HISTORY LESSON - 51 YEARS AGO TODAY • Mar 12, 2017 08:25 PM

A picture surfaced a few years after, that showed his heel up. Lucky Texas Western was, could've very well cost us a NC.

@Ralph I can't remember Dick doing any NCAA tournament games. He works for ESPN which is owned bye ABC. The tournament is on CBS and their affiliates.

Anyone watching UK vs Arkansas? It's getting ugly very ugly as in Arkansas has had some hard fouls and a guy ejected.

@Crimsonorblue22 correct

Ball Family • Mar 12, 2017 04:48 AM

@jayballer54 I didn't quite get it myself. Why? Yes the Ball kid at UCLA is doing good but they lost in the PAC12 tournament and finished 3rd in the regular season. I'm not sure I've seen this much attention for players that haven't proved a whole helleva lot to this point. The dad is half the issue, no way Ball is better than Curry right outta the gate, maybe after a few years

@Crimsonorblue22 The Kinnamon kid on KSU's roster is from MACs coaches brother, his kid goes to Pitt sate or FHSU I cant remember. KSU is heavy in Mac, but I know Kinnamon goes to Bill Selfs coaching seminars.

@BShark def KSU territory, and it hard to gauge how good the teams are that he plays against but I think he could be a good get for a 4 guy. Guys like Morningstar, Reed, Trelly guys from Kansas that weren't really highly recruited by ended up being good players for us.

Next recruit up • Mar 12, 2017 03:34 AM

@BShark I think Pyle could be a Travis Releford type of guy. Watch Lightfoot and Ellis's highschool tapes. Then watch him and tell me he ain't just as good or better. Honestly I think he's as good as Lightfoot at this time.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 12, 2017 02:13 AM

@cragarhawk I agree but we haven't made it outta the first weekend 2 of the last 3 years. If we don't this year that'd be 3 of 4 which will anger me very much.

Next recruit up • Mar 12, 2017 01:59 AM

@cragarhawk I don't think so, but they have Lester Earl's kid. I watched some it on the web and that Pyle kid put up 25 vs guys getting D1 offers. Mac had their chances BM is just too big and athletic.

Next recruit up • Mar 12, 2017 01:54 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 McPherson is gold standard in highschool basketball, ik in hutch you probably don't like them but their coach does the best with way less talent. Made 21 of the last 25 state tournaments.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 12, 2017 01:52 AM

ISU wins a good game vs WVU to win 3 of the last 4 B12 tournaments. We need to pick it up, this is in our own backyard. They really haven't done jack but 1 sweet 16 in the dance in that time period, but I like to win lol.

Next recruit up • Mar 12, 2017 01:39 AM

I tell you what there is a 6'7 kid from McPherson that is junior this year, that I've watched play a few times named Ben Pyle that looks better than Perry Ellis did in highschool. We need to give him a look I think.

@MoonwalkMafia great post, we would've most likely lost to ISU today anyway with Frank playing every minute yesterday. I've always said in the conference tournament I want to lose first game and rest or win the darn thing and get some mo. In-between those two means little to nothing IMO. The issue is for me is the complacent play with a lead, we had done it so much, some say it's just us resting with a short bench. TCU proved to me you can't do that against even an average team or it could bite you. Just off the top of my head we blew leads of double digits and let the opposing team tie or take back the lead-Duke, TCU, Davidson, KSU, UNLV (didn't come back to tie it but had a 30 point lead trimmed to 9), TT, and ISU. When you do it so many times it's becomes a trend and has cost us some wins, which obviously can't happen again.

I love the all the hate towards Knight,I think he went a little far but most don't like their former employer. At least he has the balls to say what he feels. I personally hate sugar coating stuff, I ain't Willy Wonka. Even if it's a hard truth I'll take over the soft baby BS of today's world.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 11, 2017 05:03 AM

@cragarhawk I don't think they should because of the typewriter maintenance league non conference schedule. With TCU, California, Indiana, Seton Hall (not really a bubble team but should've beat Nova to get to championship) and Houston all bubble teams out going into today, with them losing they have a good shot getting in. It's pretty much between them and Illinois State IMO for that final spot. I'd choose Illinois State if it was me, they have a better RPI and have lost 2 games to WSU and thats it since before Christmas. While as KSU limped in to the post season, even with the Baylor win they have lost 6 of 10, including 3 at home.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 11, 2017 04:20 AM

WVU comes back from 12 down in an ole big east looking game to win 51-50.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 11, 2017 03:59 AM

@cragarhawk yes it was quite funny, all year UNC was everyone's team to beat. You said they'd spank us and we wanted no part of them. Then after we spanked them a UNC fan on ESPN posted "I told you idiots we wanted no part of kansas" lol.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 11, 2017 02:20 AM

