I'm disappointed in the effort tonight but as I've said before its been the perfect storm to dethrone us.
@DanR KSU stood around on offense and didnt move the ball so no I dont call that playing hard. OU shot well yes but if KU just hustled down the floor to prevent wide open dunks and layups (which would've lessen that%) they would've had a chance to win. Read Jarred Hasse's book floor burns and watch tape of him then rewatch this game, I'll bet you'll change your mind. No team plays hard all 40 but playing hard for 4 wont win anything this time of year.
Before we all get angrier and angrier tonight, let's remember no ones done this before and it likely wont be repeated.
Anyone that thinks this KU team plays hard should be checked into a mental hospital. Simple question: Teams that are playing hard seldom get beat down the floor? True or False? We got beat down the floor for layups at least 10 times tonight.

TCU probably just blew what little shot they had, missed a ft, then KSU missed and got the rebound on a jump ball. I've only watched a couple minutes but KSU is playing 10x harder that TCU maybe Dixon hates KU. I just can't believe a team fighting for a tournament berth would have so little give a crap.

@Kcmatt7 I doubt you'll see the champions classic or some of the good tournaments go away but you may see teams not go quite as hard in finding good games. We may not play a Villanova type team in a couple of years and replace that game with a cupcake but I also know Self likes good SOS so who knows.
@BeddieKU23 Right and I like that idea, teams like Oklahoma from last year had no business being in IMO but I wish it would reward SOS a little more. I think Houston's a solid team but a 106th SOS shouldn't get rewarded with a great seed. At this point we would better off smoking crappy team than risking losses to good teams.
@wissox Right, at this point if you can't beat this team thats as much pieced together as any I can remember at Kansas, when will you? There is a good chance we return everyone that's playing good minutes outside Dedric. We are setup pretty good for the next 2 or 3 seasons depending on whom stays and goes. If we can tie for the title this season, the streak realistically could reach 17 or 18 IMO. Obviously that's without any sanctions and with the way that looks 15 straight maybe be a short celebration if it even happens.
@dylans lol you never know. My moms side of the family used to do a bracket challenge up until a few years ago and that side of the family is huge (mom has 7 brothers and sister all with at least 2 kids but 1), I've won it several times. But the only time my mom has ever won was when she picked on who's team color she liked better. One of our office gals at work won last year because she was the only one to pick Loyola to the FF and called the UMBC upset by picking on mascots as well. One time my nephew won because he picked Butler to the NC because he thought their name was funny and that was the year they lost to Dook in the NC. Sometimes I think it's better to not know and guess lol. We can crunch numbers all day but in the end you can't predict someone getting hot for 30 or someone that averages 20 going cold and getting 5 points.
@KUSTEVE I think we can get there as a 2 seed but we have to win both conference titles to do so. Be a little bit of revenge for us playing in Cali in 07 as a 1 seed, lol never mind we are kansas, it won't happen.
@BeddieKU23 The rating systems are weird to me anyway lol. I probably like Kenpom the best but even it makes me scratch my head at times, like right now ISU and Wisconsin are ahead of in their rankings. Crazy that an ISU team with a worse conference record and lower SOS is higher. The 2 worst brackets I've ever done I picked one off of RPI and one off of Kenpom.
@Kcmatt7 Nice job, I agree. We need to Tech to lose to help us get into the Midwest and have a chance in the conference. MSU still as a 2 is shocking to me and I think them and LSU will help us out a bit. KSU should really be a 4 or 5, I know their non conference was weak but dang hard to imagine a team winning this conference (even if it's shared) and getting a 6 seed.
It's really unbelievable when you sit down and think about us still having a chance to win the conference at this point. With injuries to some of our best players and one starter down for most of the season, one guy that really looked to be coming into his own in SDS stuck in NCAA limbo and suspended. Had a senior that was given a second chance but decided to go rogue on his team. We don't have a single starter still playing from last years team at this point and haven't for sometime. I thought we would have tons of depth and good experience with this club but it hasn't worked out that way. Crazy to think that one of those 4 freshman starting was a red shirt player that was ranked 145th in his class. I still say we are a 2 loss team if we had the club that we should've had this season. The good news is that anything can happen in March. It's like my old coach used to say "why not us?" KSU went on a good run last year short handed and with arguably less talent than we currently are sporting.
@Texas-Hawk-10 If they win the title out right, there will be T-Shirts on the subject about stopping KUs streak. We will all feel better next fall when the jayhawks spank them on the gridiron.
@jayballer73 I hope you are correct, my biggest fear is that KSU will win the dang thing out right. They may name that gym after Weber if they do so lol.
They need to decide if the freedom of movement rules are gonna be a consistent thing, it seems those foul calls are on and off several times during a game. The reviews need a time limit and less of them would be nice.
