@konkeyDong Nice link bud, this is ANOTHER where I feel we have like a pretty decent chance. percentages I would say my feel right now is like maybe 60% KU 40% Flordia State like Jeff says the main reason Flordia State so close is because they have been there from the start, and the relationship Hamilton has with the family, the bad for them is already other bigs on roster, and they after the other big boy also. Plus agan I don't think he has to worry about competing with Bolden, I think it would be worked out, Bolden probably at the 4 and Udoka at the 5 we shall see. he is surpose to commit or announce in December so got a bit yet. Well as expected,Giles for Duke, which we all knew was no surprise so now hopefully things start falling. Like I have said along with others, should be simple. Now with Giles going to Duke, and looks more and more like Allen to Kentucky, looks like we should be in pretty good shape For Marques Bolden. What ya think guys? Now if that does happen, would be nice to get the 3rd guy, question is who is it to go with light foot and Bolden lets keep our fingers crossed, so who is the 3rd guy if we get Bolden holler at me. @HighEliteMajor people are saying it will not hurt his recruitment in the least. that the coaches will continue to keep recruiting him. they say take 8-9 months for recovery, but should be ok. expect full commit to DUKE on ESPN tomorrow at noon

I know there are a ton of Bilas haters here BUT he makes a very good point. like he states on twitter, Diallo can speak 4 different languages and yet the NCAA still hasn't cleared him, like Bilas says, come on NCAA let the kid play

@drgnslayr no sorry buddy, I don't know, but would be nice to find out if there is. I know a lot of people thought because Josh played for miller this summer it was going to be a huge plus for them, which maybe it was for awhile, but just I thought, as the newness wore of from that, and other college coaches, coach Self included still constantly recruiting Josh their lead started to dwindle, now actually I think it's a crap shoot, although the one THING that might hurt is family at home, plus Izzo pretty good coach, STILL I just got this feel, call me nuts it's ok but would be sweet. @drgnslayr I have to agree with you. I think we just might be in pretty good shape with Marques, very well could be coaches already or pretty well know just how we are standing with him. Again as we have said before seems kinda simple to me, bottom line if Giles goes to Duke- - - Marques comes here. they say Giles injury won't effect his recruitment, we will find out tomorrow at noon , if he goes, could be Marques will announce shortly after, as it looks like Allen is Kentucky. so if it all plays out, I mean Giles to Duke, Allen to Kentucky, then I for sure can't see Bolden not coming here. I dunno, I just don't feel the Diallo return, I Still feel he will be cleared, call me stupid, just my gut. Just another gut and I know people say it's a done deal he is Michigan State, but I feel we are still right there for Josh Jackson, seen another prediction today from a recruiting anyalyst predicting commitment to KU. we shall see. Bragg is going to be very good, lots of energy, loves to play you can see it, saw him in the post game, smiles from ear to ear, contagious smile, already love the way he gets after it, passed the ball nice, goes to the boards, can score, again it was an exhibition, but don't think that is going to be ab issue we can sure use him

Have to say when Coach Self was ask in postgame on Cox about Diallo he says ya well progress had been made, but here is what I took reading between lines, and it's a reach I saw maybe it was just me but I saw or at least I thought his face almost light up, look like kinda he was tryin to hide a smile when talking about it but could be way off base. Either way I feel we are getting close, REAL CLOSE finally

we all had pretty well figures out that this was going to surprise no one. but now I see we have offered Andrew Jones? getting in on him pretty late aren't; we or am I missing something? with Herard as expected came down to playing time immediately, which I mean he would of got playing time for sure with all our looses, but its almost like he wanting to start and Coach Self will not guarantee that Period. So its either Allen, Azubuike, or Bolden. I still feel like we have a great shot at both Azubuike, & Bolden. Azubuike at the 5 Bolden at the 4, neither one is going to scare the other away, different positions or can play different. As with if Herard would of come then no chance Azubuike would of committed but I really feel we have a chance with these 2. Again it is pretty simple I believe, if Giles goes to Duke, Bolden comes here. Someone tell me what is going on? I mean we haven't even started play yet, and Wayne Seldon STILL isn't 100%- - - - my question is I guess, is WHY? I mean really? how long has this guy's ankle been messed up? the answer- - - - -for quite awhile now. So next question, why are we do we continue to practice Wayne when he is less the 100%? Don't need to hear well he needs the practice time, my response to that is BULL. This guy is a junior, he knows the system by now, you can't tell me that there has