Courtstorming • Feb 24, 2015 07:13 PM

I didn't watch most of the game last night, but I have what I believe is a legitimate question.

At any point during the game were the students chanting "OVER-RATED" ? And if so, why would you storm the court after beating an overrated team?

Oh yeah - K-State.

So Next Time • Feb 24, 2015 06:58 PM

@DoubleDD I feel your pain, but take  - :football: will be here soon enough!

Ignominous Infamy Awaits... • Feb 24, 2015 03:52 PM

@ZIG I know you're feeling the pain ( like most of us! ) - but you sure as heck don't owe me an apology. I still don't think it's as much the team as the force that's guiding the team. They all look like they're trying their hardest, but it's an impossible task to do what they're being asked to do.

Do you think Self is questioning himself or maybe he just doesn't care?

Ignominous Infamy Awaits... • Feb 24, 2015 03:20 PM

@ralster I've had a bad feeling about this team since, well since the Kentucky game. Yes, I know they're an abnormally good team this year, but 32 points? They've had other games this year that were "down to the wire". Regardless, the Kentucky game wasn't as bad as the last couple of games. We played inferior ball against inferior teams. Plus the games that we've won have, for the most part been ugly.

Not to open a can of worms, and I'm not calling for any heads (as though I had the power to do that), but most of my bad feelings this year revolve around our coach. To me, it just seems that he is either too stubborn or too proud (either way, not good) to change up his "style". I'm not just talking about shooting three pointers either. It's his whole philosophy. There's something different about him this year that I just can't figure out.

I don't like it.

@KUSTEVE 8 heart stents? Really? God bless you.

For me, it's better to not watch a game like that. It's like watching your favorite actor in a really terrible movie. You don't have to watch - you can get up and leave the theatre!!

I know it makes me sound like a fair weather fan, but I've only been doing this the past couple of years. For 45 years (0r so) before that, I watched every second of every game. There's been a whole lot more good ones than bad ones, but here lately it's just no fun for me to watch that kind of ......stuff.

@KUSTEVE Dude - my blood pressure this morning was 124 / 74. If I had watched the game - you could add a 1 in front of both numbers.

@KUSTEVE You are extremely glass half full this morning! This team is going nowhere in the tourney this year.

So you love the high low? • Feb 24, 2015 11:58 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 I didn't see most of the game. "The Voice" was on for the first hour, then I watched us look stupid for about 4 minutes and decided there had to be something better on to watch. I was right.

We'd better enjoy the court storming while we can. If we keep playing the way that we have been, no one will have any reason to storm the courts against us.

@jaybate-1.0 I've got 4 or 5 boxes of MAD magazines in my attic. When I was in my teens and early 20's I was borderline obsessed with them. To me, when Saturday Night Live came out, it was like MAD magazine came to life. For a while....

@jaybate-1.0 I wonder if Self would coach topless if the Cheerleaders permit 30 3 pointers?

Fool's Gold • Feb 23, 2015 08:08 PM

@KUSTEVE I feel as though I'm being mocked.....

and if not - I should be - cuz that's exactly how I've always felt !!

Favorite KSU Material • Feb 23, 2015 05:09 PM

This is my favorite KSU joke:

Kansas leads: 188-92

Kansas leads in Lawrence: 86-35

(Wikipedia) sorry - in a hurry today.....
Kansas leads in Manhattan: 75-46

Largest K-State win: 29 points (38-9, on 2/2/1917)

Largest Kansas win: 45 points (90-45, on 3/10/1995)

Longest K-State streak: 5 games (3 times, 1918–19, 72-74, 82-83)

Longest Kansas streak: 31 games (1994-2005)

@MoonwalkMafia If you are right about this, you are never allowed to comment prior to that night's game. Or make predictions. You have been warned. :warning:

@KUinLA It's OK - "we" forgive you. Bill too.

Pretty good read here • Feb 22, 2015 03:31 AM

Some days it may not sound like it, but I love KU as much as anyone can imagine, but there is NO way we are going to the FF this year.

