Actually ya know I found myself where I really couldn't get overly upset I mean ya , I was PO for a minute but like if this would of been last years team and this happened then I would be hot 1st game or not. - I mean yes sir we made a lot well not overly but plenty of mistakes but I think these are things that can be fixed.

We know Dave isn't Doke, but he's also not going to shoot 3-9 every game either. This is where losing Silvio is going to hurt the most because what's going to hurt Dave the most is not having another legit big to practice against everyday. Silvio was going to be that guy, but now it's an undersized Mitch or a too skinny Gethro guarding Dave in practice.
Not having Silvio also means that Mitch can't play the 4 next to Dave and help on defense which is Mitch's biggest strength on defense.
With the length KU has, I'd like to see Self develop a zone defense to take advantage of KU's perimeter length. Not something to run all the time, but it can be weaponized to great effect to disrupt the other team.
that might be a good idea. Doubt it's going to happen but it would be worth a shot i think
@Texas-Hawk-10 Agree - - just really don't think you will see better then these two. Actually i mean I knew they were good but kind of under estimated them myself - really good. might of been a little with our lack of defense but still really good

I think he ought to maybe get some more minutes - - I think he might be a little more valuable on the offensive stretch the floor a little more - only thing that would be a liability he just doesn't have the body frame/bulk to play exclusive.

McCormack once he got that 1st foul you might as well taken him out then as he just played like he was too afraid to pick the 2nd lay up after lay up against him.
I liked the fight , the way the guys came back- but just costly turnovers , no defense, getting beat back down the flor.
Wilson done some good things but he also hurt us at critical time too. - Things I think we will get better at were going to be all right - knew they would score quite a bit they love to score - - alot. - have to look at it as just one game - -I forgot we turn around and play again tomorrow - - time to go to work get these things ironed out now. I wonder how long Nembhard has practiced with the starting group? Yes... he's got the overall experience needed but not with this squad. Since this is game 1 of the season, I'm doubtful Few will have his squad anywhere up to speed with their high-powered offense. I think Nembhard and Suggs will be challenged by Garrett to the point of having it hard to run offense at their tempo. Having Marcus at point is new for us and having him settle down in that position, with his defensive prowess creates an unknown result. It could be as positive as making KU an almost impossible team to beat (if everyone behind Marcus locks down). I'm thinking teams that count heavily on their PG creating offense and setting tempo will have a harder time than teams that run a lot of offense outside of the hands of their PG.
Of course... lots of question marks on the KU squad, too.
I'm hoping for a very hard-fought, close game going back and forth and down to the wire. It could go the other way and one team just come out flat and be smashed like a pancake. Hope that team isn't us!
no matter how stacked they are /Gonzaga STILL their 1st game too. I think there is a lot of people writing Ku off before they ever step on the floor. - -This is why they play the game just not giving teams a W on paper right ? - Now I'm a realist too I would have to say that true the percentages probably favor the Zags for sure - -but that's not to say we have no Chance - -ya know ? - -Hell there is a percentage that I might be the next Pope too lol.
I will say that I don't see any way that we get blown out of this game like some seems that that could happen , again I could be the Pope - if we lose I'm looking more like 7-8 points, ya they have more talent - doesn't mean we are the YMCA with talent,
The one BIG thing that worries me they do have a lot of depth in the Big's and I'm afraid that's where we very easily got get beat up pretty bad. - they have 3 Big's- -& we have Dave - -then Mitch , and only Lord knows I like me some Mitch but bulk wise frame wise he just can't match up inside with these guys, and Dave has had a tendency to get in foul trouble - -that can not just happen for us to have any chance.
Having said all that I'm ready for College Basketball roll the ball out and let's see what happens - -win or lose I'm ready to ROCK & Roll

It will be very interesting for sure. - The one thing is Gonzaga lost 4 out of their top 5 scorers, as talented as they are they to have a lot of un known answers at this point, They have plenty of talent there is no doubt , they have Size and i think that's going to be a huge issue - lots of fouls to give.
Yet that's why we play the game , it's not like KU doesn't have talent maybe not the quality but it's not like we are a bunch of bums - -that's why they play the game. Teams may look crazy on paper - -how does that play out on the floor ? It gets there, but he tends to leave it high. I like the athleticism too. Shows some escapability. Not a guy that could probably play next year or even the year after, but he’s an intriguing prospect. I believe we could land him if we really push.

Hope you can break this kid down for me Farmer, I'll tell you what I DID see and see what you think OK : - - 1st thing i see is size 6'6 really good size for QB seems like even with our current QB - his height is a hinderence having a lot of passes batted back -Hawley being 6'6 seems like for sure wouldn't have that problem.
2nd : Seems like he has decent mobility evading sacks , 3rd seems like he is pretty decent throwing on the run - -rollouts and such
4th thing I noticed seems like he can find his receivers pretty well no matter on the run or not pretty decent accuracy - - seems like he throws a decent to say the least deep ball on the run or sitting up. - -So now here is the question - - Am I just insanely off on the kid - -fairly close ? - -or am i just missing it on this kid ?

I've tried looking a that and I just can't see that happening - -IF we lose which we very easily could, I don't see a blow out - -I would be looking more in reality of a 8-9 point loss. I just really can't see double digits - -could be my Crimson showing through. I just think it will be close. If KU wins i can't see it being more then a 4-5 point win, i just hope they get to play.

Well believe it or not - this dam thing just keeps getting worse. - - The weekly COVID for Kansas/ Topeka. Since last Friday we sit another record. - - we have 7,526 new cases since Friday - - 46 New Deaths - - & 95 New Hospitalizations - - 7,526 NEW CASES.
Stormont Vail Hospital here in Topeka had 200 employees gone from work Monday , now have 103 INPATIENT COVID. - -The Kansas Hospital Assoc reported showed that 44 % of all State Hospitals will be under staffed this week.
Gove kelly has put in a request to President Trump to extend the National Guard assistance for testing and helping delivering supplies and such. - -there is 888 staffed ICU beds 565 i use and 240 being used for COVID. - -Stormont saying they gonna to have to look into transferring patients - but that has issues cause other Hospitals full also.
On tp of everything else now are we not only fighting the COVID but Hospitals now starting to see the FLU coming in. - Right now they said they are showing 0.022 coming in for FLU & 8.2 % for the COVID

I Agree - -we should not be going after Harbaugh , not that we are. I know it may not seem like it but Les is getting the players in place , the talent level is getting better for sure - -his 21 class seems real solid, we have to get some continuity if we keep rolling Coach's very 2-3 years I just don't see how you can expect any Recruits to commit when they never know from one year to the next who will be the Coach.
Les started here practically Rock Bottom - - With Beaty and all the Juco's screwed us - - I think it is working/slowly but surely - -Now is not the time to be Switching out Les.
