@Crimsonorblue22 Who wouldn't want to coach at KU? But we have got to make the position available first, right? That's the hardest part.

Regardless.. unlimited lifetime contract is just too ridiculous. Honestly, watching KU now is like watching McConnell during presser.

What if.. I said again What if, BS completely adopts runner & gunner team or at least try one season. Just one season, when he won't need to rely so much on a PG or two. Draft only those who's got length, athleticism, ball handling skills - don't have to be prolific 3pt shooters, but the prior skill set is a must. We've got Marko, DP, Calderon, Kease, Rylo with those characteristics plus benchers like Storr, Tiller. If FB stays, great. I think we've got ourselves a run-gun A team next season. Plus, God forbid, BS' recruiting staff doesn't screw up, we can get 1-2 like DeVries or Ballo that'd be heaven.
I imagined FB would be molded by BS turning to someone like Ballo, but boy.. reality bites.

@approxinfinity THIS: As others have said, I think Coach’s staff appears to have some issues.

@SlimShaddy54 I doubt Diggy has what it takes to be a solid PG aka BIFM - I'm fine if he's gone. Moore has bigger balls than anybody in the team. Flory or any kind of slim athletic power fwd/center players out of HS, should not join KU when BS is still at the throne. He doesn't have the right formula to use them. Period. That's very unfortunate. These days, players like that will be recruited by NBA and will thrive for years. Guys like HD, Lawson, Ellis, Landen, will never survive in NBA. Flory seems to be smarter, better defensively, has more upsides than Udeh. We'll miss FB, sadly.
I'm excited Peterson joined next season. The Brazillian dude has shown potentials, but will present challenges to BS & his staff again and again.
Will he force those slim athletic centers to play high-low? We know this won't work. We won natty with David because Remy was just a natural. BS has yet to show his worth as an HOF with unlimited term, IMHO.

Speaking of Tiller, does anyone know whether Tiller practices with team already? I don't see any improvement watching the bigs play. I'm afraid BS is preparing Tiller for next season, instead. LOL.. High-low v22.0.

@DCHawker Also, looking at from another angle, teams beating KU left and right by making lots and lots of 3s (40%). Team is lacking 3pt defense. Coach has a lot to do with the losses, too. 50% FT is not acceptable.. BS has to exhaust 2.5 bigs to score 40 but guards? Aren't they supposed to score off of dribble and drive? 3pts? getting into FT lane? Thanks to Juando who thinks he doesn't have to score, their guards contribute 2x than ours in scoring.

I think Juando deserves himself a dedicated post highlighting that crazy maneuver diving in, stealing, and passing the ball clean. Hats off to him - plus he scored more buckets than usual!

Flory - 15 minutes and 4 rebounds and 4 points, 4 Blks, 1 STL, 50% FG... he's being sabotaged, again. You got high motor, athletic ~7 footer, but noone threw him lobs. 2 touches. 2 freakin touches for the whole 15 mins on offense. He's the team's alpha dog from now on. He just needs to show a bit of emotion. Damn cold assassin.

Coach defines offense, live and die; plays has to go through HD. He doesn't seem to have that sense, like freeing pathways for guards to go all the way to the basket for easy buckets. You see the opposite when BU guards freely making layups after layups. HD can help on offense, but he's fragile on defense, too. He's clunky and too slow to get back to the paint when stepping out to help double team. So, we're stuck with HD. Offense struggles, defense crumbles. If only we counter with those made 3s, or at least with rebounds. We really need FB on the floor for 30min.

We've got lottery pick in Flory. He's line today: 1 block, 1 steal, 1 FG (from the steal). Something's amiss.. How can we not utilize a lottery pick on offense? It's mind boggling. We've got height advantage in HD & FB, but 22 3s tell us, coach really need to ramp up his offense. Oh, and rebounds. We got outrebounded so bad. I guess both defense & offense need to get better in a hurry.

@approxinfinity Sounds like coach should consider playing HD, FB, KJ plus Harris & Zeke/Shak. At anytime 2 or all of those 3 must stay throughout the game. Yep, FB should play 75% out of the 3's PT (I doubt though, knowing coach Self). I believe we'll be able to compete in FF comes March.

@approxinfinity I'd like to hear from journalists (Newell?) asking coach, too (...maybe he was caught up in thinking Hunter and Flory couldnt play together) - lol... KJ's on sideline has brought some light to the darkness in KUMBB, IMHO. Let's hope coach will find the right formula going forward, we're pretty darned close. Hopefully, FB's 19pts against top dog Cougars gave enough testament to coach that he's grown up, he's ready to bring this team to the next level.

@BeddieKU23 Couldn't agree more. Having FB start instead of KJ gave KU an edge against any teams, IMHO. Combined the two? Can't wait till KJ is 100% again. We've seen them playing together very well. I remember KJ threw lobs/passes to FB. If coach can make best use of FB on offense, I'd say we can compete against any top teams. Defense-wise, he's a natural swatter.. and as a team we're still pretty good - Kenpom still has us at #6 IIRC.

@Bosthawk I like KJ's energy, especially on defense. But I also see potent in him scoring as well especially last several games, end of season. He's sort of disappearing again this season in offense. I kind of comparing him with Jwan Roberts - the guy started with 1 ppg but he's found his signature through drills, drills and drills. I'm pretty sure KJ can provide extra offense with his 7'-8' short jumpers or floaters effectively. I see him as a strong player who can help team score, regardless whether they need points or not. It's a win-win. Scouts will value his offensive skill and of course, we'll be more dangerous comes conference.

@Kcmatt7 Newbie here. Thanks for lifting up Sunday spirit here. After watching the game again, I really like the combo tower HD & FB - hoping coach can make the best use of them from hereon. This could be the best combo centers in the nation. Imagine HD can use his soft touch plus another option to throw high pass just like what we saw yesterday, or seal for FB to finish strong off of a feed from any guards. We will be unstoppable if Harris can keep making 3s, helping others to score. I don't think Storr is as good as advertised/was in Wisc. Been watching this site for a while and love what y'all have here. Appreciate the info, learning, useful insights for other Hawks fans here.
