Bruce is not worth the ink.
Dooobie doobie dooo... :penguin:
Highlights-
Mason:
Players who helped their draft stock on Friday
Frank Mason, PG, Sr., Kansas
He's not very big, but man does he play big. Mason showed off all the toughness, athleticism and motor he played with all year for Kansas on the way to 21 points, three rebounds and three assists on Friday. Every scout I spoke with was confident he'd get drafted. It won't likely be in the first round, but Mason should be on an NBA roster next year and has a chance to be special.
Svi:
A few others -- including BYU's Eric Mika, North Carolina State's Omer Yurtseven and Kansas' Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk -- run the risk of even going undrafted, though all three players have international ties (Mika served a LDS mission in Italy and Yurtseven and Mykhailiuk both have foreign passports) and that helps make them solid draft-and-stash options.
Three-quarter court sprint slowest scores: Svi Mykhailiuk (3.53), Kennedy Meeks (3.5), Tyler Lydon (3.46), Justin Patton (3.46) and Omer Yurtseven (3.45)
Hosmer is hitting .403 with a .581 slugging percentage, six extra-base hits and 10 RBI in his past 16 games. He has raised his batting average 97 points from .192 to .289 in that span.
Rumor is Svi won't be able to continue in the combine, but doesn't want to withdraw from the draft. So that doesn't look good for a return to KU.
If he hadn't called its very likely there would be no punishment for the crime. At least he did that. I wonder how many residents heard the commotion and did nothing?
@jaybate-1.0 it was a joke. Bragg went to ASU. He'll enjoy it. It's a huge party school. Tempe is fun. Kinda surprised he picked AZ it's medicinal opt only there, I figured CO would suit him better.
@JayHawkFanToo Jimney, he's old enough to be Svi's Dad.
I was having a conversation with an OSU grad about the Big12 bball coaches. I posited that Bruce was a pretty good X's and O's coach, but couldn't recruit. A KSU grad (his four boys are KSU grads also) piped up and said, his coaching decisions late in games cost KSU at least 3 games last year. I don't watch KSU unless they are playing KU so I really don't know, but his own fan base is blasting him and pissed he won those last two games allowing him to retain his job. The OSU guy thought that's where Underwood would end up at next year, so his very early exit was only a mild surprise.
In a nutshell KU could use a better coach at KSU if they want pushed harder. I miss Hoiberg he was pushing Self to be better. Bruce never will push Self that hard.
Best seats are definitely at home on your own couch. Has a nice free seat back and access to cold beer. On the down side you have to work a little harder to get felt up.
Classy poop.
@justanotherfan There were guns in Lawrence before the conceal carry law. Seems like an over-reaction.
Besides if I wanted to kill someone at a football stadium I wouldn't bring a gun. A chemical agent dispersed by a drone would be far more effective and make it difficult to pin down a motive.
5 star transfers have three years college experience, two in the system. 5 star OADs have 9 months in the system. Usually no summer workouts either. So there are some advantages. Team cohesion will be better and hopefully the plays wont be as vanilla as last season incorporating oad Josh.
My concern about Frank in the nba is he may already be near his ceiling. Effort won't be an issue for him, it's physical limitations.

Still no Svi in this mock draft put together on May 4. Time will tell.
Devonte can't and shouldn't try to be Frank Mason. He just needs to be the best Devonte Graham he can.

The new concealed and carry law kicks in the first of July of this year and colleges are no longer able to ban guns except under specific circumstances as I indicated. It will be a whole new ballgame.
I see your post now. It didn't show up before i replied for some reason.
@JayHawkFanToo Guns have been banned at WSU, KU, and KSU at sporting events. It happened earlier and at the state level I believe.
And that's the twentieth ranked class in the nation, not the big 12!
I hope I don't have to wait another thirty years for the Royals to be good again.
85/100 threes wow. Svi always has shot well in practice.
@JayHawkFanToo oops just saw your post. Great minds...
@Crimsonorblue22 yes, but that's a positive.
A few wackos have made it hell for the rest of us to safely congregate. Gotta Take your shoes off to fly, get frisked at every sporting event, etc. You rarely get freedoms back that have been taken from you by the government.
I hate to see seat pads/ seat backs on the list. It's hard enough to get people in the stands.
KANSAS ATHLETICS TO IMPLEMENT CLEAR-BAG POLICY FOR ENTRY INTO ATHLETICS EVENTS
To provide a safe environment for the public and significantly expedite fan entry into Memorial Stadium and all of our athletics venues, Kansas Athletics will implement a clear-bag policy this year that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into sporting events.
Kansas Athletics strongly encourages fans to not bring any type of bag to KU sporting events. To expedite entry there will be express lanes designated for fans without bags.
Beginning with the fall sports in 2017, the following style and size bag, package, or container will be allowed in the gates at Kansas Athletics events:
Bags that are clear, plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
One gallon clear plastic freezer bag (like a Ziploc)
Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without handle or strap, may be taken into the venue (canβt be larger than 5.5" x 8.5").
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection by a supervisor at the gate.
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
Purses larger than a clutch bag
Coolers
Briefcases
Backpacks
Fanny packs
Cinch bags
Seatbacks / cushions
Luggage of any kind
Computer bags and camera bags
Any bag larger than the required size
@jayballer54 Other than Porter playing for the empty seats in Mizzou not many. You're right KUs football rep proceeds it and needs to be changed to get more recruits to even consider Kansas.
Over 3.5 wins for a successful year?
...or they'd be Yankees with fat contracts the Royals can't match.

