The refs always make it look scripted with silly or flat out wrong calls.

Stupid play calls there and a bad punt. Probably a tie game at the half and should be up at least a FG. Why to coaches over think the simplest decisions repeatedly.

Need to make it a two score game before half 3 is fine just need points. They can’t revert back to TDs or bust. Hasn’t worked in the past.

I don’t think there is any shame in losing a tight game to a ranked ISU team on the road. The thing that worries me going forward is 9/10 the team that is cutting down the nets has 2 things. Elite athletic NBA guards and great coaching. We don’t have elite NBA guards IMO at the moment. Kevin I think will get drafted but I highly doubt it’s first round. Juan as much as he can be a good player likely never steps foot on an NBA court.

@wissox I was not happy with Self on the T, it was by definition a flagrant 1. It wasn’t intentional but still was by the rules. It was fairly costly imo in the final score.

I was glad to see Juan get back to his form today. I hate to say it but he has been completely useless since conference play started. Today needs to be his average game. I wouldn’t complain if he took a few more shots but going 4/6 from the floor with 7 assists and only 2 turnovers. That’s what I expected on the average night out of him with his skill set and experience.

KJ has been working on his free throws and it’s starting to show IMO. I believe he started this season shooting in 30s from the line and he has upped it to the mid 60s now. I wasnt able to watch the second half so I’m not sure if he missed a few 1&1s or what but he was 7/10 on the day. I think most coaches would take that out of a big on the average night.

@benshawks08 spot on with the moving screens, like the refs were told to slow down on those calls. I don’t mind it when it’s obvious but it was getting pretty egregious at times over the last few years.

I agree that Hunter seems to be incapable of lateral movement at this time. Some if it maybe his knee issues, oddly enough the defense looked to be this teams strong suit early in the season. We just look so tired on that end of the floor. Very little movement, no communication and lack of awareness consistently.

I think this team would be a great group to run a 1-3-1 match up zone or a triangle and 2 zone. I think switching everything is gimmicky as hell and for teams that are incapable playing solid man to man defense. I think this team is similar in a lot of ways to the 2012 national runner ups. That team late in the season Self ran a triangle and 2 often. It worked very well for that group. Self is a great coach but some times him being set in his ways hurts us. He has to be able to adapt to what he has and his refusal to has hurt some good teams here.

This conference is just crazy competitive this year, several games decided by only a possession or two, we just need a few of the right teams to win.

I honestly think we need to scrap the switching on defense. It led to easy layups and dunks when Juan was switching to a bigger guy and the big guys gave up several 3s to guards. This isn’t working with this group.

@Texas-Hawk-10 maybe you guys know more about than me but I still don’t see players developing in the NBA. I see them overseas very quickly if they don’t have that 3 year contract.

I wouldn’t blame him if he is a lottery pick but like I always said about the NBA. They draft off of potential but do not give anyone time to develop that potential. Prime example is Gradey Dick I’ll bet anyone, any amount of money he never plays meaningful minutes after his 3 year rookie deal is up.

Self on post game that our on ball defense is terrible but we don’t have the personnel to change it and I agree with him. I read a guy on Facebook commenting that only 2 of our players would start across the top half of the conference and I think I agree with that. This team doesn’t have the horses plain and simple imo. I just want to beat KSU don’t care about anything else. This team is prob about 3rd worst in the self era. Everytime we hit the court the opposing team is bigger faster and Stronger.

Tech with a comeback win in Norman and they take control of the conference

I’m not shocked or even really mad we lost this one but makes the other 2 road losses, one we led by 16 very costly. Houston is definitely in the drivers seat after today. But we know the road is tough in this conference and they could easily drop a few more.

@MR11 defense has definitely been an issue since B12 play started. One thing to consider during the NCAA tournament commercial breaks and halftime are longer.