been that new stuff installed where he needs to practice on this ankle every day. I know he gets it, he understands I, so why are we working him on this bum ankle. he needs to rest it, time to heal it, it surposedely was a twisted ankle, hmmmm, must be one hell of a twist. Yes I also played ball, I know what a twisted ankle is, a sprained ankle is, been there done that so again WHY are we not giving this time to heal NOW? So do we just continue to let it go the way it is? Is this the way we want to start the season off with one of our key players? We want to continue to run him, practice him and take a chance on him REALLY screwing the ankle up and I mean major bad where he is out for the season, or a majority of the season or do we let him rest it, heal it? Sit him for the exhibitions, they are exhibitions for God's sake, nothing to gain out of them, he has plent of playing experience, not like he is a raw freshman coming in trying to learn everything. hmmmm, Their choice. Ok guys, before I post, this post I already know some of you will think I'm absolutely nuts, but I'm saying this anyways. We are having our butts handed to us on a platter pretty much weekly, YES I understand this quite nicely, But the bottom line, the grand over all scheme of things, the grand PUBA, as it were is, if you look for the clearing beyond the forest you can see some light. Once again we have just, and the commentator's mentioned this today, we have just got to HAVE PATIENCE. If you look in areas there are some pieces there, in the OFFENSE & in the DEFENSE, true, a long, long way to go, but we can't just can't continue to be the ever lasting pessimist about the program, there are some areas where given some time, we are going to be ok. Again that's the key, as the commentators said 5 coaches in the last 7 years. THATS NOT GOING TO CUT IT. you will never have any kind of consistency that way. I'm right there with you, discouraged, very discouraged but on the offensive side, there is our QB- - -Willis, we have at least 3 freshman recievers, maybe 4. Pretty deep at running back. The Defensive side we have Wise, Dileen, and dam can't remember our other Defensive lineman that's really good, there are pieces, have to allow Coach more time to get his players in here. This is a really really young team, at times some a little spurt, just got to suck it up, take our beatings now, for our success later, growing pains. Hang in there guys ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@Texas-Hawk-10 not sure why they couldn't give him the time he wants. Ellis is gone, Traylor, is gone, Mickelson is gone, and even if Diallo gets cleared he will be gone. So with that being said who is there to man the 5 spot? and there is some difference between 4 & 5 because Herard is a 5, 5, 5 for sure and nothing but a 5 a back to the basket type pure 5 player, don't even believe he is capable of the 4. I dunno guess that's why Coach Self is there and I am here lol

OK, so ya I know it's early Saturday and I'm not all the way awake yet, But I need your guys help. I just read in the L.J.W. the article which included recruiting and it had info, although the same things we already knew, but this was on Schnider, Herard. Was talking about the time table for him to announce, But here is the thing. Then it came out and said KU had lessened their efforts I recruiting him in the last couple of weeks, and looked like he was pretty much done deal for Mississippi State. Now to that my question is - - - WHY? Yes, I understand he isn't the highest profile, or maybe most talented, but I for sure know there is definitely worse out there & on top of the fact is that , him and Azubuike is the only 2 TRUE fives we are recruiting right? So if we backed off him then, I guess does that mean maybe the coaches feel like we are in really great shape with Azubuike or what? If Bolden should end up committing he is not really a true 5, he is more of a 4 although probably could play the 5 although I've read where he wants to play the 4 and I'm sure the coaching staff has told him that he would play the 4. So there is where I need help understanding why. Again the only thing I can figure is, either they feel Azubuike is coming, although everything I've heard looks like he is going to Flordia State, or they think Bolden is coming, help me understand guys. @Texas-Hawk-10 I Agree with you. I think if Herard were to commit to Ku it would not have any affect on Bolden at all, not even talking about Giles, because I just feel he is a done deal for Duke. But as was mentioned, Herard is a true 5 & 5 only where Bolden can play the 4 so I feel he will not shy away if Herard does commit to Ku. Once again I feel the whole Bolden situation totally depends on Giles. Giles goes to Duke which I feel he will- - -Reasons why? close to home, Jason his buddy committed there, and its Duke. So if Giles goes to Duke, I feel in the end run Bolden comes to KU. But if for some reason Giles should end up in Kentucky - - - then that's a different story, Bolden would probably end up at Duke, but again as far as Herard steering Bolden away, don't think that happens, now agree again it more then like scares of Azubuike off, but we shall have to wait and see.

