I'm sure that you know this, but I don't remember and I don't think many people remember - who won the National Championship in 2013? (2014 is recent enough that even I remember!!). Without Googling it - very few people could tell you who won 3, 4, 5 years ago.

Everyone in the country can tell you who was the Big 12 champs 11 years ago......

When someone from whatever conference SHE covets wins 11 in a row, I'll listen to her drivel.

@KUSTEVE We've all done stupid things, but I agree with @wissoxfan83 - it was a childish / insensitive move. @JayhawkRock78 I like Rick Barnes. He seems like a decent guy. I actually felt sorry for him yesterday (can't say that very often about any opposing Big 12 coaches) but I just don't think he's a great coach. Not the game yesterday, but in general.

If anyone wants to know how JB feels, watch the replay (as I just did) of yesterday's game.

@wissoxfan83 Sometimes they go in, sometimes they don't. I'm more concerned with the fact that we supposedly have 2 or 3 of the best 3 point shooters in the country and - for whatever reason - we attempt maybe 10 per game??? That's a guess, I haven't looked it up.

@Blown Yes, my comments were directed to his commentary today. I know he has had a lot of good things to say about us in the past (when we're not playing Kentucky or any ACC team.....) but for some reason he was just getting under my skin today.

@Blown It seems as though (to me anyway) everything he said was against us. Every questionable call it seemed as though he thought Texas got screwed. I just had the feeling that the media really wanted Texas to hand us a home loss today.

@wrwlumpy I've been back and forth on the CC thing this season. At first I thought it was a big deal, then I decided I didn't care - I just wanted this team to figure out how to play together. Now I'm back to wanting to win the Conference because it's about the only thing we'll have to hang our hat on this year.

My dad was born and raised in the Topeka area and grew up loving our 'Hawks. He has spent the last 30+ years in and around Austin, Tx and has an affinity for the Horns as well now. Last night he predicted a KU blowout on saturday and thinks the score will be 90-58.

He believes (rightly so, I think) that Rick Barnes is the Anti-Bruce Weber. Barnes can recruit with the best of them and coach with the worst of them.

There are elite athletes on just about every team in D-1 now. I just desperately want kids who - just - can't - take - losing. The ones who hate losing even more than they like winning. Guys that defend their opponents and the rim like their very lives (at least for 2+ hours that day) depend on it.

Guys that want to win for their coach, their families, their fans, their school, their teammates and themselves.

We've seen an extremely minimal amount of blood, sweat and tears (in my opinion) from this team. Am I the only one who misses the old Jerod Haase (author of FLOOR BURNS hint..hint..) type of players that went all out every game? He's not the only one - we had whole teams of that type of player for years and years.

I apologize for turning the games off when we're playing like crap, but it's hard to watch after being spoiled all these years. Even when we lost back then, it was usually a dog-fight to the end. Now we lose and the players and coaches make jokes in the post game.

I used to make fun of Ol Roy for crying, but dad-gummit, I'm ready to see some tears from this coaching staff and team. They're sure coming from me! :cry:

One more take on the whole court storming issue.

I don't care about the stupid Conf. Championship streak. It means nothing. (180 turn for me - for the past few seasons it's something I've coveted)

I don't care about any home court winning streaks.

I don't care about where we're seeded in the tournament.

I don't care who starts, who finishes or who comes off the bench.

I don't care if we run the high/lo offense, if we press full court or spend 34 seconds running the Harlem Globetrotter shuffle.

What I DO care about is winning. These guys better figure out a way to get the little orange ball :basketball: in the basket more than the other guys.

Dive after loose balls. Stick on your man when on defense - NOTHING ticks a player off more on offense than to have the defender glued on him like he was his shadow.

When someone passes you the ball, look the ball into your hands. When you are the one passing it, pass it to your teammate and not the lady in the blue tank top in the third row.

Stay after practice and shoot 150 free throws.

Refuse to Lose. Then do what it takes to accomplish that.

@RockChalkinTexas I hope you felt better after getting it off of your chest, but I would be VERY surprised if you heard back from anyone in authority at K-State. My guess is they just don't really care. Especially the language part - I've been to some KU football games where the student section chants an unreasonably foul and rude statement to the person receiving the football and I could not believe what I was hearing. Like you say - there are kids in the stands. It's what college sports is coming to - melting down like a lot of the rest of our society.