@approxinfinity I don't remember who posted their Texas Ranch pics- it wasn't me.
Statsmachine?
I don't think it's so dire. Throw out UK because they turn their roster over every year and it skews the #s. In the last 5 years Duke has 4 more top 100 players than KU. Arizona has had 1 more top 100 player than KU. And KU has had one more than UCLA. KU has had more top 100 talent in the last 5 years than all but 3 teams out of the hundreds in the NCAA. I too would like to see KU get all the very best players, but it's just not like KU's struggling to stay at .500 either.
Do you have any idea how many times I clicked on this link excepting to see a knock down drag out basketball conversation? Probably half of the 99 views...
I hope the football team starts to turn the corner this year. You could see signs last year, this year I hope to begin to see results not just flashes. 4-5 wins would be a fantastic start to the beginning of the Beaty turnaround.

I am not sure if this has already been mentioned but apparently Chandler Lawson, AKA the "third" brother was offfered a schoolie by KU. β several other offers are mentioned in the article.
Oh, you Wiley guy. You managed to get me to click on a Star link. I hate giving those :shit:s views!
@JayHawkFanToo I feel that way too, but there are a lot of idiots out there that are easily parted with their money. I imagine they will be a flaming failure, but who knows what sneaker heads will do?
@Lulufulu I would love to sell 100 $5o sneakers for $1000. That dudes a moron, but he's cashing in on his 15 minutes. Hope his kids can get their independence once they start earning a paycheck.

Didn't happen, but it's hilarious that so many people think it could. On the court they're as distinctive as fingerprints. At a murder scene...it'd be much more difficult as long as one stays away. Problem is they go darn near everywhere together.
It hasn't been quiet as bad the last few days for Hos. Breaking out of his slump?
From an ESPN.com article.
Which players are off to the worst starts of 2017?
There are plenty of hitters with a line worse than Hosmer's .271/.319/.393, but when you dig deeper, he has been even worse than those numbers suggest. You can start with the eight double plays he has grounded into; hey, that's what happens when you hit balls to the second baseman all the time. Going back to win probability, which factors in the score and inning of the game, Hosmer has been the 180th "most" valuable hitter among 183 MLB qualifiers. That's thanks to a .214 average with runners in scoring position entering Saturday, including 0-for-6 with the bases loaded or runners on second and third. In high-leverage situations, he was 2-for-28 through Thursday.
All this makes Hosmer one of the more intriguing players to watch the rest of the season. His free-agent value is cratering, not to mention his trade value if the Royals continue to flounder. If he doesn't start producing, you wonder if he'd go back to Kansas City on a one-year deal to try to improve his value (and change his swing like others have done to hit more fly balls).
http://www.espn.com/blog/keith-law/insider/post?id=7039 β
@Crimsonorblue22 It looks like the Royals may have a chance at retaining Hosmer after all.
@approxinfinity I like the numbers around baseball far more than the game itself. A box score tells the whole game. A baseball card paints a picture of a players production. It would be sacrilegous to change much. Just keep the 'roids, HGH, etc. out of the game and you can compare eras in baseball. This is unlike any other sport.
That used to be an easy question to answer 100% of KU and Chiefs games, less than 1% NBA or Royals games including playoffs. Then the Chiefs had a string of inept coaches, it felt like the franchise didn't care, so I quit caring as well. Now I watch about 25% of the Chiefs games if that.
With KU it was just Z-hole making it difficult. I know I missed the two pre-season games and I think I missed 2-3 other games. It's just not worth the money or effort to track down those games. If I had never been able to see them I would have a different attitude, but they were taken away. So around 90% of KU games.
To your point almost 0 baseball. Before the strike I would watch up to 40% of Royals games and 60% of Braves games. Afterward I watch less than 1% (16 games no stinking way!) of Royals games and no other team.
In the 80's and 90's I watched around 90% of the Bulls games. Post Jordan I've watched 1% of NBA playoff games. I only watch highlights of regular season games. Durant is the only player who's personality I like in the modern age and I can't root for him since he went to the Warriors.
I suppose a large reason I don't watch as many games is as mucha lack of interest as a lack of time. When I was in school I had all kinds of time to kill and would watch every even half way decent game I could. Now my other interests mainly work and kids take up my spare time and are more rewarding/interesting to me now. There always will be time for KU basketball FOE.
But in all fairness I also watch (have to listen to is more accurate) a boat load of Disney cartoons to keep the peace. It used to be ESPNews was the soundtrack to my life, currently its Moana...
@Mayjay And in doing so in an undipolmatic fashion, Tubby sent his best players down the road.
ASU got themselves a banger!
What happened to T. Mack from Texas? Why'd he get kicked? Seemed like he was coming on strong.
@DoubleDD I was there. Right under where his number was unveiled a few rows from the top. I couldn't figure out why Allen filled up so early. Then out walked Wilt. He was a massive man.
Be with you. Happy Star Wars day! :)
@brooksmd So you can see Embiid play? (Sixers suck)
The Plumlees worked out ok for Duke. Hopefully this can work out as well for KU.
@drgnslayr Bill's my favorite coach period. And in time I suspect he will be the most accomplished.
I would have taken Juiston on the reputation of his character and the past he is overcoming. Sounds like a fine young man; a leader this past years team could've used.
@Crimsonorblue22 @mayjay All the transfers has allowed a more talented roster (at the bottom) than normal. Lightfoot is the worst player on the team and he was the AZ player of the year and a top 100 recruit. The transfers have really helped up the quality of the practice squad. It should help on the court as they will be pushed in practice by talented players every day.
@DoubleDD It was a triple overtime loss. And yes they used the four corners stall.
