@BShark @jayballer67 money matters at Memphis too.
@Raymond0197182 Kenny Gregory! Wow. I had no idea. High flying Kansas boys.
Welcome to the board!
"A boy named Sue" perbowl Champion
@BShark so if we are identifying ourselves as a defensively elite team, which I can buy ( @Texas-Hawk-10 's point) , my gut reaction about Jalen is that he gives us a "different look" but does not fit the core identity of the team. What we gain in 3 pt shooting we lose in foot speed. My assumptions about him may be outdated.
@Texas-Hawk-10 the biggest question to me is "how good of a 3pt shooting team will we be?" The charity stripe won't be nearly the adventure it was with Doke on the floor. However, with Marcus on ball, unless he got a lot sharper from 3, the D can sag off and help. Yes, we will be good driving the ball, but good defenses can probably stifle our scoring, and since 3>2, with a bad tourney draw, could still amount to an early exit.
@daswiz you've had OAD reboots every year for a decade and have one title in 2012 to show for it. How much of an affinity can you really feel for players you only know for a year?
You're right about Embiid. As much as he was an enjoyable OAD, we hardly knew him and didnt even get to see him in a NCAA tournament. Do you brag about Enes Kanters pro career too? What a joy he was having him on your practice squad for a year, amirite?
How great was it to have future NBA all Stars John Wall, Eric Bledsoe and Demarcus Cousins on one team (!) lead you to a loss in the Elite 8?
The truth is, neither of our teams have won a title in roughly a decade. But at least we got to enjoy our players and see them grow at Kansas. Sorry you have been deprived of the same opportunity. It's one of the most enjoyable things
about being a fan.
@mayjay he already blamed it on a police officer or army person that Hope Hicks (?) probably allowed to get too close I think.
@FarmerJayhawk I hope you're right. But I see a guy who has nothing to lose and would try to stay in power, just to see what would happen. I don't think he gives a rats ass about his legacy, or being beloved. That ship has sailed and he knows it. I'd see him doing any sort of atrocity he could get away with.
@FarmerJayhawk you don't think Trump would seize power and commit genocide if he could?
It's playing with fire, trying to be civil with a ruthless self serving barbarian with influence over a large part of the masses. If people had done the right thing and removed him or not supported him in the first place, we wouldn't be here.
No equivalency.
@FarmerJayhawk Your enemy isnt a despicable despot that forces you to compromise your morals. Lucky you!
@jayballer67 If I were to see this in Judeo-Christian terms, my God would be a vengeful Old Testament God. May Trump be struck down 200 thousand times over. May the wheel of reincarnation return him to dust and let him try again in his next life as a humble mosquito, that he might absolve some negative karma. May the yang catch up with his life of yin and grant him a release from this life in balance.
But religion aside, in more practical terms, I just want him to go away and not have any more influence by the least destructive means necessary.
@BShark Wow.
You know, I enjoyed watching the depths of soullessness explored by the actors on Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Is that how you sympathize with this guy? Imagine, as does he, that he's still an actor and there are no real consequences to his actions?
Split thread from other thread, which was more about the facts about COVID and less about Trump.
@FarmerJayhawk I can't tell your sarcasm level here, but I consider him a threat to humanity, and his handling of Covid a crime against humanity.
You may oppose the death penalty for murderers, but can you understand why those that favor capital punishment do so?
As far as not being any better, please excuse me here, but I think that logic is bunk.
Sic semper tyrannis!
@jayballer67 Your daughter is completely different than Donald Trump, and I hope she's doing ok.
He deserves nothing. But those are my atheist sensibilities. Having sympathy for him is like being sympathetic towards a disease. The extent of my sympathy is not wishing him dead, and that is, to your point, mostly a formality to maintain a sense of decency.
I want that a-hole to lose fair and square and fade away. I don't have any sympathy for him, I don't want others to have any sympathy for him, and I don't want him to die a martyr either.
@BeddieKU23 poker face.
I don't understand how to read this graph. Who decides what 0 is?
@Kcmatt7 exactly. Trump was who everyone knew he was. Biden was what his supporters knew he was.

