@wissox Also why fans don't care about CTE. It's all about winning.
@wrwlumpy It seems as though KSU is stuck 10 years in the past.
@mayjay I believe that is the case in San Fran.
@approxinfinity Stinks to have to spend effort to interpret what is actually happening in the news and sports news. Report the facts, hit us up with a few human interest stories, and let the audience come to their own conclusions. Unfortunately there are agendas that are being pandered to.
@approxinfinity i just thought it was an opinion piece about a piece of 💩 Some people need to be told what to think, but I don't have a problem forming my own opinion after reading an article. I haven't had an opinion forced on me ever. Believe me teachers and employees have tried! I just believe my own eyes and ears a heck of a lot more than anyone else's. Facts remain the facts while opinions and interpretations of the facts constantly change.
Bilas is finally tired of Lavar's schtick.
💩
Politics are killing my sports entertainment here more than on ESPN...
Glad to hear Tyler got this wonderful opportunity!!!
As much as we claim to love our players most really don't care about their well being other than how it affects the team.
People love violence, whether or not you do or approve. There will always be a thrill doing something dangerous. This rush is addictive to some/most/all? There will always be an audience for things such as Football, Boxing, MMA, skateboarding, motocross, Jackass type stunts, Kimbo Slice style street fights, Bum Wars, faces of death, etc... it keeps getting worse...
Doesn't make it right, it just is.
And yet people sign up for the military without millions of dollars to entice them. No way football with it's billions of dollars in income goes away anytime soon. As long as there are hungry people without the intellegence, opportunity, and/or the drive to make their millions elsewhere there will be players. For some it's the only way out of poverty. For others it's a way to get your aggression out legally.
I don't want my boys to play football, but I doubt I could stop my youngest (22 months old). He's aggressive and will need a proper outlet.
@mayjay I just wish the media would turn a blind eye to that man so I don't know every little thing he does as he fades into obscurity.
It's funny usually the people that notice/mention the heat the most are inside mostly. Radio Dj's complaining about the heat crack me up- it's 65 degrees in the office, but it's hotter than hell outside so let's let everyone know! Meanwhile us poor outdoor working slobs just truck on. If you're in it from sunup to sundown it's not too bad. Above 100 you've got to pace yourself a bit as long as it stays under 110. Over 110 it's hard to stay hydrated and be active. Anything in the lower 90s is fantastic!
I absolutely loathe it but soccer is going to be king. Sucks as it is boooooring. Football is waaaaay safer than what the gladiators did! I say let it roll. Hell start sacrificing the losing teams so the brain injuries don't matter. (Joking)
Kicker is there are more concussions in soccer than football. It's the routine every down hits that are the problem in football too much jarring the old noggin around. I don't know if there is a solution or if you just keep sending poor hungry athletes to kill them selves out there for our entertainment. I'm ok with that it's not like dog fighting- they have a choice.
Where Bill was off to rectuing recently- Mayhem:
Wherever you're at is worst, regardless...at least it's been my experience that the heat I hate worst is the heat I'm in. :)

So our post situation is a composed of a seldom used sophomore, a sophomore who played 11 games due to injury, and a freshman.
Let that sink in for a minute
Self needs to pull some magic tricks and find himself another player with size and for depth.
So you're saying KU has tons of experience on Kentucky!
Hurt his trippin' ankle?

Won't be the last injury to a big if recent history has any say
I didn't realize it's 5 on 5. I just thought it was the three KU guys playing.
@kjayhawks He was my wife and my's favorite player from game one. Embiid could've supplanted him for me if he was a 3 year player though. I just loved Mario's we can't possibly lose attitude.
@KCmatt7 Also being average leads to an average life with not a lot of money. Sorry it's the facts of life bud. Sucks that most of us figure this out in our 20s like you apparently are. It's more fun when you're (20 year olds) full of optimism about the future instead of the feeling sorry for yourself. Dig in and do your self a favor don't believe all you read. There is no reason why you can't excede what your parents generation was able to do other than if you set the ceiling to low. Move get a better job after you have experience. You could be making better money in Minneapolis as an accountant. - My accountant friend up there is doing very well, but he has more than a decade of hard work on you and all that experience pays. Put in your time properly and it will pay you in spades. Do nothing to better yourself and the future you painted will come true. Best of luck

I'm not telling us to kill the farmer. I just want to use all the farm land we have to grow crops. Spend the $20B buying the overproduction of food and shipping it to feed hungry African's. I don't care. Just don't use it to subsidize and create a fictional price floor. That is a waste of money that is not economical.
Let's at least solve two problems at once. Instead of "solving" the "problem" of overproduction of food. No such thing in a world of 7 billion people.
The US has had a cheap food policy in place for decades. This has kept prices artificially lower. The farmer subsidies are to keep your costs at the store lower. Take the subsidies away and alllow a true free market for food and you may as well be shopping at Whole Foods price wise... CRP acres have been coming out of the program for the last decade or so s the government has cut back on that program and the price of grain has enticed many to put that highly errodable land back into (poor)production.
Most of the $20 billion you speak of in the farm bill is used to pay for school lunches and food stamps. Not exactly the same as feeding starving Africans we're taking care of our own. I'm not sure why that's in the farm bill?
@globaljaybird who wants to be a jock strap?!?
Hopefully Devonte and crew look to Frank for inspiration. Mason made a huge leap Jr to Sr years by busting his ace in the gym all summer long.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Practice (regular season games) is supposed to be harder than the games (NCAA tournament).
1 Mario Chalmers Steal machine. Would destroy the other teams will to play with a :poop: eating grin on his face.
2 Frank Mason NPOY The standard for toughness at KU.
3 Thomas Robinson Carried KU to a title game. We all felt for him during his losses.
4 Darnell Jackson Gotta love his toughness and hustle.
5 Wayne Simien Only player other than Mason to avg 20 points under Self. Automatic at the free throw line. Best scoring most polished big Self has ever had.

