Self would have to do someone, either Dave or Cam Martin most likely, extremely dirty to make that happen and I don't think Self has the character of forcing out a ready to play person for someone else.

The profile of who Self has forced out has always either been discipline issue players or development players. Sydney Curry being a development player made sense to force out to make room for Ochai returning. Unless Self thinks Cam Martin just is incapable of competing in the Big 12, I don't like what Self would have to do to bring in Kofi Cockburn.

You & me either one. Our roster is Set. Sure Kofi would be a HUGE pick up - - but the situation is just not right , even for him. Coach is not forcing Dave out. The kid has worked to hard , and think Coach well , he is just not that type of guy. Cam Martin if something WERE to happen probably would be the one & even that would be a complete D - - - move at this stage. Really in a way when it's said and done wouldn't entirely surprise me if he didn't return to Illinois. If not there then probably Kentucky. - Just for grins , has this kid made some kind of announcement as to whe he might be picking a School.

Would love to have him but not at the price of having to Sacrafice Dave - - Just not right

that's good to hear for sure. now he would have to sit IF again IF he somehow wound up here right ?- -Now if immediate play would be his case then we know he would not be coming because were full for this year no Scholli's available. - - -I think once again here is yet ANOTHER kid that ends up in Kentucky - -now that sucks. KU is a legitimate national title contender next season. That is the ceiling for this team is cutting the nets down in New Orleans.

As for the roster, I think the starting line up ends up being R. Martin, JCL, Agbaji, Wilson, and McCormack. I think the primary reserves will be Yesufu, Braun, and C. Martin with Dejuan Harris and Zach Clemence fighting for rotation level minutes as well, but the two most likely to get squeezed if Self goes 8 deep. I think Pettiford and Adams find themselves on the outside looking in as far as the rotation goes and end up as possible redshirt candidates. I believe Kyle Cuffe will be a for sure redshirt this year since he's coming in a year early and needs time to develop.

As far as the Big 12, there's one more puzzle piece for sure out there that can affect the Big 12 and that's Marcus Carr. Marcus Carr in Austin makes them a top 5 team and a national title contender as well. Baylor will take step back, but still a borderline top 10 team. West Virginia should also be a top 20 team and would've been a top 10 team had McBride returned. Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma St. should still be tournament caliber teams. TCU could sneak into being a bubble team, and KSU and ISU will both be garbage and Bruce Weber will be fired after this season.

I think Remy Martin ends up winning Big 12 POY and leads the team in scoring and assists. Dave and Ochai will also earn All-12 honors and Wilson and JCL will be honorable mentions this year.

I recently saw an article of 247 Sports that Carr is also now considering over seas's pro options saying he is considering all scenario's

I agree Coach likes the things Mitch brings to the floor. The # 1 thing ? - - - - Hustle - willing to get dirty , willing to take that charge , Shot blocker I'll never get over that he blocks as many as HE DOES block , never ever looked at him in that perspective. -- He blocks more then I would of imagined. - Not alot , not saying that but his ability to rcover after getting beat on D is crazy blocking the shot from behind and blocking some for others.

Mitch has no problem doing the dirty work -- Mitch doesn't need the lime light , glamour -that's the difference between him and some of the others as to where they think where they are more concerned just trying to score. Mitch isn't that guy. Mitch is a guy that does or at least tries to do what the team needs - -the little dirty things. I'd take me a Mitch any day of the week. Teams needs guys like that , believe it or not plays a vital piece on a team in his own way. -That's why Coach has no problem putting him on the floor. Coach loves these types of guys who is willing to sacrafice - Mitch will get his minutes probably round 10 minutes I think.

Question , how many minutes do we think Cam gets to play ? - - I think we COULD seed him if conditions warrant I could see in some games 10-13 minutes a game behind Dave. - he is a Big that can stretch the floor , I think there might come sometimes in the year we need a guy like that who can stretch the floor pull opposing teams Big's out stretch the floor. - -I think he MIGHT just be like a little surprise player to some opposing teams. The big question with him is going to be - -can he defend at the P-5 level ? - -He defend D-2 but there is big difference. I still think he just might be a little more valuable through the year then some think - For sure can shoot from outside - going to be interesting with this roster , how some players pan out.

Agree Ochai is I think Gone. - -whether it be in G league stint or over sea's I just really feel his KU days are done. - -Bottom line is I don't really think there is a lot more ceiling for him , I think he hasa almost reached what he is what he has got. - - Pretty good College player - - ( at times ) other times you would even know he was on our roster

You stop and think about it , the doorway to the NBA is pretty narrow. I mean you got 60 players drafted out of how many hopefuls ? - -there is just not a lot of room for error. - -He just not quite good enough to make the roster , like so many others seeking NBA kind of a tweener , pretty good College but not quite Good enough for the NBA. we have seen it before Yet there is still enough various Leagues around and like i said over sea's there is room for money to be made.

Who know ? - -maybe in a couple of years he MIGHT improve his skills enough where he can give it another shot. Yet he can be making SOME kind of money while working on those things he needs to improve on. - -I just don't see him coming back. TCU will have a total of NINE new players , 8 - - from Transfers & a signing.

Jamie pick up 2 from Texas A & m. , Peavy from Texas Tech transferred there , Damion Baugh from Memphis transferred there , & Jakobe Coles from Butler - -A kid from Vanderbilt. - -Then they signed it said one of the top Juco Big men - -Souleymone , Doumbet - -Jamie tryint to get mean lol - a couple of nice additions though fro real

I don't really care about the pot stuff with Salter, but there's some chatter (it's all secondhand so won't repeat stuff that might not be true) he's just not a good locker room guy. He's definitely talented and maybe worth a gamble though. But I don't think he's in play for KU.

ya I think we are probably hearing the same thing. What I had been hearing was those other things had been dropped. - I just don't know , I mean the kid is obviously talented but might be a Cancer. Could be change of enviroment/Surroundings - might make a difference. Just don't think we can at this point take that risk. - Like you said also I'm not even sure if KU has reached out at all. - Been hearing Juco's all over him though

KU has absolutely acknowledged violations happened in their case. KU isn't denying money changed hands with any of the three players named in the NCAA's accusations. What KU is fighting is the status of Adidas being considered a booster, which the NCAA seemingly forced KU to do to advance the Silvio DeSousa eligibility case.

This is a made for TV event and KU/Kentucky is the highest profile game possible so it's going to happen as much as possible. Kentucky still leads the all time series 23-10 over KU and I'd love to close that gap as much as possible.

Ya I know about how the series is probably because they have been the better team I would imagine. This is a series backed by ESPN who has a huge amount of input into the match ups. ESPN wants ratings and few match ups generate the ratings that a Kansas/Kentucky game does. Games like this are also the best way to prepare for the pressure of the NCAA Tournament because of the amount of attention and media presence this match up generates that no other SEC opponent generates.
