What day? Is this Saturday morning PT?
Believe it or not, my son's first football game of the season is this Saturday.

Ah yeah.. them too!
3 seed in the West. Interesting, given who else is in this region:
Teams we've played:
Gonzaga
Oklahoma
Creighton
Teams we have a grudge with:
Missouri
VCU
Oregon
@Texas-Hawk-10 My takeaway from that game: Big 10 is stacked with talent.
@Kcmatt7 Just curious what that reason would be. Usually it's better to get resolution sooner rather than later.
Texas has everything it needs to win a National Championship. We'll see how the seeding plays out, but they are a very real contender. Their length and athleticism is well beyond most teams in the field.
@Texas-Hawk-10 said in NCAA Tournament - Automatic Bids:
Oregon State held on last night to beat Colorado for the PAC12 title to steal a bid and shrink the bubble and UC Santa Barbara won the Big West title over UC Irvine last night.
Oregon State is a very quiet Big 5 conference champion. Might be a sleeper. They have kids of former professional players and sometimes, that can make a difference.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Don't you think they'll fill the position before the season starts?
Lol.. Now I want to see the letter to Calipari!
@KirkIsMyHinrich Not yet, but I suspect we'll know the details in the next 24 hours - before the bracket is announced.
Some sort of hex on the program. Needs to be broken NOW.
My bracket may have Covid winning it all this year, or at least in my final four.
FWIW: Mark Mangino tweeted "KU should approach Army Deputy AD/COO Mike Harrity.... (He's) a KU grad. He worked in the athletic administration there as well as Notre Dame..."
Big day for this thread ;-)
Matt Tait just tweeted that there is optimism that KU will participate in the tourney. Not a sure thing, but looks better than 50% chance.
There are a lot of questions swirling like "What will the team look like? Who will be ineligible?"
But I just asked Tait if the NCAA will adjust the seeding based on who is eligible and he said "They'll seed on KU's entire body of work & put them where they belong. Win over OU helped. Not playing last night didn't hurt."
@DanR touché
Yah.. but it's easier if we could just call it the UTEP virus.
Not like we'll ever know for sure, but the way things are going, UTEP was the probably the source.
2020-21 brings a whole new meaning to "survive and advance."
On the bright side, Texas did not beat us 3 times in the same season.

I just read that KU BB team is staying in KC to prep for the NCAA tourney. So is the positive player Dave or Tristan? I thought they just stayed in Lawrence due to contact tracing protocols, not a positive test (as of yesterday). Seems like if it was a player in last night's game, we'd definitely be history for the season.
Just weird to not have more details. I'm sure Oklahoma isn't too happy either.
The player that tested positive today, played in last night's game. OU is definitely not happy. They probably go under quarantine as well.
There was some discussion about possible AD candidates as well.. want to cover that here or separate thread?
@Marco said in Big-12 Tourney:
If I were in charge (for the sake of everyone, people need March Madness this year) I would cancel all conference tournaments and start the real dance week after next. Let's face it, other than a few teams that get lucky at the right time, they already know who is in. It is not just Kansas that has positives.
Do you have a list of other teams that have positives? I've only heard of Duke and Kansas.
Just a hunch, but there are probably 2 reasons these cases are happening:
1) The restrictions have been loosening for about 3 weeks.. and the incubation period is 2... So.. math.
2) The testing is now centralized by the conferences and NCAA rather than being administrated by each school. Not sure if there are higher standards or if this just means tests weren't as rigorously conducted...

So far all I've read is that it is someone who played in last night's game.
My guess is that it was Christian Braun. He did not look like himself out there last night. Didn't seem to even consider shooting a 3.
who would you rather face? Texas (beat us twice?) or Tech (beat them twice?)
That's another W
Ok. Jalen making up for the earlier mistakes.