Kaun went to Russia and ended up in Cleveland for one last uneventful season.
Kaun got a ring. James has never won without a Jayhawk on the roster.
@Texas-Hawk-10 That used to be OSU (other ff/ee team) then it was Texas, then it was supposed to be ISU, but Hoiberg left. Maybe Huggins can get it going and be that team. They sure have KU's number in Morgan town...and I hate it.
KU usually has a nice non-con schedule, but how many of the good teams are true road games? They are almost exclusively neutral court or at Allen Fieldhouse. I'd like to see KU play more hard road non-con games. Bill is clearly comfortable playing on the road in conference and needs to go outside of his comfort zone. I think putting the team and Bill in more difficult environments will help prepare for the elite eight better. Like in 2011, that team came back so often there was no room for a pucker factor in the elite eight.
@BShark ? No KU offer? Looks like he made a big jump in the rankings. His timeline says he decommited from Arkansas before he committed to Arkansas? But I assume he's available.
@approxinfinity That seems to prove
Trump is entertaining if nothing else. I personally cut cable a couple of years ago and don't miss it one bit. Esp. all the manufactured news. As an added bonus the print paper doesn't yell at me every 8 minutes to buy something I don't need. (Not a big commercial fan) :)
New super team!!!!
The reason for my excitement about the upcoming season.
Son of a coach. Carved out a nice career. It'd be nice to see him around Larryville more.
@Crimsonorblue22 That definitely helps!
Preston looks taller and a little bigger than I thought.
No more scheduling all the hard games at home or on neutral courts to manipulate the RPI to our favor. No more taking advantage of the best home court advantage in sports to artificially inflate KU's seed. Maybe KU will play more to their seed if seeded properly. Maybe KU will become a better team by being forced to play higher quality opponents on the road. Or maybe nothing will change.
@approxinfinity If you want all Americans to get along you need a powerful enemy threatening our safety. When things are too good we tear ourselves apart...Win 13 straight conference championships but only one National Championship and one other final four in that run....fire the coach. Win 2-3 in a row and flame out in the tourney every stinking year...cry when that coach leaves... smh
@DoubleDD Lightfoot has energy, but Jackson could actually play basketball and had the size to intimidate. If Lightfoot beat on his chest like that he may crush his rib cage.
I've never seen ball movement out of KU like in '08. I hope to see it again soon!
If Fr. Preston could be anywhere near as good as So. Arthur we will enjoy a nice season. IF Doke can man the paint it will free things up for the guards this season, but that '08 team was longer, faster, and played very well together. The defensive tandem of Chalmers and Robinson was killer. I'd hate to have to bring the ball up the court against them, I don't think Newman and Graham can match that....and I didn't bring up the best defensive player on the court- a true lockdown wing defender BRush.
I truly hope this team can live up to expectations, but Perry's Sr. Year was the year KU should've won it. I'm just not going to be overly optimistic until I see them play. Big 12 Champs, Final Four or bust!

@JayHawkFanToo Wouldn't you think they'd put it on ESPN News or something? Much of it was overblown (like Bill Murray, whose Cubs segment went on and on like 1976 SNL skits), but the Eunice Shriver Arthur Ashe award and the Perseverance award kid were pretty amazing. Way too much Peyton, tho. (Durant seemed to agree.)
Peyton bashing Durant made my night. Hilarious. "The US women's gymnastics team was so dominant that Kevin Durant wanted to join..." lol
:poop:
Wow! Aaron Judge is a stud! 6'8" 280lbs that's a lot of baseball player. 4 hrs over 500 ft. Won with 2 minutes + bonus time remaining. 2 hrs waved off because he hit the roof. And he seems to be a stand up guy. Too bad he's a Yankee!
Who reads Breitbart? Any propaganda site will surely mislead you. The problem is they are all (Breitbart, CNBC, MSN, FOZ)pushing an agenda. You just have to figure out what's real and what's manufactured. I wish the "news" sites would just report the facts and leave their opinion out of it, but that's not going to happen.
@BShark What will we complain about if only realistic recruits are listed? Makes the recruiting embargo talk more interesting if all the top 10 guys are listed.
He has an ugly shot, but it goes in as long as he's not on the free throw stripe.
The Madden gods have screwed me over too many times to trust a computer to be fair.
I would like a video ref with a direct line to the head ref on the court- with the ability to call fouls in live action.
