Just got through watching a really bizarre ending to this game. - -Baylor up on Oklahoma 24-14 with 1 second to go in the Game , Baylor has the Ball. The students come rushing the field absolute nuts STILL 1 second left Lincoln Riley going nuts with the Officals
Take some time to be able to get the students off the field for the 1 second , Riley had sent his players to the locker room had to get them back out for that ONE SECOND. -so finally gt them back and what's Baylor do they kick a field goal with that ONE SECOND to make the score 27-14 - -OMG oh I bet there is some OU players and staff hot - - pretty funny stuff
got the W some had good game others not so much. Game was kind of hard to watch from the defensive side, countless times getting beat off the dribble drive. Frank Martin was a much better coach, but KSU fans didn't like his attitude because they wanted someone like Bill Snyder. They got someone with that type of personality, but he can't win games, so there's a lesson in that somewhere.
On top of that, Weber can't recruit, so he's always going to be inconsistent. He will sometimes stumble into talent, like he had with Dean Wade and that group, but not consistently. He's just good enough to not get fired, but never good enough to make his team a consistent factor. He probably finished 5th in the conference, then steals a game in the NCAA tournament to save his job. Or they are as bad as the roster looks, and he gets canned 10 minutes after they lose in the Big XII tournament.
That's not what happened at all at KSU with Frank Martin. Their fan base was mostly pissed off about his firing because the only year Martin missed the NCAA Tournament was his second year. Frank Martin was fired because he didn't get along with the John Currie who was KSU's AD at the time.

ya bud was on the broadcast last night on the Radio. Was talking and they said how Bill doesn't force them to red-shirt , but just sits down with them and talks it over and says where would you see your minutes like this year ? - How do you feel about things - pretty good way to work. Last night Coach talked about KJ doing some really good things for the 4 minutes he was in - -Talked about Clemencs ooops sorry and the good things he had done and then of course Bobby - - BOBBY BOBBY ya think I like Bobby -hell yes I do after watching him in the exhibition and then last night - -ummm ya.
Heard talk about how they think that quitte possibly that this is probably the MOST COMPLETE team Coach has had in some time - think we might just have a sweet year
Whz listening to the local sports broadcast today & hosts they made some really good points I though about the game last night. The 1st thing one brought up and if you think about it have to agree. He said offensively he was impressed , because being the 1st game of the year your offense is usually can be rust lagging. He said but for KU to come out and hang 87 points on any Tom Izzo tam is pretty dam good, he said especially when you consider McCormack didn't really have that great of a game , AND you was missing Jalen Wilson- you take that combination and hang 87 on Michigan State - -not to shabby.
Also talked about Oachi and scoring his 29 points , not necessarily that he scored 29 points BUT how efficient he was in scoring those 29 points in taking 17 shots to score those 29 points , said he looked like for once he had the look of a dominant player, like I'm gonna get mine
They brought up other good points about the team - talking saying Bill wanted after last year to be more athletic - - they ARE more athletic , talked about how the team can get out and run every position player for his position can get out - - true. - - - talked about the young guys being Athletic - - -He mentioned and I agree - -we got us one I think with Bobby Pettiford - -kid is gonna be a stud.
They talked about saying now - - if you think Oachi is going to go out and score 29 night in and night out - - that's not going to happen BUT like they said he shouldn't have to , if Oachi can go out score in between 15-20 in a game - -were good, and saying what we seen from Dave last night isn't what were going to see as the Season goes on - -talked about how he always starts slow, that they know he will come
talking about if Christian goes out and gets those 7-8 rebounds a game can hit an open three every now and then when he got it, grab some rebounds like he did last night - that's all we need. - -Talking about how we know Remy is gonna get his, you figure he didn't score in the 1st half last night and ends with 15 , true they said he may take some forced shots BUT he makes those shots - for the most part. - Lot's of good points brought out.
Said true you can't over value ONE game but for the 1st game against a quality opponent - pretty solid
Dave not a huge game BUT tell you what he did do - he had a couple of Sweeeet blocks -- very nice

Read the Article off ESPN and the odds of Schools winning the NCAA was just surprised maybe wearing my Crimson ? Blue glasses to much BUT almost knocked me over when I saw we was like the 9th best choice to win the Title - -NINETH? - -Gonzaga , Michigan , UCLA , Villanova , Kentucky , Purdue , Texas , Duke , KU.
So ok I don't have much problem with the list BUT OK now I just need someone to explain Why we are unde some of these guys as I would take our chances against some of these guys. Villanova MIGHT BE A TOSS UP MAYBE but I can't see Kentucky , Purdue , DUKE & even Texas. - Here is where I guess I'm just biased - -but I think we stand as good of chance of winning the whole thing just as much as these teams I mentioned - -yet they got us listed 9th favorite at 16-1 I think we should be above these guys maybe other then Villanova - -the others I just don't see it. So I guess I need to have someone tell me why we are lower.