Unless - Cliff and Wayne learn how to play ball between now and then.

And basically the whole team learns to shoot free throws.

And HCBS figures out that this year, we're a better outside shooting team than most everyone else - in the country.

And............sigh............let Greene shoot about twenty 3 pointers per game.

I've been wrong before and I hope I'm wrong now - but the only way this team goes to the Final Four is if they buy tickets.

@Crimsonorblue22 Speechless, huh?

@drgnslayr Congrats!! I hope everyone is happy and healthy.

The MISERY Continues • Feb 22, 2015 12:15 AM

@KUSTEVE I can't tell you how badly I feel for them......

@VailHawk Eye  Ewe Two - but in a more manly way. (you are a dude, right?)

@Crimsonorblue22 Eye :heart: Ewe !

@KUSTEVE I'm probably older than you (and everybody else it seems), but I too lived in Houston many millennium ago and they had one sports team that was very relevant - Phi Slamma Jamma. Those dudes were wicked fun to watch!

TCU Prints a Recipe For Beating KU. • Feb 20, 2015 09:37 PM

In my book, it's very close between Frank Mason and Perry Ellis. I'd probably give the edge to FM though, because of the amount of ball handling that he does.

@KUSTEVE You're right - should have been at least 15.

This is who I am... • Feb 20, 2015 07:51 PM

@KUSTEVE West Virginia had to travel as well - back from Iowa St. They had about as much rest as we did. I don't know about Vegas, but when both teams are at full strength, we should have won by at least 10 points.

@Crimsonorblue22 You must not be a Beverly Hillbillies fan!

@KUSTEVE I hope you're smarter than I am. I thought the same thing about the WVU game.

Of course, I did not graduate top of my class at Oxford.....

@drgnslayr OK - newsflash - I'm not an NBA guy. I don't like it, I don't watch it. My question is - why would they want guys like Cliff and Kelly? I guess they can afford to pay them for 3-4 years to sit around and learn how to play ball?

I haven't looked in the past few days, but I'm pretty sure that Frank Mason is our 3rd or 4th leading rebounder. Yeah, the 5'11" (?) dude.

Please... Roy! • Feb 19, 2015 03:33 PM

@stupidmichael I've always thought Bill was a little too quick to call a timeout in certain situations. I just don't think you need to call a t.o. everytime you're up by 4 points and the opponent comes back and takes a one point lead. Especially if you're playing away from home. Listen to the crowd the next time it happens. It's a huge boost to the fans (and therefore the other team) when we call a timeout in a situation like that. It's like " Ooooh, KU is in panic mode, they had to call a timeout. "

Let them play.

Emotional Injury Scars • Feb 19, 2015 02:59 PM

@drgnslayr LOL - that would be awesome!

I hate to admit this, but I call them the same thing, except I preceed it with an " F ".

French Pastries.

Something like that.

@wrwlumpy Great sentiment, but my guess is that they're not seeing him as a Jayhawk!!

@HighEliteMajor "Anyone that has played the game has missed the exact layup that Perry missed -- high speed off the catch. Not much time to think. It's just an unfair criticism to lay on a player, particularly in the last seconds."

Section 3, paragraph 9: If a review will remotely, in any way shape or form benefit the University of Kansas, either now or a 100 years from now it is strictly forbidden.

ISU @ Okie St • Feb 19, 2015 12:09 PM

If Niang got 1 point for every time he travelled, he'd be the only player in history to average 100 ppg.

Time to show some love • Feb 19, 2015 12:07 PM

I've got to admit I've always been somewhat baffled by the Perry haters (or at least dis-likers). It's almost as though because he doesn't beat his chest or do back flips at center court, he's less worthy. You old timers think of your favorite players from 20, 30, 40 years ago - Perry's probably put up better numbers than a lot of them. And he's got one more year to go. He could be more aggressive, but so could .............oh, everyone else on this team.

Fifteen years from now we will remember Perry Ellis.

That could be said of most of our players this year. Remember what your wife was calling them during the last game?