@Texas-Hawk-10 everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I too agree with you. I fully believe Herard will end up here at Ku. nothing to really back other then I saw some time ago and been in the hunt pretty well for the long haul, but was a heavy lean for KU in the beginning, true lost some ground, but believe he will end up a Jayhawk. @drgnslayr I agree, late night has always been a big selling point to the recruits coming in. Now having said that I do believe they need to change the routine up a little bit at late night, freshen things up, its pretty much been spot on the same type of thing year in and year out, don't ask me what needs to be different, can't put my finger on it but SOMETHING. I mean I know the recruits get the nu 1 treatment and the atmosphere is really good, just need to mix the routine itself up some way. But definitely this is our selling point, put late night together with our new living quarters and we will match up with anybody, our history speaks for itself, now with the latest information of how we stand on getting players into the N.B.A is a huge plus, our national exposure, our schedule, we got everything going, I still believe like others have stated MAYBE its time for a changing of the guard, at our recruiting positions, Again me? bottom line. Well, just read the article about Ku being ties for 2nd with UCLA for putting players in the N.B.A. sine the enforcement of the one and done rule, we have put 18 players in the N.B.A. since then with KENTUCKY of course leading with 23. Article showed 5 bigs which we are still in on and recruiting hard Giles, Bolden, Allen, Herard, & Azubuike. Ok, now I have NOTHING, but I think its a safe bet surely we will get 1 of these 5. possibly 2. Ok, I may be totally insane but if its 1 I , my gut just says it's Bolden, WHY? because like the article mentioned, not sure if he would wait for Giles to make his commit or not, but if indeed which I think he is for sure, but if Giles commits to Duke like is perceived- - -Then Marques commits to the Jayhawks. So that's if we get 1. now if we by chance land 2 of these guys? Again just my gut, or could be indigestion lol but my gut and gut only is- - - Marques Bolden & Schnider Herard. well, just got through reading article on Mitch. loved his or one of his tweets I think it was says " you can take the boy out of Kansas. but you can't take Kansas out of the boy " LOVE IT. says he has instantly went from recruit to recruiter, said he had instantly started about recruiting teammate. When asked who he would try and recruit to come play with him at KU? he said he was going to try and recruit, talk Udoka Azubuike to come to KU said he really like playing with him in some of the camps I believe. to that I say HELL YA, ya I know but hey can't hurt right? have another KU player trying to convince big boy to come, may already pay benefits for us who knows, but sure would be nice I know not getting my hopes to high but still, doesn't hurt to dream and what if a little. got a question, may and can be relevant to us at times and then sometimes not. ya, ya call it dum if you like, i'm a grown man and if you feel like taking shots for me asking go ahead. The question is, and its not just us KU fans but fans in general at times, why do we feel the need to compare incoming players to ANYBODY ELSE? Why can't we just let them be their selves? How about letting Mitch develop into Mitch, all we hear is he looks so much like this guy or that guy and then a lot NOT ALL but a lot of crazies if they fell to turn into that player that they were compared to, surpose to be like, when they came into college then they automatically become a huge failure, OH they didn't live up to their billing, they are a big bust. Why do we have to compare them to anybody? Why can't we just sit back and enjoy Mitch Light foot for Mitch Light Foot? let Mitch form his own identity? I mean really, seriously, is that fair to the player? All we do, All he hears, - - - all he reads is who he is surpose to be like, play like. @DoubleDD Good point , I remember quite some time back, when a little point guard out of Topeka, Kansas so I've been told anyways as the story goes walked into Coach Brown's and point blank said I'm the best point guard you've got. That kid played with a lot of heart, guts, and determination and if my memory doesn't fail me played quite well during his time at KU, so like you say NEVER under estimate a kids heart. Especially as light foot says KU being a school of his dreams, you get someone in a place like that then who knows. The kid I was talking about from Topeka, Kansas? his name? a young kid by the name of Mark Turgeon, Turgeon the surgeon as they called him seems he did quite nicely , and now is doing pretty well as the Coach of Maryland if my memory doesn't fail me, so who knows what can happen with Mitch , time will tell.

