Horns Down Game Thread • Mar 05, 2022 09:42 PM

I assume the first offensive play of the second half will be to get Ochai an open look. Ochai has to get a field goal doesn't he?

Horns Down Game Thread • Mar 05, 2022 09:17 PM

KU is playing poorly, but its tied

Horns Down Game Thread • Mar 05, 2022 09:15 PM

Ochai with another cold start 0-3

Horns Down Game Thread • Mar 05, 2022 08:55 PM

It always looks like we only have four players on defense.

Horns Down Game Thread • Mar 05, 2022 08:42 PM

Remy scored 2.

Teahan with the starters. Nice

Only 2 fouls called on Baylor in 18 minutes.

Shock Collars for Referees • Feb 20, 2022 10:35 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 I agree, the bigs like Dave get hammered, while the guards are treated like they're made of porcelain. The amount of contact that draws a foul should be the same for all positions. Zap-that's me zapping some sense into a ref.

Non-KU Games • Feb 20, 2022 08:19 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 The announcers say it was because Wisconsin called a late time out. Howard didn't throw a punch, it was an open hand grab of the side of the assistant's head. Probably just reaching across to shake his hand-or his ear, maybe.

Shock Collars for Referees • Feb 20, 2022 03:11 PM

At what point in a game is enough enough for foul calls? In the second half of our W Virg game, there was a point where every possession by both teams resulted in a foul call and sometimes more than one. The game became unwatchable. I can't imagine how bad it must be for the players who just want to play. First, I say BS to anyone who says "well, its up to the players to adjust to the way fouls are being called." BS. Let the players play the game and let all incidental contact that doesn't affect the play go. We need referees who understand the game is about basketball, not an individual referee making calls in dramatic ways that directs attention to the referee. I quit watching baseball when the home plate umps decided the best part of baseball was how dramatic they could call balls and strikes. Also, because its too slow.

Yes, I'm advocating shock collars on all basketball referees and I want the button. But really, do you think there is a post-game critic for Big 12 refs by the league where its mentioned " Gee, 39 fouls called in that game, were they all necessary to be called?"

Our uni’s are historical

3 THINGS • Feb 14, 2022 10:25 PM

Here's my one thing: What happened to KU's mentality where teams refused to lose home games? This team doesn't seem to get that. I see KU is favored by 10.5 tonight. Lately, that's the kiss of death.

Boomer 2 Game Thread • Feb 12, 2022 08:16 PM

@jayballer67 You would also think this team could get the damn ball in bounds despite the press. Jeez

Boomer 2 Game Thread • Feb 12, 2022 07:49 PM

Still can't hit FTs during the last 2 minutes. That will lose a team a lot of games.

Boomer 2 Game Thread • Feb 12, 2022 07:25 PM

Ochai hasn't helped enough today: 3/11 8 pts. That won't get us a W

Boomer 2 Game Thread • Feb 12, 2022 06:15 PM

After 42 fouls called last game, this crew isn't going to call anything. 9 fouls called in 14 minutes. I prefer games with fewer foul calls, but how are the players supposed to know

Boomer 2 Game Thread • Feb 12, 2022 06:06 PM

Dave was providing all the offense. Now Self has left him on the bench for Adams and now Lightfoot

Boomer 2 Game Thread • Feb 12, 2022 05:58 PM

Braun-no shot attempts in almost 9 minutes of play

Boomer 2 Game Thread • Feb 12, 2022 05:49 PM

Our 5 players only guard 4 of the offensive players. KU always leaves someone wide open for an uncontested shot

Boomer 2 Game Thread • Feb 12, 2022 05:42 PM

I liked the way Auburn had the court side opposite the camera filled with students instead of Allen which has alums on both sides and students limited to the seats behind the goals. The best seats should be for the students

Feelings On • Feb 12, 2022 03:06 PM

I would prefer to see a rim protector. Do any of our recruits or bench players have the defensive desire to rim protect? When KU guards drive and then get rejected at the rim, it really changes our offense. Especially with players like Braun; Once he gets blocked, he tends to disappear on offense. Mitch does some rim protection, but everyone remembers Dok's rim protection and even Whithey's. I still like someone in the paint on defense with enough athleticism to stop a guard's drive and also defend a second player if the guard passes.

Texas favored • Feb 07, 2022 01:20 PM

Jalen's offensive rebounding in the first half of the Baylor game was a big part of the reason for KU's big lead.

Texas favored • Feb 07, 2022 11:26 AM

Clearly everyone is reading our knowledgeable posters here: KU now favored by 1 on Ceasar's Sportsbook (ESPN).

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 10:37 PM

Coleman-Lands has the mid-section of a 40 yr old man. No sit ups or planks for him, I guess.

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 10:33 PM

Wilson was great in the first half. Scoring off offensive rbs and on in-bounds plays

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 10:32 PM

I know its mop up, but 17 bench points really stands out. Mitch's play stood out today.

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 10:15 PM

If he stays in, Dave is close to a double double: 9 pts, 8 Rbs. Maybe Drew will get another T

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 10:12 PM

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 09:40 PM

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 09:38 PM

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 09:23 PM

KU 23 rbs; BU 14

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 09:22 PM

Ochai 6, Dave and Harris still 0.

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 09:16 PM

7 bench points is outstanding. Very short bench so far.

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 09:11 PM

As everyone here knows, I hate our weak side 3 point defense. What other team leaves 3 pt shooters wide open and just watch to see if the shot misses?

Baylor Game Thread • Feb 05, 2022 08:22 PM

Really, really need this W. Ochai better come back hot.

Big 12/SEC Matchups • Jan 29, 2022 03:38 PM

Fun and interesting games today. But, why couldn't the leagues leave the exact matchups open, then have the top teams from each league play each other. This year Auburn would play Baylor, Kansas/ Kentucky, Tx Tech/ Tenn, and LSU/ ISt. Just pick a particular poll. Auburn/Baylor is much more fun than Auburn/OK and Baylor/Alabama. The traveling teams know they are traveling, but just get a couple weeks notice of their site. Hotels are booked but the team is left open. Just a thought while waiting for the games to tip off.
