@nuleafjhawk Bill calls him Och

Ochai • Jan 10, 2019 02:16 PM

I was very impressed with everything he showed last night, but most of all his poise. The moment was not too big for him and he looked like he had been in that moment thousands of times. I think one thing we can expect from him is that he is going to make the right plays and not turn the ball over too at a alarming rate like the rest of this team. Although, they did better last night besides Vick.

His athleticism is off the charts and I think he can guard 1-4 just like Garret. Having two guys like that is invaluable. You could tell that he was not looking for his shot at all last night which you can understand, but I wonder as the season goes on what his shooting % will look like as he gets / takes more shots. There is no doubt in my mind that Self is going to encourage him to be more aggressive on the offensive side of the ball as he gets more games under his belt.

Like @BeddieKU23 said I am wondering why he even red shirted in the first place. I thought the broadcast last night said something about it not being fair to K.J. as far as his minutes go, but maybe I misunderstood that. Fran mentioned it last night and I have seen other people as well say that he is this teams best long term NBA prospect so it is not like he was going to be here for 4 years. For sure not going to be here 5 years so the RS doesn't make any sense to me.

The only concern I have moving forward as for as Och is concerned is the effect it has on Grimes. I know that Grimes had a little bit of foul trouble last night, but it was clear that Self trusted Och more than Grimes in the late minutes at the end of the game. That's crazy when you think about it as it was his first game. There is no way this team can make a final 4 run without Grimes taking a huge step forward. Maybe that ship has sailed as it doesn't look like he has improved much at all as the season has gone on, but hopefully this new development doesn't hurt his confidence even more.

KU vs TCU chat • Jan 10, 2019 04:07 AM

16 minutes for Grimes and 25 for Och

KU vs TCU chat • Jan 10, 2019 04:01 AM

Only 12 turnovers tonight. Take away Vick and everyone else did much better valuing the ball.

KU vs TCU chat • Jan 10, 2019 03:57 AM

A win is a win in conference play but we needed all of 31 and 14 from Dedric to do it. I’m just not optimistic about this team at all. Hope I am wrong, but I just don’t see it.

So is Grimes cut out of the rotation? He has t played but maybe 10 minutes.

KU vs TCU chat • Jan 10, 2019 03:32 AM

So Och has taken all the majority of Grimes minutes

KU vs TCU chat • Jan 10, 2019 03:30 AM

For as much shit that Marcus gets on offense he flat out plays D and is so active.

KU vs TCU chat • Jan 10, 2019 03:09 AM

Dotson’s lack of a outside shot is why I am not even remotely concerned about him leaving after this year. He adds that then he’s got something.

KU vs TCU chat • Jan 10, 2019 03:04 AM

The lack of Dave I am assuming is because TCU plays 4 guards. Self can’t sit Dedric very much and when he did he went with Mitch in the first half.

Dave will obviously play more in games against teams with 2 bigs. Just going to be a game by game deal with him.

KU vs TCU chat • Jan 10, 2019 02:44 AM

Let’s see if we can close the half on a little run for once

KU vs TCU chat • Jan 10, 2019 02:36 AM

Every 3 we take it feels like it is rushed where as our opponents are getting wide open looks.

Guys just need to be patient and try and slow it down.

KU vs TCU chat • Jan 10, 2019 02:34 AM

Dedric has been struggling from the line lately it sure see,s like to me.

Other Games Tonight • Jan 10, 2019 02:14 AM

Wow. KSU came back from down 21 to beat WVU. Would not want to be on that plane ride home with Huggy Bear!

Les Miles Coaching Staff • Jan 10, 2019 01:50 AM

That is brutal. Damn.

Doke • Jan 08, 2019 08:57 PM

@HighEliteMajor When you shoot 75% from the field its OK to be a black hole.

Adidas Trial & other Plea Deals • Jan 08, 2019 05:29 PM

Jeff Goodman just tweeted that Dewan Hernandez' lawyer expects a final decision from the NCAA sometime next week.

Did SDS hire a attorney or is he just letting the school work for him?

Doke • Jan 08, 2019 04:59 PM

@justanotherfan Couldn't agree more. He never looks to kick the ball back out, and forces every it every single time when he gets the ball in the post.

Doke • Jan 07, 2019 10:12 PM

@BShark I agree. The good news is we get TCU at home and then @ Baylor who is not very good. Hopefully they can find something and build on it in the coming games. Jan 19 @ WVU and then the return game with Iowa St on the 21st loom large.

Poor Silvio • Jan 07, 2019 06:41 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 Bill said the school is working on it everyday, but he is not privy to that information.

Poor Silvio • Jan 07, 2019 06:35 PM

I won't be surprised if SDS leaves and heads overseas like Billy did last year. There is no reason to sit on the bench and wast your time and talents. It is absolutely absurd that it has come to this, but I think SDS needs to at least be considering moving on.

Doke • Jan 07, 2019 06:33 PM

He also said in order for them to burn his RS they would have to make it worth his while. So the fact that they are talking about it makes me think the stress fracture wouldn't be a issue.

@jayballer73 Doesn't make any sense to me. Nevada is still ranked #10 after getting destroyed at New Mexico. I know road conference games are tough, but they were 14-15 point favorites.

Free Chat here. • Jan 07, 2019 05:11 PM

Somehow KU is still ranked #7 in the new AP poll.

7 KU

8 Tech

20 Iowa St.

23 OU

25 TCU

Doke • Jan 07, 2019 04:04 PM

@justanotherfan I think Doke will be able to make a comfortable to a nice living playing overseas. I never really thought he was a NBA player and nothing he has done in his limited time this year suggest he is.

I wouldn't be surprised if he does declare for the draft next year and then end up overseas instead of coming back though. I don't see what he can gain from coming back, and with his injuries he might as well start trying to earn money sooner than later.

Doke • Jan 07, 2019 12:23 AM

This puts the streak in serious jeopardy

Doke • Jan 07, 2019 12:23 AM

Doke • Jan 07, 2019 12:22 AM

Done for the year.

Doke • Jan 06, 2019 01:14 AM

It sounds like they think it was just a bruise and Self was surprised he said he couldn’t go. Self said he didn’t find out he wasn’t going to play until the bus ride to Hilton for the shoot around.

@Crimsonorblue22 only quotes I saw were from Dedric and Bill.

Free Chat here. • Jan 06, 2019 12:55 AM

KU all the way down to #11 in KenPom. After Duke and KU were way out in front of everyone to begin the year KU has been slipping. For good reason.

Free Chat here. • Jan 06, 2019 12:51 AM

I’ve been trying to think of a way to summarize that game and Self in his presser hit the nail on the head. Said they played very “immature”

Said veterans find a way to win. That’s clearly what this team is missing. We got so spoiled with Frank, D Graham, and Svi that as fans we took winning on the road for granted. Those guys were not only unbelievable players, but they bled Crimson and Blue and willed their teams to several wins. This team does not have that, and it is not something you can coach.

Not even good enough to make 1 run. Really bad.