@rocketdog not to me it wasn't but i'll forgive you. let me slow it down. the impression i'm getting and from MORE THEN 1, is like this WHEW we have a recruit committed, to which I say really? If we have gotten to the point, where our whole motive is, lets get a body so we can say we have a commit? then again- - - THATS NOT GOOD. When I come on here and see a statement saying- - - its one more commit then we had a few hours ago. if that's the train of thought, if that's the way we are looking at it, then THATS NOT GOOD. That's like saying lets take whoever, no matter, lets get whoever we can get, just more or less to say hey we have a commit, that's like saying we have 5 openings lets grab 5 bodies, I would sincerely hope we haven't fallen to that level, which I know we haven't, seems like some people feel like there has to be a certain time table an exact time for players to commit- - -they commit when they commit. Bothers me a little when I see a statement like that, don't panic people KU will be just fine no matter when they commit. But lets hope to God Coach Self isn't taking the approach of WHEW well now we have one more commit then we did a few hours ago. I know, still can't follow? @Lulufulu that's the what we want, that statement of hey its ! more recruit then we had is NOT GOOD, that's like taking the approach that hey lets get somebody- - -anybody, that approach is just like taking a body no matter to use the schlorships up dam I hope that's not Coach self theory, If we indeed have to wait to spring to get that one to sign then so be it, but to say its one more commitment then we did have THATS NOT GOOD. Again I don't for sure hate the kid, I think he will be a good role 4 year player for us, its just he is at the bottom of the scale of bigs that we are after he didn't even enter the picture until late. Now who knows its quite possible that Coach self knows we are not going to get the one that we wanted, or felt we have lost substantial ground on these other kids, so enter Mitch Lightfoot, I will tell you this Mitch was Coach Self's nu 1 go get. Sounds good but I tell you what if he was so all in on Kansas from the start after his DE-commitment to New Mexico as you say why the visits? why was Arizona the leader? no biggie just sayin, my thoughts- - - - -my thoughts is if Arizona hadn't got the commitment from Pekka's son- - he would of committed to Arizona. like was said he isn't by far the big one we are after in this period, and yes will be a good 4 year player I'm not disappointed we signed him, just not doing cartwheels either. jayHawkfan very true they played very poor through the contest. felt they were in a little bit of awe, intimidated. just shows how far we have to go to reach Texas or any others of that level yet. still a great season but we hit like 1.59 for the match, normal is like 3.59 I believe. 9 service errors 4 or 5 hitting errors just bad sets, and set ups. I think where the match REALLY got away was in the 2nd set. we jumped out to a 5-0 lead and then 16-12 and from that point was outscored 13-3 the rest of 2nd set. I agree with you and hopefully for this re-match maybe we could move it to Allen, get more fans we played before 4,000 last night that's a lot so ya behind you 100% with this idea, the announcers from Texas were saying the re-match would be loud , hot and full but its only 1,500 hopefully we get them on the re-match just have work to do. well swept. sorry have to say kinda disappointing. hey for sure Texas is good, real good there has to be a reason they are 2nd in the nation, and they showed why, BUT the ladies turned in a pretty sad match, 25-14 last set, texas showed how an elite team looks, plays, we were hitting like 3.23 for the year- - - -we hit 1.59 crazy you can't do that against those caliber teams 9 service errors just doesn't get it, ya Texas played like Texas but we played poor BUT hey its 1 match just have to rebound, they coming to KU on November 11th like the announcers said going to be full, hot and loud Texas announcers maybe we could move it to Allen get some more people to come just a thought our place only holds 1500, never thought I would get this wrapped up in womens volleyball but juast got to suck it up and get ready for the next match, correct some mental errors. well really disappointing, think the ladies had jitters the 1st set lost 25-16, just looked all out of rhythm, sad 2nd set, jumped out 5-0 was ahead 16-12 and then got outscored 13-3 for the rest of set. down 2 sets to zero. but dam I mean they are playing in front of 4,000 fans 4,ooo that's