I was frustrated last night (if you weren't, you probably shouldn't watch KU sports at all) - but notice there was no name calling or calling for heads. Yet.
I'm just trying to vent and keep things light.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Agree about Cozart. I'm on the fence about Kinner - he looks very good so far and I want to be very excited about him - but his accomplishments have been against an FCS team and a team called Memphis. I'm anxious to see how studly he is against Oklahoma, Okie St, TCU, Baylor, KSU, well - you get the idea.
1 ) Nobody died.
2 ) The weather was nice.
3 ) Montell Cozart has MASTERED the art of throwing the ball away. Even when he's trying to complete a pass.
4 ) Whoever is in charge of hiring KU Football Coaches will always have a job.
5 ) I didn't hear any " Bring Back Turner Gill " chants. Other than catching myself say it a few times....
6 ) We set the all time NCAA record for having the opposing team set some sort of all time NCAA record against us. I didn't really check this one, but since we've done it every game for the past 5 years, I figured it would still be intact.
7 ) There will be no parking issues or stadium construction delays for future home games. They've decided not to expand to 80,000 seats with a retractable roof.
8 ) The game wasn't played at 11:00 am, so I still was able to get some awesome garage sale finds. Nice mitre box and a whole bunch of fishing lures for $2.00! Thanks football game time scheduler person!
9 ) The guy that does the kickoffs for us is awesome! Too bad he'll only have one chance per game to kick off once the Big 12 schedule starts.
10 ) We're one day closer to Basketball season!!

@JayHawkFanToo That information was a result of me typing " KU football schedule 2015" - it was the first thing that popped up. Whether it's true or not, I guess we'll know tomorrow.

There's been so much publicity over this stupid thing that even I'm starting to get embarrassed over it. It sounds like the whole country (or world) must have their collective hands to their mouths trying to stifle a giggle (or keep a starship out).
I pray that the KU administration, coaches, players, students, fans (and band, I guess) are paying attention. This is what happens when you do stupid things.

@Crimsonorblue22 All the people I work with are purple possessed pussy-cats, including the owner.
I usually don't say too much, but once in a while I'll tell a "cute" K-State joke, like "How can you tell the bride at a KSU wedding? She's the one with the white cut-off overalls". Or I might give a nice K-State alum a compliment like " You don't sweat much for a fat girl ".
So I try to get along.....
@Crimsonorblue22 OK, smart aleckness aside, No. I did not see any positives. Unless you're in a track meet, you should never get beaten by a team called the JACKRABBITS.
If we had played an FBS school and had the same exact outcome, I would have said "Yes, I do see some positives". If you look at the stats, I think a lot of people would have said that KU won that game. But, in almost any game, anywhere, whoever has the least turnovers and fewest penalties wins.

But let me tell you this - last Saturday we were at the lake and were catching a lot of nice fish. Among them was about a 5 lb catfish that my son caught. I happened to be nearest the fish when he got it to the boat and I grabbed it and brought it on board. At one point the fish squirmed rather vigorously and shook the hook. Right into my thumb. DEEP. After fifteen minutes of (literal) blood, sweat and .....real close to tears, we got the hook cut out with surprisingly minimal damage.
Last Saturday was much more enjoyable than this Saturday for me.

@justanotherfan I agree 100%. It's not about Self, it's about KU. But, if you look at Self's numbers on paper (or a computer...) they're staggering. Almost unbelievable. BUT - (you knew it was coming) the few losses he has in the NCAA's are mostly REALLY bad ones. Even hard-core, passionate KU fans can live (not like, live) with a loss in the Elite Eight to a North Carolina, a Kentucky, or a Duke. I personally cannot deal with the first round losses to ANYONE, or losses to Bucknell, Bradley, UNI, well you know. No one can tell me that Self doesn't adopt a different mindset during the tournament. You can't destroy teams all year long and win 30+ games and then get to the tournament and get the deer in the headlights look like you've never played in front of more than 500 people before unless you're changing the game plan.

@VailHawk This picture reminded me that earlier tonight my wife made me realize that, after 36 years of marriage (and almost 4 years of dating) I have never been more in love with her.
While watching the Chiefs game, a commercial came on advertising an upcoming college football game at Arrowhead this season between "two storied programs" - BYU and Missouri. When the commercial was over, my usually docile and mild mannered wife looked at me and says (I quote) "WHO GIVES A SHIT???"

@JayHawkFanToo I have Cox right now. I get almost every game but I'm REALLY tired of paying twice as much as all the people around here who have Dish Network or DirectTV. I was a whisker away from switching to DirectTV a while back until I found out they were purchased by AT & T. I don't know what to do now.

@JayHawkFanToo - @ParisHawk will accuse me of holding a grudge, but I'm just not that hyped up about the whole Wiggins thing. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a GREAT kid. Very humble and likable and all that happy horsepucky. But we had 10 losses that year (not acceptable in my book) and we basically did nothing in the NCAA tournament. So what? Wiggins does well in the pros and we get to stake a claim to that? It means nothing to me. I don't like the NBA anyway.

Two pet peeves of mine: people who text and drive and the asinine salaries of professional athletes. My biggest pet peeve - asinine professional athletes who text and drive. Sorry.
The last Chiefs game I went to was about 6 years ago. It cost me over $500 for four people. That was tickets, parking and 4 hot chocolates. And we froze our asses off. It was about 16 below at kickoff. No joke. That was the last pro game I went to of any sport and will probably be the last. What does it cost to go to a Royals game for a family of 4? At least a hundred bucks, I'm sure. That is pure, straight out BS. But we keep paying it, so they'll keep charging it. I've finally figured out that I'm more comfortable watching it at home. For free. And I can go to the restroom and not miss 1/4 of the game. I can charge myself nothing for a sandwich and pop. And I can park in my drive for free.
My wife and I lived in Houston in the late 70's to late 80's. We probably took in 30 Astro's games per year. It was 2 or 3 bucks for outfield tickets, a couple of bucks for beer and seems like it was a buck or two for a hot dog. Two of us could take in a game for way less than what it costs to park now.
I know none of my ranting will change things, but it does make me feel a little better. My advice - boycott the games until the prices come down.

@VailHawk I fall into the "older" category..... I remember Darnell Valentine being a very, very good college basketball player. He was one of my favorite KU players of that era. I always thought it a shame that his career ended on what I feel was a VERY sour note. I was at the stupid game in New Orleans where he missed what seemed like 15 layups and we got beat by .........Wussy U. Shockers. Evidently I haven't gotten over it 34 years later.
