The Women’s soccer team had the 1941 “angry” Jayhawk at mid field out at rock chalk park for the KSU game. I hope we can do the same for Saturday. Get the white helmet with them on there as well! Man I’m ready for Saturday, I just hope I’m not setting myself up for a huge let down.

@Kcmatt7 I agree look at what ESPN+ is doing right now. A KU fan can get a pregame show, a post game, hawk talk and the game if it’s on the ESPN network. I can watch them on my phone, computer or TV . Which is handy with little kids like I got. I’d be fine Fox sports did something similar. If I could get all sports for $20 give or take a bit, I’d be cool with it. The internet is what’s expensive here in the middle of nowhere ($105 a month for average service) lol.

Do we owe Beaty money? • Oct 30, 2019 06:41 PM

@approxinfinity David Beaty is a heck of a nice guy. I met him once a few years back at a KU basketball game and he was cool. I personally think he did the best he could but was in way over his head from the beginning and ended up pretty much wasting 4 years here. I know we have looked at avenues to not pay him with his unapproved coach. But I think we should still pay the man because it’s the right thing to do.

My Nats. • Oct 30, 2019 06:36 PM

The chiefs packers Sunday night game has blown away every World Series game thus far in ratings. Which is kinda crazy considering Houston, I believe is the third or fourth biggest city in this county and it’s been a pretty good series from the little I’ve watched . I don’t like regular season baseball, too many guys standing and not even hustling a bit. But usually the month of the regular season and post season is entertaining.

Brent Dearmon appreciation thread • Oct 30, 2019 06:31 PM

@jayballer73 Pooka does a little too much dancing and reversing of field at times for sure but he is just trying to find some daylight. On one play Saturday he broke 3 tackles and reversed field to get back to the line of scrimmage. I just looked at our attendance numbers from 2017 and KSU game was our most attended game by a fair amount with just under 37,000 fans. Which was considerably more than any game last season as well.

Brent Dearmon appreciation thread • Oct 30, 2019 06:20 PM

@jayballer73 The last couple of times they’ve been in Lawrence, there was definitely most State fans than KU fans but with how much more full it’s been on the average game especially the student section, I’d be shocked if it isn’t at least 65% KU.

Dotson Day to Day • Oct 30, 2019 06:10 PM

Sounds like Moss is still a long ways out. He has a hamstring issue, those and groin issues seem to take a long time to get worked out. I’m starting to worry with him not practicing, if we will see him before conference play begins.

Brent Dearmon appreciation thread • Oct 30, 2019 06:06 PM

The weather is supposed to be fairly nice as well with highs in the low 50s and sunny.

Brent Dearmon appreciation thread • Oct 30, 2019 06:04 PM

@FarmerJayhawk we have been getting right around 32,000 so far so I bet a few more hawks show up and probably about 8,000- 10,000 Mildcats.

Brent Dearmon appreciation thread • Oct 30, 2019 05:11 PM

Man I wish I could go!! I honestly think this could be the biggest crowd in a decade. I’d be shocked if less than 45,000 folks showed up.

Brent Dearmon appreciation thread • Oct 30, 2019 04:53 PM

@jayballer73 hard to predict a KU victory, with how the series has gone here recently. Tho I thought we’d get spanked last season and really had a couple of bogus holding calls help KSU. That worries in the sense they will be ready this time and they have a ton of momentum.

Brent Dearmon appreciation thread • Oct 30, 2019 03:23 PM

@jayballer73 it will be an interesting matchup. KSU really wants to run the football and we have struggled to stop it. We must force Thompson into throwing situations. Yes we will need to spy him all game long, which worries me because we have struggled versus running QBs for 30 years. Going back and watching the Texas tape, seeing how Sam killed us on 3rd and long with his feet will hopefully get us a better idea of hope to contain. We should be able to move the ball as Baylor and OU both put up big numbers on this KSU Defense, OU just had zero help defensively. Keys for me are winning 3rd down on both sides of the ball, which we did against Tech. Winning the turnover battle is a must and fixing the field goal protection. Every team left on our schedule is licking their chops on special teams because they have a chance at a big play. I think if we can hold them to 30 points are less we have a fair chance at a win.

Well

Brent Dearmon appreciation thread • Oct 29, 2019 10:36 PM

Here we are headed into November and we are still not only talking about KU football but in a positive manor. How about Brent Dearmon? He’s only 3 weeks (2 games) into debut offensive coordinating job at not only a D1 school but a power 5 school. Man I’m trying to contain my excitement for what this team could be in a a year or two. First time since 2009 since KU has had that offensive output in back to back games. Good enough to rank 3rd in all of FBS in that time frame. I really hope this guy loves Lawrence as much as we enjoy having him because if he can keep this thing going, he could very easily be the head coach in waiting a few years down the line. Thank you coach, you made Kansas football worth watching again.

@FarmerJayhawk Yep both have plenty of Corruption. The left and the right wing belong to the same bird.

@FarmerJayhawk Been saying that for years and people just aren’t smart enough on either side to see it.

Cable cutters • Oct 28, 2019 03:55 AM

@dylans It is a interesting issue for sure. I think the channels make most of their profits from commercials. Which will help the balance as long as people are streaming it some way. I had DirectTV for a couple of years and to the sports channels. Which is all I watch besides HGTV and History it $125 a month. I have Sling now and its $40 for every ESPN and Fox Sports channel. The trouble is the companies are realizing streaming is where the money is. So folks like Disney and NBC are removing content from Netflix and Hulu so they can do there own. So if someone wants to watch multiple shows and movies before long, they will have to pay subscriptions to 3 or 4 companies.