crazy don't play in front of crowds nearly as much as that, but they lost match in 2nd set needed that set BALL GAME. question is do we play Texas again? is this round robbin?. well guys for what it's worth the game Friday will be shown on the Longhorn network if you get that Friday Channel 285 on Cox Cable it starts at 8:00 Friday night until 10:00, should be a great match hopefully, Texas ranked 2nd in the nation, KU ranked 7th in the nation and ya but we have lost 5 sets not 4 but that is still mind boggling we are 19-0 and have lost just 5 sets, our 5th was to Baylor when we won 3-1, watched the ladies tonight and I tell you what seems to me the Payne train can score almost at will, anytime she wants. a lot of weapons, Dockery, Soucie, Payne, Hall , dam can't think of the other one and our setter is out of this world and only a soph. I've gotten spoiled get up set not when they lose a match but when they lose a set lol, that's pretty sad on my part. But again on the longhorn network Friday Night at 8:00 on cox 285. well got to say to @ just another, I am afraid have to disagree on a point, and that is to say we have never went through a down period isn't exactly true, I was around when Ted had some rough times not really very good just mediocre teams didn't have problem getting a ticket at times for a spell, don't get me wrong we didn't stink but Ted was catching some heat use to be a theory he could recruit but couldn't coach back in the old BIG 8 days I suffered though some of those years we were not even close to the power we are now, so to say we didn't go through any down spells is not really correct

well saw from 247 sports, and off an article in Lawrence Journal World looking like Mitch will announce he is committing to KU. question is, is this a good signing or not so good? My question is how will this effect the other recruits we are after? would take 1 of the available openings. my feeling is it shouldn't effect at all but who knows? I mean NO WAY does he take a spot from Marques If he should commit to us, what about Scheinder H. ya I know didn't spell the name right but you know who I'm talking about, me personally? that is the big question. I see some things, but very frustrating, the little things thatyou have JUST got to do if you want to get to the next step, costly penalities, not being able to come up with the big stop on 3rd down, dropped passes, I or we have to understand we are pretty young, 32 freshman, 10 red shirt freshman, and 16 sophomores and yes it takes time, going to take a lot of time, this team was sooooo depleted by the previous coaching staff I truly believe we are making some progress, just really frustrating when you don't have the tools, talent, I think we may have our quarterback we just need help ALOT OF HELP on the defensive side and offensive line just have to have patience, crawl before you walk right? you know guys, I've have heard this excuse from different people multiple times and yes I as well as many others have bought into this theory or idea, or whatever you want to call it, now you can agree, or disagree that's what makes these sites so interesting, people have different views and I love reading them especially on this site. I love this site a lot of great points and solid information, anyways like I said maybe you'll agree, maybe you won't that's great that's what America is all about freedom of choice, freedom of expression. Anyways I use to hear and still hear this WELL the reason KU isn't getting the early commits is because these kids are waiting to see what other kids are going to do, or who is leaving, and I used to buy into that, and still do to A POINT. I also stick to a thought of though that maybe, just maybe we have a recruiter that's not getting the job done, nor closing the deal. Again if it just comes to candy and nuts we take a back seat to no one, we can match Tradition, winning pct, developing and promoting players into the N.B.A as well as any other school wll maybe close with Kentucky but other then that we don't have to make up excuses or try to explain, history, tradition speaks for its self. I mean you look at it, home court advantage? who has a better been brought to light by sooooo many people about the cathedral the foundation of college basketball how this place holds such mystique , who wouldn't want to come play in that environment, the crazy fans, be treated like GOD'S the coach? who wouldn't want to play for a guy that develops his players to N.B.A. prospects? who has won more league titles the he has home losses? I mean seriously he