@rockchalkjayhawk it is unbelievable, ridiculous fun. Zero consequences for murder in Montana it appears.
ZERO!!!!!!!
It’s kind of fun at the start of each show to predict who will be getting shot, stabbed or tossed over a cliff.

No kidding!
Jeez, scary. Just saw a post about Jarred Shaw, who played a season at Okie State in 2010??
Faces execution for shipping in marijuana edibles from Thailand to Indonesia.
Ha. I’m on season 3 of Yellowstone now.
This show is outright crazy. Some sort of epic tragedy in every episode! Cowboy soap opera.
Looks like Dame Sarr is on the Duke campus today.

So Dame Sarr coming to KU is contingent upon Coward not going pro right? When do we anticipate knowing whether Coward will go to Duke or NBA?
I think the deadline to withdraw is June 15? So, other month of potential agony. :(
Only three spots left on the roster!
Local guard signed today out of high school. Not sure if he's a point or combo guard. Any of you KC area fans get to watch him play? I used to go to Oak Park Mall way back in the day...that still around?
Corbin Allen – Oak Park High School.
Hmm, looks like we just signed a high school kid from KC for this season.
Couldn't find a great thread to post this...an Elmarko workout update.

Jeez. Picky. He makes sense on ANY roster.
I'd be totally down with Boogie on the roster. exciting player.
@Jhawk69 said in The portal.:
@rockchalkjayhawk The only way he would do that is if KU found another million dollars. If any of you are billionaires maybe you could even things up
Good gravy. Another mil? Wow. Let me look in the couch cushions. brb.
Let's just hope that Dame Sarr will give Duke the same back and forth he's given to KU, and flop back to us!
@TYOHawk said in The portal.:
Was pissed and then realized we got Darryn Peterson and Flory. I’m riding with my guys
Yea, I’m sure somebody else will pop up.
The hard part is waiting!
Ha. Totally thought this was referring to the torture of losing Sarr!
@BShark said in The portal.:
Sounds like Duke.
Recruiting in this era is like twice as excruciating.

It will be good to be on the “mostly complete” side of roster construction after this one
Four more to go!
Bring on a competent big, please.
@MR11 said in The portal.:
@Kcmatt7 End of season rotation, I would agree with you. Early in the season, I would put Sarr in the 2nd group for competing for the 2 open starting spots.
Yea, we’re going to need a second ball handler in the lineup. Scouting reports say Sarr is a little sloppy with the ball
I see some reporting that Sarr has committed to KU! Hope it’s true.
@BeddieKU23 said in The portal.:
Wouldn't count on Sarr. Moving on
Frown face emoji…
Who else are we targeting?

@rockchalkjayhawk Titus Welliver thought he had a friend…
He’s scary!
Slightly off topic, but along the same lines of scary technology.
I was watching an old episode of Monk on YouTube TV yesterday, and Titus Welliver was the villain.
After the show ended I jumped over to Facebook on my phone to do my old man word puzzles, and up popped up a “friend” recommendation for Titus Welliver.
I only hope they aren’t listening and watching in some way! Effers.

Can someone enlighten me as to Vaughn's coaching philosophy? I know he coached the Nets for a couple of seasons but have no idea what kind of ideology or expertise he brings to the table.
Will his NBA coaching style translate to the NCAA?
But, from what i've read: he used to preach player and ball movement, uptempo, freedom and aggression in the pros.

So Vaughn, Buford in and then it sounds like more shake up is coming to the staff that we'll hear about soon.
I like this direction; it certainly signals a major change for Self from the past 20+ years. Both guys have professional coaching experience, will remain to be seen how they do recruiting but we all know right now it's more about NIL than anything else. This is a potentially positive change in the short and long term for the program.
Vaughn? For real? That would be a shocking step down for him. If that’s true, the succession rumors must be for real.
He’s likely an all time favorite for many of us, but I’d have to ponder if I’d like him as a KU head coach.
He's in Lawrence and negotiations are on going.
Big time wow! ch ch ch ch changes...

