Ay yi yi.
NOrl lost, but Diallo was 13 pts with 13 rebs (4 off, 9 def), 1 assist, 2 blks, 2 pfs, and ZERO turnovers. Might be turning a corner this year.
Right now, 4:35 pm CDT, San Antonio and New Orl are going down to the wire. 2 min left.
Denver & Brooklyn are just underway in the 2nd half Nets up 6. Who cares?
Here is a screenshot of the other playoff games. Highlight will be Josh vs Wayne!
(TIMES ARE EDT)
If Zion is an adidas player who attends adidas camps, then if he goes to Duke how does that fit into the oft-cited-but-unproven shoe-company-is-destiny theory?
No. Watson did.
@JayHawkFanToo Wouldn't you think they'd put it on ESPN News or something? Much of it was overblown (like Bill Murray, whose Cubs segment went on and on like 1976 SNL skits), but the Eunice Shriver Arthur Ashe award and the Perseverance award kid were pretty amazing. Way too much Peyton, tho. (Durant seemed to agree.)
Ball is, no thx to his dad, really good tonite!
With Ball's balls better, Ball's ballin' better.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I couldn't even get results for anything not announced by 11 pm edt. Gave up 20 mins ago! So, thx!
@Texas-Hawk-10 Is the broadcast still on? Not here. Switched to news.
@Crimsonorblue22 Redundant?
@JayHawkFanToo On that article: I laughed when I read it but forgot to edit. Imagine someone signing for the scale minus 80% ?
@Crimsonorblue22 and I and some others have been posting occasional updates in the Summer League thread over the past few days.
I still remember being royally P.O.ed when Vaughn had to wait until #27.
Update: Phoenix and Sacramento both won today (Wed) in the opening round. They move on. Schedules tba.
@JhawkAlum Please read his post, look back through this thread and the prior one about MU, and tell me how my prior posts were insulting? And how a comment like "circle jerk" gets no opprobrium from you HEM fans?
@globaljaybird Don't you think MU has enough idiots in residence already and problems aplenty?
According to @highelitemajor, this post of mine is insulting:
@HighEliteMajor I don't see you presenting any reasons for doing it except an emotional one, i.e., to renew the rivalry.
But if most fans don't want to do it, why should we? That would be illogical, unless you think the majority of fans should not be alliwed to express their preferences.
Finally, you do not give any answer to the entirely rational argument that there is no economic or recruiting benefit to KU. Your entire argumentation is rife with biting, sarcastic, caustic, and simply emotionally overwrought reactions to Bill Self's position on the matter. Maybe it is time to set emotions aside. Try it.
Can somebody please help me out on how this is insulting? From the guy who called someone "chicken" for saying he didn't want to play MU, and has labelled support of Bill Self on this board a "circle jerk"?
HEM, here is what an insult looks like: you are a complete and utter ass. I figure I get to do it since you have preemptively condemned me for it.
Dammit! Frank sprained an ankle in the first several minutes of the 1st qtr and is out for the game.
@Crimsonorblue22
2018 would be the only time we could do that (Hawaii again in Dec--for 18 days!), but we might sneak out to Lawrence this winter. Will let you know!
@Crimsonorblue22 Amount not revealed yet. Here is what the Sacramento Bee wrote on July 8 about the Kings signing their 1st rounders, as well as some info on contracts in general.
"The contract for Fox, the fifth overall pick in last monthβs NBA draft, is slated for $3.8 million. Jackson, the 15th pick, is set to earn $1.97 million, and Giles, taken at No. 20, $1.5 million.
"Those figures are the baseline, and teams can pay 80 percent less of that total or up to 120 percent more, which NBA teams routinely do.
"All rookie deals start with two years and team options for the third and fourth seasons."
The ESPN summer league home page has a couple of nice highlights of Josh Jackson, and one of a great assist from FM to a teammate for a big dunk.
Frank playing tonite vs Milwaukee. Sacramento hasn't won yet, so it would be nice!
@kjayhawks Hard to get there from here deep in SEC country (SC). But if we come there in a fall trip we will go to a game--unless it is sold out, of course. My wife is much more interested in getting to Allen Field House, so that is a bigger priority!
@kjayhawks Honestly, I got screwed up on trying to figure out what channel on which to watch last year (TW here changed some and dropped some) after being away until late Sept. By October when I had a chance to watch it was time to get discouraged. This year we aren't going anywhere until after Tgiving, so I will try to follow and cheer us on!
@KUSTEVE We have too many combos!
@Crimsonorblue22 Doke and Preston!
@HighEliteMajor I don't see you presenting any reasons for doing it except an emotional one, i.e., to renew the rivalry.

@justanotherfan "As for Obama being investigated, trust me when I say, there are people in the GOP that hate him enough that they would investigate him for anything if they thought they could make it stick."
Let's not forget how our current President, now claiming a 7 month investigation is the greatest witchhunt in history, promised for 5 years to provide evidence he claimed his investigators had uncovered proving that Obama was not born in the US.