Jayballer, Packers is a very good team and I am certain that they will make playoffs.
I had a lot of respect for Aaron R, however, him not being honest and transparent about inoculation was a major disappointment.
Rodgers though still playing at a high level has become a self-loving, grandstanding diva. "Yeah, I've been immunized," which was a damn lie - he should be suspended for two games after passing protocol.
I love Aaron Rogers as an athlete but he has or is becoming a Cancer to GB program - -he gone after this year anyways but still on of the best players in Football

Frank Martin of South Carolina : - Remember him from K-State time I think it said he was in his 10th Season for the Game Cocks - has a record of 153-134 - a little surprising , well to me anyways
Jarod Haase of Stanford : like Jarrod great scrapper , defensive . You all remember his book Floor Burns ? staff kept track of how many times players hit the floor for loose balls and such. - -Only 1 NCAA appearance under Jarrod - hate to hear but shaky ground for our old KU Hawk
Tim Jankovich : of SMU Played at K-State and if I remember right he was on the KU staff for a couple of years wasn't he ? has a 101 -55 record but only 1 NCAA appearance under Tim , took over from Larry - -hate to hear that too
BRUCE WEBER good old Brucie from we know where K-Straight : Bruce is 170-130 at K-State been to 5 NCAA appearances , won a Big 12 Championship BUT last 2 years of Big 12 Conference play is 7-29. That's not going to get you much of a Security blanket anywhere with that kind of record. Bruce has had a lot of players quit/transfer during his time at K- State not sure just really how much control he actually has in the locker room , and for him things look kinda bleak again this year. Talks about with Brucie being 65 just might be forcing him into retirement. we shall see.

maybe or maybe not. but usually have a solid conference, I just have to question the use of words weak or fairly weak. if it doesn't pan out for them mostly because just like the Big 12 they beat up one another in Conference play.
For sure not a Super Conference not as strong as the big 12 BUT just have a hard time in believing that they are weak or fairly weak - -seems like yr after yr they are a solid conference you normally see decent numbers in the tourney

Have to agree with you farmer. It's a very early Season Match up and nobody knows quite for sure to exactly expect - -that's why they play the games. Have to ay I think there seems to be a lot of people who just might be under selling Michigan State. - -I think this is going to be a real battle
Interesting enough the Champions Classic use to be the real kickoff of the Season but looked and there is 184 games tipping off Tuesday that's insane so many starting on this date

Not really quite sure where all the hate of Mitch's playing is coming from. - -Mitch is the heart to this team , the soul of this team just because he doesn't go out and score 20 and grab 13 rebounds and 4 blocks people seem to want to jump on the Mitch is Garbage.
Mitch is far from being a flashy player - - -Mitch is no Huge Scoring Machine -- Mitch is no glass cleaner , what Mitch IS though I'll tell you AGAIN. Mitch IS a player that will give 110 % , more then I can say for a lot of these players present & Past. - -Mitch is a guy that is not afraid to get dirty , the guy that doesn't get the glamour & Mitch doesn't care if he doesn't get that glamour , I'll tell you WHAT MITCH IS though Mitch is a Kansas Jayhawk 150 % thru and thru. Mitch eats , sleeps , drinks KU ball , he loves this university. A lot of the others just go through the motions half ass. they will put in their 3-4 yrs and never be seen or heard from again.
Have we ever seen Mitch get pulled over for a DUI - -ever gotten in a fight at a Bar , ever been accused or was part of a group that was doing drugs or even accused of it ? -Ever been accused of hitting a woman ? - -or even worse. has Mitch ever been one of the guys shooting BB air guns and getting in Trouble ? - -( does the Morris Brothers ring a bell }- The answer is a resounding NO. What Mitch is he is a guy that comes to practice works his ass off to the best of his ability just like anyone else -Mitch plays to his capibilities , does anyone here really believe Mitch could do a hell of a lot more ? - Come on - -be real
What we HAVE seen though is Mitch saving another players ass after that player has gotten beat by catching up and blocking the shot from behind saving a sure cinch bucket , by one of our players getting beat. What we do see is Mitch giving his body up making the attempt anyways of drawing that Charge , What we DO SEE Mitch do is diving on the floor for loose balls , What we do see from Mitch is getting that rebound sometimes Big rebounds - -We see Mitch scoring some every now and then. - Most of all we have seen repeatedly Mitch coming up with that Block
Hell no Mitch isn't some stud scoring machine - -not a huge rebounder but important rebounder- and what Mitch is most of all is - - he is and KU Jayhawk and he LOVES the school - - loves his team mates -Mitch get's it and is proud to play fr KU - -he loves it - -I for one and maybe one of the few I am very glad Mitch is part of this team - -part of Any KU team , be his playing time is 2 minutes on the floor OR 15 minutes on the floor - -I wish we had MORE kids like Mitch who enjoys being a part of KU I mean really enjoys playing for Coach Self and doing what he can - - Doing the Dirty work nobody else wants to do. The block , the Charge , the loose Ball the rebound If I Coached a team I would love for Mitch to be part of that team. - I just don't get the ill feelings towards him, the hatred seeing him on the floor. Everyone has a part to play - -Mitch's part is the un-seen , the non glamorous things - the dirty work. - Dam Mitch doesn't need to score - or shouldn't have to Score - - we so I've been told we have plenty of Scorers we should have to rely on Mitch for that ever -- I just don't get it Dam