Vernon reports this has been in the works for a bit, KU apparently has someone identified for the role but not sharing at this time. Also interesting that replacing Norm may not be the only Assistant Coach on the move..
Doesn't think it will take long.
Bring on Danny and Sherron!
Hell no to both. Would be setting the program back...
Hearing Buford will get promoted.
I'd be OK with setting the program back to the days of Big 12 titles and championships :)

patellar tendon
Yep. crazy.
But, i do hope the Chiefs take their time with him, let him fully recover from his broken whatever it is.
Man, so many lazy ass writers and AI bots in the world today. Saw this on KC Kingdom:
The Kansas City Chiefs took a big swing on a high-upside prospect with their first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft as Josh Simmons was promising player on the offensive line throughout his collegiate career before an Achilles tendon injury cut short his final season with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

It’s been a slow time. Is it slow for most of D1 right now? Are coaches and ADs spending much of their days fundraising? Are they promoting specific players and asking for funds for these players? If this is the case, are coaches picking players or are the decisions made by those contributing? Maybe we stay slow until the NBA draft?
I think the draft is a huge part of the whole thing. Need to wait for that to see more dominos fall.
FYI, June 15 is the deadline to withdraw from the NBA draft. So, maybe some movement around then?
I’d just like to say for the record that I had a bad Hitler joke lined up. I resisted, or am resisting.
@dylans said in Chiefs offseason:
Drafting the big uglies - good. Not sexy, but the games are often won or lost in the trenches. I’m completely in the dark about the defensive players selected, but I like the positions filled.
Yea, we need those kinda guys for sure. I say hmmmm because I’d like to draft a starter or two in those early spots, and these guys don’t seem to be more than situational players.
I’m not expert enough to know who else was available, but pretty much every expert says these picks were big reaches.
Depth is fine of course, but you need some meat to go with your potatoes, too.
A big Hmmm on the Chiefs second and early third round picks.
@approxinfinity said in The portal.:
@SlimShaddy54 we got 3 role players from the portal and we need 2 more starters. If we cant recruit 2 more guys that are at least as good as the ones we have gotten from the portal, my hopes
arent going to be super high. If we dont have 5 clear starter level players we at least need high level depth.
This is all super weird.
And for some comic relief…
I whacked the regulator with the wrench a few times, and BAM, the propane started flowing!
Crazy.
@mayjay said in Gas BBQ grill problem. Got a fix?:
@rockchalkjayhawk I got so frustrated with years of propane problems of all types that I installed the natural gas conversion kit in a new grill when we last moved and connected it to our house supply.. Haven't had any problems since and never having to go empty is a dream.
Perhaps an option for you?
Smart! I’ll have to consider that.
Howdy, all. I'm having an issue with the propane on my gas grill. Anybody know what to do?
Basically I can't get a sniff of propane out of the tank. Nada. zip. zilch. I just refilled the tank.
I've tried a million times to reset the regulator (this thing: https://www.weber.com/US/en/parts--et--support/replacement-parts/gas-grill-parts/gas-replacement-parts/hoses--et--regulator-kits/7627.html). ↗ Basically uncoupling, turning off all the valves, waiting, etc. nada.
Like I do every year, i spent hours the other day hosing down, scrubbing and scraping the gunk off my gas grill for BBQ season. Usually works like a charm afterward. That do something to it?
I bought a replacement regulator, but here's the thing: I CANNOT UNSCREW THE OLD ONE!!!!!
That sucker is locked up and won't budge (the threaded brass nut). I put all my puny muscle power into it. I've let it sit for hours after spraying with WD40, nothing.
Anyway, i'd like to replace the regulator, but it just ain't happening. I am using adjustable wrenches, so maybe not the perfect tools.
Anybody have this issue? From what i'm Googling, it's pretty common.

Finished season 1 of The Last Of Us. As far as zombie apocalypse shows go i found it to be believable and well scripted.
I started that when it first came out, but after a few I realized I hit my zombie show limit. Imagine that.
Yea, I’m only a few episodes in and I can see the gut wrenching in Yellowstone.
I like to watch something when I wake up and eat breakfast…and this is not a breakfast show!
Finally getting around to Yellowstone. Worth watching?
Four more to go! Make em count, Bill.
I do find myself watching mostly reruns on YTTV now that i think about it. Hmm, maybe i need to reconsider my habits.
Been watching stuff on Netflix and Amazon though. Double hmm.
@approxinfinity You must not watch much TV if you cancelled YouTube TV! good for you.
I always cancel the ESPN+ when hoops season ends. done.

Kansas a possible destination for Malique Ewin and Shawn Phillips Jr.
I dunno. We really have no true PG on the roster. I know DP will dominate the ball though.
And what, three total playable guards right now? DP, Elmarko and Jayden Dawson? Tre White more of a 3-4?
We still need a lot, IMO. Bigs and littles. Bring ‘em on!
Interesting for sure though. generally way closer %s than i thought they'd be.
@approxinfinity I think attempts would be a good way to help visualize this data, put it in context, too.

Nice. hope he's a contributor! From the way back when HS scouting report:
Shelby is one of the better long distance shooters in his class. He makes any man to man defense stretch out against any zone. coaches mainly see his ability to stretch the floor as a key translatable asset.
His career stats from 3pt: 31 and 33 percent in his two years playing college ball.
Shooooooters!