As to the Clintons, don't forget Hillary's commodity trading. I spent almost three days reviewing tens of thousands of pages of investigative records of her trading advisor to determine (at the behest of GOP senators) whether any of her trades were involved in some of the things he had done. They weren't, but my agency alone spent about $25,000 just answering the fruitless fishing expedition. Hillary is literally the most investigated politician in history.
For all the crying by the right wing about resources sidetracked by this investigation, I urge a jump into the wayback machine to that urgent GOP-led impeachment trial about 18 years ago. Yep, certainly saved our country from clear and present danger there. What's a little foreign interference with our elections compared to that?
@BeddieKU23 Actually, they may have believed him about the payments, but (to summarize) found that the relationship and support Bamba received from his "mentor" passed their test of long-lasting (since 4th grade), continuous, and not arising out of the kid's athletic prowess.
Apparently Diallo's didn't.
Oh, and this guy is going to Texas, whom the NCAA would like to see resurrect its bb program. Forgot that.
@JayHawkFanToo Well, if they don't win the first 2, that is a good indicator, too. Either way, by game 3 we should know whether to get excited, stay mildly interested, or (for some of us) switch to our grad school alma maters (nice to have emergency alternatives).
brooksmd said:
All these power hitters going 0 for at the plate is not what crowd wants to see.
There was a lot of scoring in the Celebrity and Legends Softball game last night. Plus, Andre Dawson and Tim Raines hit HRs for a little trip down Expos memory lane. And, Jennie Finch is one of the prettiest retirees you will ever see!
@DoubleDD A more pertinent question for you is why you posted this topic if the intent is to put the idea to rest?
@brooksmd Lots of good pitching. Sano drove in Schoop with a seeing eye bloop single in the AL 5th. Molina hit a HR for the NL in the 6th to tie. Perez lined out and popped out. Vargas allowed a leadoff single, then a long drive to center field track was caught by Metts, who doubled the runner trying to advance to 2nd.
Where is the "jerk"?
I mean, since name-calling just because someone disagrees with you is not appropriate on this board, obviously "jerk" was left off. Jerk chicken is really really good. There is a great restaurant in St. Thomas in the USVI that makes it better than anywhere else I've tried.
@Crimsonorblue22 He played very well against summer league players, some of them second string summer league who will never play in the NBA.
Realistically, it was more like a college game and his offense looked like it did against schools who had no one quick enough to stop him. Regular League games will involve players who on average are faster, taller, and better defensively than what Frank saw last night. The stars are even better and quicker than that. And the shot blockers are better at it than even Bell was.
I love him, too, but he is not likely to ever be a starter in the NBA. I fear he will get bounced around for minimal contracts. I'd rather see him make millions overseas, even if it means I don't get to watch.
And if I am wrong, I will gladly eat the same size portion of crow as anyone (not me!) who said the Royals would never succeed under Yost.
@Kcmatt7 According to the article, Frank's experience and leadership could well be highly coveted in Europe, where they don't want to be stuck with "developing" younger guys. A few Jayhawks have made a lot of money over there. I could see Frank being one of them, and would much rather see that than have him be languishing for $25K in the D league, or the G league (isn't that just a new name for it?).
@jayballer54 I knew you had something to do with him being so good! Sorry, just kidding. He was amazing!
@Crimsonorblue22 The only problem for him was he stopped shooting and passed to a lot of guys making poor shot attempts at the end. Probably told by the coaches to involve the others. Worked with Hield (16 in 4th qtr!) but the others were worthless. Notice how he was the only guy giving up the ball?
Would need a coach willing to let FM take over. Still unsure if there is an NBA team willing to do so.
@kjayhawks Well, being crude and brash and over the top seems to work for some people in all types of endeavors where it used to be the kiss of death. Just sayin'.....
FM, soaked and exhausted, dejected after the 28 point comeback attempt fell 3 pts short, barely walking, still stopped on his way out through the tunnel and reached all the way up high to get paper and pen to sign an autograph for someone.
Kings can do well with FM/Hield backcourt.
@Crimsonorblue22 Unfortunately FM went into the corner and called for it. Should have bounced off the guy.
@Crimsonorblue22 So, people not watching this are missing an absolute classic BIFM statement. Leads the team in steals, points, assists (by 5), rebs (tie)--while being only 4th in mins.
Edit: written at 4:38 of 4th.
@Crimsonorblue22 That end of quarter drive by Frank gave me chills! I hope we get more flashbacks!
For example, see how crappy the starters for Sac have played:
@stoptheflop It is a really cool stat. It can show things like how a "glue guy" tends to be on the floor when his team is building a lead, even if his assists or points don't amount to much. Not a dispositive, but since there are no stats in a box score showing the guy who sets a screen, or makes the pass before the assist, or draws a charge, it can be fun to keep track of to see if those contributions are making a difference.
@stoptheflop +/- is the team's net point differential when that player was on the floor.
Or not. GN!
I stopped watching. Our only hope.
Ditto.
@Crimsonorblue22 How do you watch? Royals broadcast on a local station? Or MLB or ppv?
