@Crimsonorblue22 yeah, i wonder if vick would Have had the same issues without Jackson, and its hard to argue Jackson wasnt worth it.
@drgnslayr its hard to tell how its going to shake out. Thinking about some of the BS other high major programs have been through Id say we've had pretty good dudes all in all. I didnt think Vick was troubled after season 1. Not sure there were significant warning signs in his recruitment. Same with Carlton. Also, Giddens was a Roy recruit, and seemed fine after season 1. Its just hard to say how fame and pressure will affect these kids. Tyshawn was a knucklehead and seemed like more trouble than he was worth until a solid second half of senior year.

@Texas-Hawk-10 i appreciate your take on this. Seems like solid reasoning. Braun had his moments but was a black hole for long stretches far too often.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I believe it goes against Bill's MO to not start Braun. When was the last time Self didnt start a perimeter guy who was 3rd year and was a rotation guy previous 2 seasons? I agree JCL seems like the better starter. And these are new uncharted waters with transfers not having to sit. Bill will have to prove himself maybe with giving minutes to JCL or suffer the consequences recruiting transfers going forward. I just think its going to be hard for him.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Gotcha! Ok, now it adds up. Fingers crossed that his rebounding translates to D-1.
@Texas-Hawk-10 it seems like Mitch is a better rotation player than Cam for Selfs system, given his history with the team, and better, albeit not great, defense. We all agree Cams D is likely going to be bad. The only way Cam is a rotation player is if he is a 4 or Self greenlights the 5 bombing and is ok with a gaping hole for interior D.
So whats more likely... That ^... Or Mitch playing rotation minutes?

@jayballer67 yep. I agree. I think big games, maybe not so much, but 8-10 mpg isnt a bad guess average over the season.
@Marco i think mitch will get more minutes than we expect at the 5.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I think the same thing about Cam almost totally :hundred_points: except maybe if we are up by 10 Self can sacrifice defense (yeah right) and let Cam and the other 38% trey guns bomb away with the thought that 3>2. Believe it when i see it, but the option is there.

I will still take Agbaji's language in his letter to the fans as it sounded. Coming back would be a reversal of that language. Not going to presume to know what his decision is based on. Hope.

My vacation has started so apologies for the early sentiment. Loving these dog days of summer. Have been watching some CWS, guys and girls (sucks for NC State!) , a bit of NBA playoffs (go Suns!), a little MLB (boo Girardi and harassing Scherzer for foreign substances mid inning!), a healthy dose of UEFA (Austria controlled that Italy game until OT. Damn shame they didnt pull ot out. Go Denmark!), and a sprinkling of Olympic Trials (holy smokes Gabby Thomas looked fast!). Realizing this year how much of an essential part of my meaning of life a rich backdrop of sports is.
And i cant wait to see the Olympics, as a sign that the world is back baby!
Jacob DeGrom and Shohei Ohtani could both win their respective MVP awards. The last and only time two pitchers won the MVP in the same year was in 1968 when Denny McLain and Bob Gibson won it.
I haven't researched it, but I'd assume that this would be the first time where a pitcher could win the MVP and not the Cy Young in Shohei Ohtani.

@drgnslayr :hundred_points: if you had told me about this year's Baylor team 3 years ago, I would have been absolutely shocked, given how Bill used to own Drew. I used to think that Drew having all the talent in the world, Bill would still run circles around Baylor. Drew and staff clearly has coached these kids up. I look forward to seeing how they match up with Kansas with Bill reloaded on talent.
