I think he's a good fit as a player for Bill Self.
I know we have negative views about Bryce Thompson but Bill liked him a lot and tried to keep him. Think of a mix of Bryce and Dajuan Harris for Philon. Maybe some Marcus Garrett in there too.
Can't imagine anyone would be mad with that. A dajuan who can get his own on the level that Bryce was advertised at is a pretty easy nba player. Hell just a taller dajuan in general is great.

Anyone know if we're selling bethea on starting? I'm guessing at least one of elmarko/arterio leave after this season, and I know dajuan said he plans on staying after next season but next year's draft sucks and dajuan has some nba appeal based on what some guys(sam vecenie) have said.

I find it kinda of hard to judge a kid there never played and then recruiting time comes around and possibly are better he just automatically get's recruited over an he then automatically isn't a caliber P-5 type of player and isn't good enough. I mean he didn't play here and it doesn't seem like he was gonna play here. I figured high majors would take fliers on other guards and not one who's suffered two knee injuries in 2 seasons. Udeh's recruiting pedigree is way better and also he showed way more on the court so I'm not surprised that he has high major attention. Same with zuby

I'm really not crazy high on our starting lineup at the moment either. Even with Nelson, it is a bit concerning. The saving grace was that we would have a ton of depth. But with Udeh and Zuby out we have absolutely questionable/non-existent depth at the 3,4 and 5 spots. And with the portal closed targets are limited. If we end up with Parker Freaking Braun as backup Center I won't even know what to think.
Agreed. Our two wing replacements are Marcus Adams and Timberlake. Timberlake is 6'4 idk how well he'll hold up defensively at the 3 and Marcus Adams is a totally unknown variable that we can't count on for now. Obviously bill will get a guy in but it's looking murky for now

Seems to be a given that one of them leaves. They just added a guy who's playing at least 30 minutes a game and both were top 50 recruits that probably wanted an increased role at the very least.
Yep. Do we want them to transfer? No. Would I blame one of them for transferring? Also no. One of them is looking at being last on the depth chart...
I'm fascinated to see what we will do to fill that scholarship if it becomes available. Maybe just leave it ticketed for someone coming back from the draft?

that's actually a great call. Hold him for a year and then he starts when Hunter leaves if he doesn't get the waiver. That being said he entered the portal and immediately talked about mental health so we'll see on that.