@FarmerJayhawk :hundred_points: there's no equivalency here.
This is a good old fashioned ass kicking from where I'm sitting.
... To quote Joe Biden after being spoke over for the first 10 minutes of tonight's debate during his time.
It's past time for a hard cut off of the mics during political debates while other people talk.
27% of Americans identify as not religious. 0% of the Supreme Court identifies as not religious. Nothing to see here. Moving right along.
I don't know if anyone mentioned this. Van Pelt did last night. This is the year the other players in the league are going to recognize what the world already knows. https://www.nfl.com/news/top-100-players-patrick-mahomes-at-no-4-let-s-re-rank-the-top-10 β
What a show. I can't believe Lamar Jackson was held to 100 passing yards and one td.
@Hawk69 lol good times :)
@DanR our D is socially distancing from these human petri dishes.
This is brutal

LOL well played.
Huge win for Chris Klieman!
@mayjay we tried the squirt guns. It taught her to get down when she heard the footsteps. Nothing more.

This is gross and bad. Itβs so frustrating that an entire subset of this country refuses to acknowledge the humanity of people who donβt look like them.
This one could be a stain on the Trump administration long after he's dead and rotting in his grave. The facts will come out and history will not be kind.
Thank you all for the information on both sides. I'm trying to keep an open mind. If politics swings to the left as much as it deservedly might, it may not be a bad thing to have a conservative court, assuming they're reasonable, intelligent, compassionate people. I don't know enough about her to know if she's crazy.
Frankly, to your point, I wouldn't want an Evangelical on the court or holding office if that were the only criteria I had to decide on, because I consider the premise of their beliefs to be intolerant, @FarmerJayhawk. Anyone that feels they have to convince me that Jesus is the son of their God and if I don't worship him, I'm going to hell, regardless of how I treat others, seems like someone who might have a natural disposition to put their faith before fairness. I think other denominations tend to be less "my way or the highway". Would have similar concerns about orthodox Judaism.
@FarmerJayhawk does the fun zone make sense? In transitioning to a permanent zone they become more hot? Is this some "eye of the beholder" stuff, because the numbers on this graph feel kinda flimsy if they're all relative. :grinning_face:
@jayballer67 sorry to hear it man. hoping for the best for you guys.
@Hawk69 who are you referring to pretending to be a doctor, Trump? That one is orders of magnitude worse.
Pretending to be Native American or black for personal gain is not great, but :man_shrugging: I think it's a little silly for Krug to identify it as a "violent act". I'd be more inclined to call pretending to be a doctor, leading to loss of life as a violent act.
Thanks @bcjayhawk, I'm good there. Back atcha. Hopefully basketball evokes the old feelings and seems more familiar than strange this year.
Meh. Fake and psycho.
Looking for answers outside of variants on "torture" or "kill". Have a very smart and nice kitten who we call TP for Trash Panda. Shes a dumpster diver and a counter coaster.
You guys are the closest thing I have to anonymous extended family. Happy to do it until we don't want to do it any more.
As is longstanding tradition, the site cert expired, and I just updated it. :thumbs_up:
I guess that's the end of legal abortions.
Well. I hope they're more like Kavenaugh and Gorsuch than Thomas. I'm not going to hope that the Republicans won't ram one through. McConnell has said he would, his Merritt Garland statements be damned.
MVP = Marcus VF---ing PGarrett.
He is the bridge to success from last year. We will be a faster run and gun offense and he'll be the key.
Just think about those 2 minute stretches that happened with increasing frequency where Marcus picked someone, conjured a bucket in transition and then DID IT IMMEDIATELY again.
I, for one, welcome our midrange jumper shooting, spastic defending Big overlord.
And I'm ready for Marvelous Marcus to be the man.
