The New York Giants have fired Pat Shurmur and Dave football Gettleman is searching for a new coach. It looks like they’ve honed in on Baylor’s Matt Rhule as the replacement. He has ties to the Giants as an assistant coach a few years back.

I’d hate to see Rhule leave, it seems he has Baylor on the right track. The Big12 is weak enough, judging by OU’s recent beat down at the hands of LSU. But I suppose it’s good that coaches are getting looks; indicates it’s a talent gap more so than a coaching issue.

Dotson needs to figure it out now. He will be the one to determine how far this team goes. All it takes is a mental breakdown at the end of a game to lose it all -Nova. I fully expect Devon to improve his command of the game as the season progresses. I just hope he gets enough polish in conference play; he’s not champion caliber yet. I hope he gets there in a KU uniform, but the clock is ticking.

@nuleafjhawk Yeah he is a great ambassador for the game, but I don’t care to hear Duke talk during a KU game that doesn’t involve Duke. Maybe Kansas pops up in conversation during other games, but I wouldn’t know; I’m not watching.

@FarmerJayhawk I believe it has been an option when filling out your brackets on ESPN to get that “analysis” so it’s billed that way regardless of his intentions. And it’s junk at predicting outcomes so I’m not sure what it’s worth beyond entertainment. But that’s all basketball is so...

@FarmerJayhawk If you want to see how poor the professionals do in determining outcomes, give it a go this March. It’s laughable that they get paid for predictive analysis and this is what you get. Now as a source of entertainment it’s up there with the ap poll.

Vick was a significantly better athlete. Moss isn’t a head case and should play all available games. Availability is the first important ability.

Lamar is on his rookie contract, so he’s only making a few million a year (only...). It’s common practice to take care of those that make you successful. This allows for future success that allows other generosity. Further more it’s his money to spend as he sees fit, he could of bought a bag of dicks to send to that lady!

You are correct there is no sure thing this year. KU isn’t out of it, they just are no where near the driver seat. They are way better than last season, just not championship caliber without major luck.

@FarmerJayhawk But that’s pretty much based on taking KU to overtime. Dayton hasn’t beaten anyone either. It’s early, but it doesn’t look like KU will prove much in the non-con other than they go as far as Dotson takes them.

@jayballer73 Playing Devil’s advocate, what’s KU’s biggest win? Dayton lol. We still don’t know if KU is any good, poor on court leadership led to losing to subpar Duke and Nova teams. I’m hopeful, but doubtful the glaring faults in this squad can be addressed.

Wow throwing shade on your own guy when you clearly blew the game. Disappointing to say the least.

I’d like to see the defense engage from at least 10ft beyond the three point line. Just harass them all over the court. No easy looks. Stop conceding up to the three point line.

Do like nba teams are and draw a 4pt line on the practice court to get better spacing on offense and teach the defense to engage sooner/further out.

Being a fan of a basketball school I’d sure like to see the NCAA’s revenue stream include football and less of the ncaa tournament to fund everything. But that would mean a NCAA football tournament and I don’t think they need anymore power.

Nova owns KU, no need to rush the court. It’s why I want to see the series continue as well. Bill needs to figure this crap out pronto!

First road game did not go so well. Why are we surprised in the least bit? Just the heart wrenching end I suppose. Dang I hate losing to nova.

I wouldn’t pick him at this point, he really needs to show more. Dotson’s potential as an nba player is low due to his short stature and lack of athleticism. He’s not a great decision maker or ball protector yet either. I hope it clicks real soon, because he’s gone ready or not at the end of the year based solely on the way he yearned for it at last years combine.

Over $160 million in operating expenses. Seems a tad high, but I’m sure the volume of crap they deal with is astounding.

So is KU any good? They’ve lost to the two best teams they’ve played and freakin’ Dayton took them to overtime. With any luck this will be a good teaching point, but it’s about time for the guys to get their act together so we can see some advanced play in March.

Dotson’s gotta learn from this game...wow he folded down the stretch. Turnover, poor decision making initiating the offense. Drawing a foul with 17 second left and missing the free throw... he’s got so much to learn and I’m afraid it’ll be too late if he doesn’t get it right now! He’s gone after this year and I don’t think he’s anywhere near his potential as a leader.

11am? All bets are off. I hate early games. KU never does as well as they should.

Being able to transfer isn’t the issue so much as so many kids wanting to transfer. Either there are a lot of really horrid situations out there or reality hasn’t set in for a crapload of kids. I’m thinking it’s more of the second and it’s a fundamental issue for not just basketball.

Yes and it would be intimidating. I just wonder about the guards being able to apply the proper pressure. Dotson is relied upon too heavily on offense to exhaust him on D. Garrett would be good. Ochai would be ok. Moss 🤷‍♂️ Enaruna could be good in a zone with his length.

@HighEliteMajor 3-2 zone would be nice, but zone is a naughty word simply because it’s a system that can be schemed against easier than good man to man.