@BeddieKU23 UNC is a typical Roy team, can't guard and won't win jack if shots aren't falling.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 11, 2017 01:50 AM

Fran talking about how KSU should be in with no bad loses, Mac college played a tougher early season schedule.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 11, 2017 01:34 AM

@HawkChamp Nova got some very questionable calls down the stretch. But Seton Hall missed a bunny as time expired.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 11, 2017 01:02 AM

The trouble yesterday was flat out not competing on defense or the glass. ISU is spanking TCU.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 11, 2017 12:29 AM

@dylans I would say so. If KSU and TCU lose tonight, which I'm betting on I bet we only get 5. KSU is the last team in currently, if Indiana, TCU, California or Houston win I could see them getting bounced out or with Illinois State sitting second team out jumping ahead with KSU losing because they are 22 spots higher in RPI. KSU to me doesn't deserve the bid unless they win tonight, why reward mid major non conference schedule.

This Game Was Lost Weeks Ago • Mar 11, 2017 12:25 AM

@KUSTEVE we can always count on you to bring us up buddy.

This Game Was Lost Weeks Ago • Mar 11, 2017 12:25 AM

@brooksmd At times yes, JJ is the best Oad in terms of being engaged in games. I just wish he was better off the court.

This Game Was Lost Weeks Ago • Mar 10, 2017 10:54 PM

@REHawk Well said buddy. I'm with @globaljaybird this team doesnt play hard much outside of Mason and Lucas too many guys being flat out lazy. Defense and rebounding killed us last year and this team is worse at both bye a lot.

Congrats, Frank! • Mar 10, 2017 02:28 PM

Mason is now 9th on the all time scoring list, just 2 points behind 8th place Perry Ellis if anyone remembers him lol.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 10, 2017 02:16 PM

Espn has KSU as the last team in so if they dont win today, they have to sweat sunday and see what happens with other teams.

I personally think itss silly to compare in this way, different teams, different conferences and years.

KU Penalized #3 OVERALL Seed • Mar 10, 2017 04:39 AM

@MoonwalkMafia I agree, we have lost several times early as the top seed. Last year we had a terrible draw with that seed. I want KC, that's all but to be honest idk if we can make it that far to begin with.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 10, 2017 04:31 AM

Baylor looks like us sleep walk til the final few minutes, hopefully our guys are watching to see again that don't work.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 10, 2017 04:23 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 ya doubt the new ad would fire him right away to start with.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 10, 2017 04:21 AM

Looks like KSU is gonna beat Baylor and get in the dance rather easily. Just made the day a little crappier. Semi finals- ISU vs TCU and KSU vs WVU.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 10, 2017 03:56 AM

WVU handles Texas, Baylor playing terrible and down to KSU in the second.

So Lately... • Mar 10, 2017 03:24 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 good

So Lately... • Mar 10, 2017 02:02 AM

Man did Lightfoot piss me off today, as wide open as a guy can get and travels....

How a 16 defeats a 1 • Mar 10, 2017 02:01 AM

It's very simple to me,the one seed plays no defense whatsoever, has guys benched for stupidity, doesn't rebound and has too many turnovers.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 10, 2017 02:00 AM

I still think we get the one seed in the Midwest. UNC ain't gonna take the Midwest.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 11:28 PM

I hope Baylor crushes KSU, already hearing nosie from then losers.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 11:25 PM

Kinda feel bad for all our fans that paid for the whole weekend.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 11:11 PM

Does this hurt Frank for POY?

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:45 PM

I dont think there is any reason to panic, we didnt have our second best player and DG was off. Maybe because of an injury. I can understand why some of us arent happy, they played harder than we did for most of the game. I've said it a thousand times as does coach Self-rebounding is how you tell how hard you played, it 10% skill and 90% want to. I've also said the worst thing this team can do is get up early, we have blown leads of 10 points all season and for the second time it bit us in the butt. Hopefully its a lesson, YOU HAVE TO PLAY HARD EVERY MINUTE if you want to win in march period.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:30 PM

Everyone's blaming Svi for a silly foul but DG and Vick didn't do too much themselves. Svi at least put up 18 DG was ice cold and Vick airballed a 1 foot shot late.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:20 PM

3 stupid plays in the final minute, Mason with a lob 6 feet too high to Vick, Svi driving in to 3 guys for a turnover and Svi tackling a guy on a prayer that missed. The refs kept us in it anyway with cheap fouls.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:15 PM

Well at least we get rest I guess.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:13 PM

WSU is gonna stop our a**es

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:01 PM

We are getting every call you could pray for.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 09:48 PM

Let's just throw up 3s like crazy

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 09:24 PM

Sickening no heart no energy.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 09:19 PM

This team plays defense so bad I can't see them getting far.
