@jaybate-1.0 less exposure to the shortcomings in their game. Go to UK as a highly ranked hs recruit and get drafted- you don't have to play.
@DoubleDD Care to elaborate? Are you a police officer, truck driver, drug dealer, or parent? All of these jobs require restraint from killing on a daily basis I'm sure...
@Kcmatt7 I agree, but Dorsey sure drafted a lot better than Pioli or Peterson...he did everything better than Pioli.
I hope they can find a better fit that does at least as good of a job as Dorsey.
I live in SW Kansas might as well be Texas here. The KC/Chicago ties go back a long ways and the Midwest culture is similiar. Manhattan and maybe Topeka west and south of Ottawa is definitely more similiar to Texas culture than the Great Lakes. NE Kansas (Lawrence and KC) might have a comparable fit. I don't doubt KU would do well in the Big10 and fit in well for that matter.
I don't think I care for a move though. It starts offsetting what I care about- shutting up obnoxious Texas fans, loudmouth OU fans, insecure/hateful KSU fans, and whiny ISU fans. New rivalries will form, but that takes time and I don't want to wast prime Bill Self years waiting on rivalries to develop. I want to fully enjoy this ride!
You can say that again!
Just keep voting, just keep voting, just keep voting...

Ran across this, some of these numbers are just crazy. the number of days since each Big 12 school has defeated KU in Basketball:
TCU - - - -112 - - - Iowa State - - - -145- - - -WV- - - -156, now it starts getting crazy:- - - - Okla St- - - -527- - - -Real Crazy- - - - OU - - - - 845- - - - Kansas St- - - - 857- - -now just insane - - - - Texas- - - - 1244- - - - BU - - - - 1578- - - -TTU- - - - 3059
These last Three are just off the charts -totally crazy - -just goes to show add whole new definition to the word Dominence lol. -- -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG
if only these wins translated into titles
It did. 13 in a row and counting to be exact.
Obviously some have never stopped a horrible habit before, like smoking. It always seems appealing in the back of your mind, but it's never been good for you. Moments of weakness make it sound good again, but when you wake up in the morning with that horrible taste in your mouth who do you have to blame?
The weak willed will go running back over and over again.
@approxinfinity Too bad there is no merge threads option. Maybe a suggestion for future updates.
Lavar Ball was even too much for fake wrestling. They cut away early and had to issue an apology for his use of racial slang.
Not to mention Bill has the transfers by the short and curlies. No way they can transfer again. No way they can quit on the coach. No way out, except to work hard and succeed or fail of their own merits. No blaming the coach- that's already happened once. Now the players must perform or the issue was them.
@Crimsonorblue22 I did - darn proud of Mason!
@globaljaybird Old KU recruit.
The point is that the worse the economy the more we pay our entertainers to take our minds off of our troubles. Instead of looking for solutions (more education perhaps or more determination) we bury our heads under sand. We turn to many forms of entertainment to distract us from our every day life. It's pretty much what an alchy does or a druggy for that matter. Everyone needs a distraction from time to time, but the amount of pay they earn is a sad indictment upon society.
It's a point I don't care to make time to explain properly. Sorry if you don't get the gist.
I'm ready for the good old times, back when I believed all of KU's players to be of high character.
Man, I'd rather be talking about Mason than Jackson. That dude is a stud and a seemingly great guy.

