What are the chances we keep Pooka with Miles coming in?
What if we win this thing? How much would that help Miles on the recruiting trail ?

If anyone told me before season that Vick was gonna have 32 and 33 in back to back games id be thrilled and assume he'd have a huge season.

In 2006-2007 we started the season 5-4, with baby guards. Remember we finished the season with something like 13 straight wins?

@DanR is it me or does Dedric and Dokes spacing inside seem all jacked up? Didn't Dedric cut right behind Doke as he was back to basket? Didnt seem enough space to find him if he wanted to.

We are spoiled having experienced Mr Consistency in Devonte and Frank the last two years, respectively.
Self said Dedric played unathletically and got blocked several times. I wonder what the toughening box for a preseason first team all American looks like.

Asked if he was concerned about Lawson, Self said: “I do worry a little bit. I thought he played very unathletically tonight. He got every shot blocked it seemed like. When they had him pushed off the spot, he shot some marginal shots. Then he had some decent looks that didn’t go in. He had a drive to a layup that he’s got to make. The biggest thing is that he wasn’t engaged tonight. We have got to have him engaged. He’s way too good of a player to have nights like that.
@HighEliteMajor Garrett works in certain situations.
- You're up and you care more about the defensive end to close out (though I hope his .490 FT % from last year is improved. Too early to tell)
- They have someone on fire from the perimeter and you need length to guard that person (do you believe Garrett is our best perimeter defender?)
- Your other guys are all shooting well and Garrett is slashing (though he hasnt been effective enough as a slasher to warrant this role, and this team probably doesn't have enough shooters to ever not need a shooter instead of Garrett)
But generally I agree. I get nervous when Bill is trying to weave in situational guys; come tournament time, that seems a formula for a loss. They can't all be Cole Aldrich.
@JayHawkFanToo I hope so. It's a marathon, both for our success this season and what scouts want to see from him.
@DoubleDD one thing that was great about it is that he expected a challenge and went up shielding the ball, then realized there would be no challenge, so in air he adjusted his grip and utilized his hang time to dunk it after all. I like quick reaction athleticism. LaGerald was WOKE!
Really liked Garrett's dribble drive at 7:47 1st half, creates his own shot, misses, but gets his own rebound and resets.
Dedric couldn't overcome his resting rest face last night.
Speaking of fantasy, I'm deeply split whether Mo Bamba will be able to bust out this year or not. In limited minutes he's showed flashes of brilliance (scoring 15 in back to back games before laying an egg last night), but he's not getting more than about 18 minutes a night, and is foul prone.

@DanR Fran is 4'3 but lifesized 3'9 when he isn't standing on a pot of gold.

@BShark agreed. Slashing Garrett, Vick and Grimes are all capable of getting their shot, or throwing the lob and getting their own rebound on a slash.
We've sped them up on the last 6 or 7 possessions.