still hasn't lost 10 games at home since he has been here. So then the question becomes WHY? WHY. aren't we getting them to commit? I just feel to a certain extent that it has to be the recruiter for that individual. They are just not closing the deal, locking it down, we have had recently multiple players solid on KU only to be lost or in the process of being lost, that doesn't cut it, we have to seal it up . maybe its time for change, with our recruiter. I can't buy into the theory anymore for all the ones we are starting to lose out on, I mean seriously? really? every one of these top recruits that once was solid or a heavy lean for us and now hinging about where to go? prime example Terrance F, huge KU and BAM out of nowhere ALABAMA? ALABAMA? how do they match up with us? basketball powerhouse?- - - umm no, basketball tradition?- - -umm no national championships?- - -umm no. we can't continue to use this excuse, why is the other schools example Duke, Kentucky, even North Carolina, why they still getting the early commits from prime time recruits? the same recruits that we hear are waiting as we have been told or said to see what other recruits are going to do or who is leaving? if that's the case then why are these same ones committing early to these other schools? doesn't add up, that's why I say I feel partially anyways someone isn't getting the job done. just my opinipon, have a great day guys. Sure like our chances a lot more just from the take I got off Marques interview, talking about how he has always had a lot of interest in KU, and saying that hasn't changed, and that he wouldn't of made the trip if he wasn't seriously considering KU. said he got to watch practice and how he enjoyed that, and coach self telling him how he would be used saying he wasn't for sure if he was going to go to Kentucky's or Duke's midnight madness events, needs to sit back and think about what he is doin next, not sure what he is going to do. Now yes I know he has already visited both those schools but still feel he may be a KU lean again, was wearing his KU shirt, I still like our chances, like I said previously I think we will get 2 out of the 5 that visited not sure at what point but the final result that's what we get. would love Bolden- - Herarld, or Bolden Azulbulike let Marques play the 4 and Azul the true 5 where is a natural and be the powerful inside presence ya I know, I know, maybe so far off base, but yet I don't think so that's my gut telling me ew shall see, but got nothing but positive vibes from this post. I KNOW nobody believed the outcome of this game would be any different. We all knew we were going to have to suffer thru this, this year and probably a big chunk of next year, the thing is again, like has been said over and over the ALUMI and fans have just got to BE PATIENT. I have seen signs, Coach Beaty is getting some interest from recruits that in the past we wouldn't have even gotten a sniff from he is getting visits from 4 star and 5 star players to AT LEAST visit the campus. we have 33 players something or rather playing for the 1st time I think Ryan Willis might be able to give us what we need at the QB, and have the kid from Flordia also.. right now Coach Beaty is having to use dum ass Weis players we have just got to GIVE HIM TIME to get his players we can't just say oh well time to get rid of him I think he will get the players I like this guy, give him some time to get his players. we saw on the 1 TD we got freshman to freshman our kickoff man is a freshman, give us an OFFENSIVE LINE that can give Willis a little time. he has a cannon for a arm the announcer said definitely PRO arm. hang tough my fellow fans its gonna take time, a lot of time, there is no way to go but up. we knew it would be ugly this year, but I truly believe Coach can get this done, or at least get us turned around and headed up. @BeddieKU23 maybe, but I have no doubt Wayne is gone after this year, whether its oversea's or in the N.B.A and not to sure about SVI again this is not coming from me, but coach self saying as far as N.B.A. potential that's him SVI and seeing where they have him projected and they draft a lot on potential, so that's 2 of the 3 we are talking about, and he could walk right in and take that spot, much more talented were talking about from whats being said arguably from scouts the nu 1 player in the nation, scoring machine, very solid defender all the talent in the world I have no reason to believe that he can't walk right in and take over, and with Wayne switching positions now then for sure, we shall see
