A argument I’m hearing - College sports is professional sports now, but poorly run. Why not go to a professional league that is well run? The nba has its revenue stream solidified. NCAA is rocky at best.

No one desires to coach in the minors, college didn’t used to be that.

@dylans Looks like the only real loss is McCullar; the incoming players should more than make up for his production. (Pump up Furphy all you want, but he was a liability in the second half of pretty much every game) I’m hoping for a major improvement as last years roster construction was terrible - just too few good players.

I happen to agree with Harrison - the best thing I’ve ever done is raise a family. My career is helpful in that end. I take pride in being good at what I do, but is not my life’s goal. @rockchalkjayhawk Yeah. I had a blowout and no spare near the Truman complex on the 4th of July as a… let’s just say 21 year old on a beer run. lol even the cops wouldn’t stop to help. Had to walk a couple miles to find a working pay phone (before everyone had a phone in their pocket). Was interesting- only one person told me I was going to get shot while walking down prospect, the others just scurried away to avoid stray bullets. lol not the best neighborhood. But we did make it back with some very warm beer after a 5 hour detour.

I have a hard time wanting to bash a fanbase that hasn’t had success since the early 90s for being excited about the top available coach coming there.
Cal can recruit. If he gets good assistant coaches (that can coach) they will do well. Only entitled fans like Kentucky, Duke, KU etc expect a title every year or bust. Some fan bases can enjoy winning the conference or even just having regular season success after such a long drought.
Not an SEC fan, but thank goodness for the invite to the big2 if that’s what happens. The new Big12 doesn’t do much for me.

But my roommate was an mechie from KU that has worked on the mars rover. - the only wildly fun experience I was brought in on (not the super fast elevator or flying in the wind tunnel while slightly inebriated lol) was the little (go kart size) formula style race car they build amd race at nationals. That was a blast. 120mph 3” above the pavement. 80mph donuts. Yeehaw!

I think KU will be better off without freshman Furphy, especially second half Furphy. I do believe he could’ve been a great player in another couple years. But as a freshmen he couldn’t carry himself in the second half, much less the team.
@kuballin10 If you have a chance re-watch some KU tournament games with an open mind and in the rare occasion zone is used it’s mostly the 2/3 and once I believe the box-1 thrown was out there. Don’t remember any this year though.