OK so McDonalds says hey you're prefect for a commercial we want to do. Sign on the dotted line and you get 10 million dollars and $20,000 dollars for every time the commercial is aired. You're going to be like what about the teachers, police officers, and fire fighters?
Really?
Huh?
What?
No. You completely missed my point.
Come visit SW Kansas no threat of rain for a least a week. 100 and sunny most of the week. Low humidity, off and on high winds. It'd be a change...
We pay our entertainers much better than our edumacators...hmm.
On ESPN radio yesterday (I can't remember whom) they said Josh was the most scrutinized pick due to his dumbass mistakes at KU. If he hadn't been considered of high character coming out of High School that he would be majorly penalized.
You earn your reputation, I hope he can clean his back up.
@KCmatt7 This goes to both of our points. Offense alone doesn't win games.
7 best offense of the last 30 years and a playoff flameout due to defense.
- 2003 Kansas City Chiefs
+34.2 percent
This is the one year things came together for the Dick Vermeil-era Chiefs: They went 13-3 because the fantastic offense was paired with the No. 1 special teams (this was the year of Dante Hall) and a defense that improved all the way to 25th. Hey, every bit helps. Priest Holmes led all running backs in both rushing DYAR and success rate, gaining 1,420 yards and 27 touchdowns. He added 74 catches for 690 receiving yards and was second among backs in receiving DYAR, behind Minnesota's Moe Williams, who had a career year. Tony Gonzalez led all tight ends in receiving value, and Trent Green was second in passing value behind Peyton Manning. In the playoffs, Manning and Green famously dueled in a game in which neither team had to punt even once; the Colts won 38-31.
Or
- 2002 Kansas City Chiefs
+35.4 percent
The Chiefs went 8-8 in 2002, but that sure wasn't Priest Holmes' fault. Holmes gained 5.2 yards per carry for 1,615 rushing yards with 21 touchdowns and added 70 catches for 672 yards and another three touchdowns. By total rushing and receiving DYAR, it was the No. 2 running back season of the past 30 years, trailing only Marshall Faulk's 2000 campaign. Of course, the Chiefs had also led the league in rushing DVOA in 2001. The change in 2002? A huge improvement from the passing game, which went from 17th to first in Trent Green's second season with the Chiefs. Much like today's Chiefs, the passing game of the Vermeil-era Chiefs was based more on running backs and a stud tight end rather than star wide receivers, though Eddie Kennison did have 906 yards and averaged 17.1 yards per reception. This was one of the rare years in which Tony Gonzalez didn't lead tight ends in receiving DYAR; he ranked second behind a career year from Billy Miller of the expansion Texans.
Full list.
Good offense with no defense is nearly worthless.
If Josh had done that to my sister I would have got some buddies together and kicked his ass...with baseball bats.
@JayHawkFanToo I thought Christ and Heaps were the first 2 5star players for ku. I'm not 100% sure,, but it seems that Beaty/Hull have KU on an upswing.
@JayHawkFanToo I believe Talib was an over achieving 3 star.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Excuses... They were on a downhill trajectory from 2007 already. We got curb stomped 4 of those 7 games.
I think that highlights just how important "Sparky" was for KU. He was fine and the 'Hawks were 5-0. Reising gets hurt and KU loses their quarterback and 7 in a row. --- I know Todd played those games he just was average to below average as a qb while playing injured. Not the good QB he was while healthy.
What a spectacle! Will the boarish load mouth get his kester kicked? Or will he beat the woman beater? Neither one will get my $100. I'll just read about it later.
Malone and Payton joining Kobe and Shaq on the Lakers is another early "super team". Didn't pan out though.
All I know is KU has sucked since they last had a good qb in Todd Reising. Seems pretty important.

I didn't realize that Markkanen's dad played for Roy at Kansas...
"He is the son of Pekka Markkanen, a former professional basketball player who played basketball at Kansas for one season under Roy Williams"
Yeah, I was crying about it earlier. But in hindsight I don't think he would've been much help. Too little of an inside game for a big guy and KU had enough trey gunners last year.
3atar walkon? He must believe in the program. I like
@Crimsonorblue22 Not me!!!
@jayballer54 soubds like he's going to byu. 😄
It seems to me that recruits add Duke, UK, KU to their lists to get a recruiting bump. If they can convince the ranking systems that Bill is recruiting them they move up.
Also it looks better when I.e. KU signs a football player that was "recruited" by Texas or OU. All the sudden that guys a stud. Real studs incoming next season though. Watch out for KU football it's on an uptick. 2 years away from success.
Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics...even if you win you are still touched.
@approxinfinity Nah, freak accident. His hand got stuck in a jersey. I'd be more worried about the players going against Dok!!!

@kcmatt7 Nah, just mis-spoke. Happens.
@Kcmatt7 I thought maybe I was missing something.
@Kcmatt7 I thought Chris Holtmann was Butler's coach.
Sounds like a done deal:
In all fairness to Trent the defense during the Vermeil years could've used an improvement to get to wet paper sack quality. Give them an even average D and they make deep runs in the post season.
And yes Brady makes the whole offense look better than it is.
@Texas-Hawk-10 You left off the 5 blocks! Makes for a more compelling argument.
Getting pretty silly in here. Amazing how one inciteful comment can set off a thread. Seems both sides have dug in. It's time to stick to talking about KU basketball, Hudy and her accolades/downfalls and not boardrats. Let's not stoop.
@jaybate-1.0 Thought it was weird myself.
If it makes you feel any better my family had a personal discussion.
Dok absolutely destroyed Preston on the block on a play 2/3rds the way thru the video. I hope to see that a lot this season - Dok is what we needed last year.
