crown and coke or jack and crown...some tequila shots are good too.
Did you hear Self? They will have to contact, interview every single lead to determine if there was any pro influence. In the case of Kanter, he not only played pro ball in Greece, he took money for play. If I heard Self correctly, it could also influence his status if he even played against international pro players. I don't even think money has to be exchanged. Where in the hell does the kid play in his own country? I don't remember all this with Svi. Maybe my memory fails me. I wouldn't know when Silvio could've played with any pro influence. He barely played in Angola and their country is not exactly the AAU circuit. He came to IMG fairly early in his high school playing time. What did he do play against pros in middle school? Geesh.
@kjayhawks YES....it's so obvious and KU is not on the East Coast now are they???????????????????????????
@BeddieKU23 And here we go with Silvio. Don't hold your breath folks, this is going to take a while. He's presumed having played pro ball until it's proven otherwise. I'm not holding out much hope that he will play anytime soon, and lo-and-behold, it will be learned that he is completely free to play.
Oh well, at least he's on the team, and gets to practice. Oh, and by the way, there are ridiculous stipulations about a player in this situation of what they can and can't do. Kentucky violated them all. I don't think Silvio is a case of if, but when he gets to play. It's always up to the NCAA to determine of course. We all know they are for the programs and student-athlete, uh whaa.
No bias, all fair and no unnecessary influence here...smh
MSU is looking more and more like the favorite this year. They are my non-KU pick. Izzo is my next favorite coach.
Uh oh another bball darling failed. But the critics will play it down. The story will be that one bad loss won't hurt them, unless your KU. ASU is 0-2 in conference play? They are ranked 4? I don't get it.
Who is Tad Boyle? hmm...another successful former KU player that is now coaching his azz off.
Screw it all. It is what it is...
@REHawk Exactly. This has been the frustration. We all had high hopes and expectations for BP and then this long drawn out drama. I don't think she realizes we are for her son. I don't know who she is pissed at, but most all KU wants him to play and have been waiting. She needs to help get him cleared and stay off social media.
He could've went to Europe and made millions? OOOO...kayee??? But thanks for stayin' ... I guess? I'm not sure what to say about that statement. It's like she is owed something.
Great interview with DMan on ESPN and Deacons win over the Cuse. I thought he was addressing the current KU team's woes. But the difference is the Deacs won.
What a great interview for KU to hear what another NC player does to win, "lock in on defense," "force contested shots," and "REBOUND" for cryin' out loud, REBOUND.
I just got sick at my stomach...
@KirkIsMyHinrich Apparently he didn't attack enough. As the senior leader, he has to stay in attack mode.
@KirkIsMyHinrich This team came within a few field goals and they went for treys. I said it at about the 7-8 min mark. They were within a few buckets and they went for three treys, and missed all of them. Part of being a good shooter is to know when to pound inside or attack. We don't have a player that can attack the rim like Frank. Graham is the closest thing we have to Frank. Graham does not lead attacks. He leads guys to do the wrong thing on certain plays.
Who thinks we just might get swept by WVU and possibly OU?
This season just got very scary.
@KirkIsMyHinrich Nope and this is just sad after such an outstanding performance in Austin. Well, TT will vault up the polls, and KU will slide back down to 20-25.
TT beat us by 15 in the Phog. OU and WVU are going to be interesting games.
Again, I will be shocked if Billy and Preston are cleared this week. We shall see...
Give TT credit. They came ready to play and hit KU right in the mouth. So will every other B12 team that comes into the Phog. This is going to be a long year folks.
@Crimsonorblue22 We don't have it and Self said it won't be until February before we see any difference with their play. If they get cleared.
Let's see how long the NCAA sits on Billy and Silvio's eligibility.
I'm having flash blacks to the WVU game last year, but without Frank?
TT has answered every threat.
Not listening to Fran. I can only imagine. He's been waiting for this a long time.
This is the second home loss? They are destroying that home winning record. I just don't understand this team.
FIGHT GUYS
Got their azzes kicked and handed to them. They are not a team with a high bball IQ. This just about seals their place in the B12. Let's see what happens to them after this game. No team mtgs or any kind of team anything. This is not a team. This is a bunch of individuals that think they can shoot.
Lost track after so many misses...
Vick, miss, this is a joke
Wow
Can't play D, but we can sure foul.
DG trey...miss
Can't take care of the ball. What in the hell is wrong with this team. That was it. They get within 5 and can't close.
Newman and a trey....damn it
Crunch time
Thank you DG for the all needed huck
No Defense
Need to attack the rim and hit some FTs.
We don't need treys with this much time. Let's see who hucks a 3pt shot.
TT has missed several treys. They aren't just going for a win, they are going for a statement.
Gut check time. Let's see how badly they want to win.
Svi just not having a good game.
Good gawd, it's HACK A HAWK
How many TOs?
@Texas-Hawk-10 Done. Good idea. I'm ready for TT.
@Jayballer54 Interesting points. I hear Self basically saying from your observations is that Mitch knows the system, but seems to be struggling with executing what he knows. He has experience and knows the system, but Mitch does not perform at the level of Self's expectations. If Silvio knew the system as Mitch, Silvio would likely perform at a much higher level.'
We all know that Self rewards and is huge on knowing his system. He wants the players to execute his expectations at a really high level, but Mitch doesn't play at that level. It doesn't mean he's not a good player. So, Mitch has what Self wants, but needs to take his play to a higher level.
Mitch is the big man link of past big men. Lucas past the big man torch to Mitch, and Doke. So, you more than likely know what that means. Self needs Mitch to translate his system to the bigs.
Bottom line: Self needs Mitch as much, if not more than Mitch needing Self or playing time.
@Crimsonorblue22 Saw that, poor kid. What a way to grow up.
So much for ASU's hype, and likely the beginning of their conference slide. We'll see if they can maintain their 'hype.'
TCU's undefeated entering the game against "Trae Young and OU" was a joke after watching them play. I saw a good team, but why they were undefeated is beyond me. Maybe because they hadn't played anyone. I find it extremely arrogant by the media to call a team by one player and the rest of the team.
Nova's loss is being described as no big deal.
It was a matter of time for Zona to get things together and play to their potential with 'Ayton and Zona.' haha
I find the bball media expert analysts or commentaries as funny and fickle.
@mayjay Agreed. But it was funny how his big man was dominating the rim for the most part and totally failed to exploit his size. But, by your same question, the zone can and is used for other reasons too, not just 3pt shooting. Yes, I would hope he went zone to limit KU's shooting, but it failed, and they didn't look like they were too effective with it either. Which makes me believe, he went zone because he saw KU's effectiveness with the zone, when UT really didn't require a zone. Self obviously went to zone to protect Dok from man-to-man fouls, right?
So, to answer your question, NO. You don't always use zone just for 3pt shooting. It can be used for a lot of reasons. Maybe you're Cuse and you play zone as your primary defensive set.