Great job as always @wrwlumpy. The drive from Pittsburgh to Lawrence is better than the drive from Hays lol. To be honest I don't care much for southeast Kansas. Its pretty run down and full of hicks. Reminds of Missouri too much lol.

Texas tech • Oct 28, 2019 03:45 AM

@jayballer73 We are competing better IMO. Especially when you figure that we returned a mere 9 guys. I think last years club was more talented especially defensively. Add in Herbert quitting on his team and several injuries. It would hard to expect much more. We only have 1 embarrassing loss to TCU so far. We really only had 3 embarrassing losses last year.

Super Bowl I rematch (?) • Oct 28, 2019 03:41 AM

McCoy should be cut or traded at this point. His continued holding of the ball with one hand away from his body is insanely stupid. He has had fumble issues his whole career because of it. They traded Hyde who appears to be much better. That fumble was the difference coupled with being to scared to run press coverage on a 3rd and 5. Doesn't seem to smart to line up 8 yards off the ball when they need 5. That was pitch and catch for Rodgers. I honestly wonder if Sorenson has pictures of Hunt with someone else's wife because he's never been an NFL caliber player nor will he ever be. Matt Moore played fairly well and the game was closer than expected because of it. Everyone but the Chargers lost again today so it really didnt hurt too much.

Texas tech • Oct 28, 2019 03:34 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 they definitely have to get the protection fixed on FGs if they want to win again. If not for your buddy Koenning we probably have 5 wins. I still say my 4 win prediction to the year most likely happens. I just hope we win this Saturday.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 02:53 PM

@Kcmatt7 Yep, last years average attendance was just over 19,000 and had a few games where the announced attendance was 14,000. This year we are averaging over 32,000.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 04:38 AM

@FarmerJayhawk you deliver??

O' Chubby Ankles • Oct 27, 2019 04:36 AM

@BShark I actually think he had upside and with Vick quitting. It anyone we could've had may have helped.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 03:31 AM

@Kcmatt7 that and Tech continued to throw the ball late with a lead and averaging 5 yards per carry. That's asking for trouble, two eaches own my friend.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 03:25 AM

@Kcmatt7 I agree that the offense was stagnant in the first but 2 drops were killer and we was open deep all night long. Stanley missed too long twice. I feel like we didnt execute easy plays early and Tech was fortunate on several plays. Two fairly even teams IMO. If KU starts better and doesnt lose Bryce, it's a 10 or 14 point KU win.

O' Chubby Ankles • Oct 27, 2019 03:01 AM

@BShark I dont mind one every now and then but a team of rejects from elsewhere shouldnt ever be KU basketball. If Vick stayed gone we wouldve had more because Sam Cunliff wouldve stayed.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 02:58 AM

@Kcmatt7 I'm not sure why you would say we didnt deserve it. The first block kick should've been a penalty be the guy was clearly on someone's back. The announcers pointed it out plain as day in the replay on TV. The defense rose up to the challenge and got big stops. We had more yards in less plays. I hate to be a dick but why didnt we deserve that one?

Umm don't look now but K-State • Oct 27, 2019 02:55 AM

We really had chance to be right with OU had we made a few simple plays and the was with the worse OC in the game.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 02:54 AM

Harbaugh is finally gonna get a top 10 win over Notre Dame who really shouldn't be in the top 10 lol.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 02:50 AM

Will be an up hill battle to get there this late in the year and minimal room for error. Either way I'm very proud of this team and how they have battled every second.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 02:48 AM

@BShark we are probably bowl eligible right now with Dearmon and fair officials last week.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 02:42 AM

KSU will be super tough but OU ran all over them, they just had no defense. You gotta credit our defense without one of the key guys in Bryce. How about Carter Stanley 725 yards, 7 touchdowns and 1 pick in the last 2 weeks. Easily the best 2 game stretch since Ressing. I'm ready for next now, it wont be easy tho. Gonna be a war!!

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 02:31 AM

What A GAME, one crazy ending.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 02:11 AM

Come on defense, another stop please!

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 02:02 AM

I thought they was gonna call that a horse collar and I was gonna lose it lol

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 01:57 AM

I wouldve gone for personally, that cut block was right on the edge of the pocket and a very questionable call.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 01:49 AM

Gonna have to do it again, may end up being like last week. Just can leave that much time on the clock

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 01:42 AM

Just think if we had this OC all season. Les Koening maybe the worst coordinator in Kansas football history. Hopefully the defense can get another stop.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 01:35 AM

Love to see a long drive to give the defense some rest here

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 01:31 AM

Big stop D!, let's go offense

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 01:25 AM

@nwhawkfan could, I doubt the defense can get enough stops but who knows. We need a turnover in a bad way right here.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 01:24 AM

@Woodrow Carter the last 2 weeks and the BC game has looked like one of the best QBs we've had not counting Ressing.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 01:21 AM

Gotta gave 6 here or we probably are done

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 01:00 AM

Defense needs a TO badly

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 12:55 AM

Defense has to do something here, that wont work, way too easy.

Texas tech • Oct 27, 2019 12:15 AM

Why was that not reviewed? Offense must score every touch from here on out and hope the D can force FGs.

Texas tech • Oct 26, 2019 11:20 PM

Shit call there, tech player lowered his into Bryce

Texas tech • Oct 26, 2019 11:16 PM

Offense needs a spark, hopefully defense can get another stop

Texas tech • Oct 26, 2019 03:55 AM

I really wished I was....
