Will Dick score in the second half?

ok...we're a really, really good team.
KJ, Kevin, and Harris are just a menace.
@DanR does feel like we are at B plus while they are at D to D minus.
@Eric-san might go to 20…
Yikes. Not solid on those help rotations.
That was…not pretty.
I was about to say we are unlikely to have a run without Harris but here we are.
KJ helps.
That’s the good Bobby.
Interesting we got zuby before Udeh.
@dylans it’s kind of an automatic call. Him diving resulted in the Indiana player tripping so kind of have to call something.
Certainly his longest stretch of quality play for a bit.
Zuby is gassed.
Ok zuby.
Can’t believe joe didn’t shoot that.
Second one just happens. It’s why that first one just can’t happen.
That early foul on Harris on the backcourt could come back to haunt him.
Joe. What are you doing?
Bobby not flowing with the team.
Gotta finish that.

Bobby can't pass worth a damn *maybe just compared to Harris
Noticed dick on that three almost had a little hitch because he’s used to receiving it directly in that high pocket from Harris. Out point guard spoils the other four. That has been on full display this game.
@drgnslayr The choking specifically is a huge sign of escalation and almost always leads to more serious injuries and/or death without serious interventions. Some intense therapy and rehabilitation are going to be necessary no matter what in this scenario. I don't think he should work as a coach but also don't think he should be banished and ostracized from society as a whole. Especially if substance abuse is in the equation, isolation just intensifies addiction and generally makes people MORE dangerous. Connection is the cure to addiction. Positive relationships are a basic need for all humans (and pets sense that's how they've been bred).
@BShark Wow. There was a lot of buzz that it was the daughter's boyfriend. So that's interesting.
I wonder if Jank got extra points for the range of the three he hit? That thing was DEEP!! It was clearly a message that he’s still ready for the league.
Based on these stats I’d consider benching Harris and starting Jank in his place next game.
Little surprised KJ didn’t get more of a bump.
Sun Studio is good in Memphis.

Classic bucket content here. PHOF!
@rockchalkjayhawk It seems like they are sitting back and letting the other team control the game, but then they strike in an instant and they've been good at finishing when they get the opportunity.
Anyone have two better wins?
Whew boy. Japan counterattack is something! So fast.
@Jethro Landen Lucas has talked on his podcast with his dad about coming back to maybe work the bigs since its such a glaring hole right now.
@BeddieKU23 They looked good the first few games but since then the defense has been playing more to stop the lob than the actual guy with the ball. We've thrown them anyway.
England has put the ball in the net a lot. Spain too. If Portugal wins again they could get the full 9 points which is never a bad sign. That said, it may be Brazil's to lose.
@BShark Exactly, effort isn't the issue. But it might be about WHEN he tries. He goes after rebounds but is almost never in position to get a rebound. This could be a result of him playing outside of the pain on purpose to open up the lane for drives or just not doing his work early enough when the shot goes up or even earlier.
@BShark Who are your favorites to take the whole thing right now?
@drgnslayr Are you saying you don't agree with my proposed starting line up using statistics only? Wow. That hurts.
@drgnslayr This team is definitely experiencing adversity which is good for their development at this point. The loss followed by the injuries really is forcing guys to step it up. We will see who rises to the challenge and that will dictate how the rest of the season goes.
But no one can rise to a challenge until it is presented. This is the fun part!
Based on the numbers, my starters would be Wilson, Dick, Ejiofor, Jank, and Harris. I'd bring Rice in as the first wing off the bench with McCullar getting similar time as a 7th man and use Adams as the first big off the bench. Again, based on the numbers.

My days of doubting Self winning the league are long gone. I don't think we are in any position to win the league currently, but we'll see how this month goes. League play is where Self always finds a way to get the upper hand.
While it is unrealistic to expect any of our current bigs to develop at the same speed or get to the same level as Embiid, with time and effort, most bigs get better at Kansas. I think freshman Doke is a good comparison for Udeh. He doesn't have the same dominating presence on size alone, but his length and athleticism can be special if properly directed.

Really surprised to see Jank as our 4th best player. He'd been so strongly leading in the early games. It just goes to show how razor thin the margin between superstar and walk on really are. Injuries really put him in a tough spot the last few games and missing that 3 was just a critical error that could have long lasting implications for his future stock.
I'm thinking of starting a " don't yank the Jank" fanclub.
Unfortunately, I'm afraid not yanking the Jank is what brought us here. I mean, I'm still a fan, but the numbers now show he is actually only the 4th best player on the team instead of a statistical superstar destined for the league. The numbers still don't lie. With that said, based on the numbers I would still start him next game.

I don't like our starters playing 30 minutes in this game, even with McCullar out. Yesufu doesn't bother me playing those minutes because he had to play multiple roles tonight, but definitely would've preferred Harris and Wilson being around 25 minutes.
It's also concerning that in a game like this, Clemence, Ejiofor, and Udeh played a combined 28 minutes and only took 3 shots. It's looking more and more like tge 5 spot is going to be an even bigger black hole on offense than when Landen Lucas was playing.
Hopefully this was Rice's coming out party and he can be the spark off the bench KU needs, but the 5 spot should be an even bigger concern after tonight's lack of offense behind KJ.
Looked to me the goal was to get rice and joe going and unfortunately the bigs outside of kj just aren’t there yet to allow the game to flow when they are out there.
Seems like it’s been a while since our bigs were this raw.
But of course we complained all last year that Dave was terrible and could never be the five on a truly great team but then he goes and basically dominates the final four. So what do we know?
@jayballer67 none of our bigs seem to have the timing and judgment to know how to both rim protect and rebound. Right now they try to block almost everything but do so in a way that takes them completely out of position for any rebound. Zuby seems like the only one who knows when to start fighting for rebounds as he actually tries to get position when the shot goes up. The rest wait for the shot to hit the rim, then try to fight if they haven’t already flown out of bounds trying to swat it but it’s already too late at that point.
I still think Udeh is the best bet there but he needs some serious practice time and coaching to figure some of those fundamentals out.
Kj plays because he at least doesn’t wreck the flow of the offense and can switch enough to cause some havoc on defense. Plus he always plays his tail off.
Is this three bigs and Jank???
Jank sighting.
