Really? I was thinking the opposite. You put a kid who has no clue what hes doing in for K and they have about the same resume. Duke didnt get out of the first round something like 4 times under K since Self last got knocked out first round
Coach K won 5 national titles in 3 different eras of college basketball he knew how to coach and adaptto different eras. Upsets are more prone to happen with younger teams. Look at the years Self didn’t make it past the weekend and those are pretty much least experienced teams at KU. You can dislike him all you want, but to diminish his accomplishments is just plain ignorance and stupidity.
We have always paid Coach K the ultimate compliment- we hate his f***king guts. If you want to worship him, I'm sure there are better places to do that than here.

@approxinfinity IMHO Duke went from the final four last year to maybe making the tournament this year with all the talent money could buy (both times). I am just amazed at how much they suck now. The OAD approach is a losing approach, but “new Duke coach” (not going to bother to learn his name, he’ll be fired soon) can’t carry his weight at all. I figured they may get one good bounce year like UNC, but not enough carryover talent, I guess. They’re Kentucky pathetic now, just a bunch of talent running around with no coach.
I try to not put too much weight into a oad tournament. If it was 2-3 losses to get eliminated you would see a whole different list of champions. It’s rare the absolute best team wins due to the nature of the beast.

Flagler seems to play very well against KU. Don’t know how he does elsewhere, but he’s a torn in our side. Very solid player.

No dominant team this year. Unfortunately that definitely includes KU. College basketball has been weak the last few years I wish we were in better position to capitalize this year.

The Pac12 is garbage. I hope we don’t add too many of their leftovers. I’d also hate to start seeing those west coast start times. No one watches because the time difference and crappy teams with not big enough of fan bases to carry them.
Arizona is the only attractive team to me and that’s mostly because my grandparents were fans; they lived in Wilcox.
We shall see how it plays out. Have to grow under the current environment or the conference will wither on the vine. Now to contradict myself - The Pac12 teams proposed are better than what we’ve snagged so far - I’m just not a big fan of the recent additions - BYU, Houston, some random Florida school and another team I’ve already forgotten.
Fuck Texas fuck OU fuck Nebraska fuck Missouri fuck TexasAM and fuck Colorado for putting us in this position. I preferred regional teams and the natural rivalries they presented.
Defenses are harder to see change in than offensive sets. I’m sure there are tons of little tweaks BS makes game to game and year to year. Unfortunately I am not enlightened as to what they are. Seems to be mostly spacing and switching as the biggest differences. Bill is good at teaching the guys how to help on defense as well.
I was half expecting a box and 1 in the second half of the OSU game, but other defensive changes shut Bryce down.

Timing is not the best for me - got handed Nathaniel Raitcliff tickets (wish he was with the Night Sweats, but he has an orchestra backing him up) for that evening and have afternoon plans to attend Reef Stock in Denver as well (marine aquarium show). Not to mention KU plays Texas at 3!!! Might have to record SNL.
