Listened to CBS highlights and the two morons had NOTHING to say about KU's win on the road. In fact, they actually criticized them for winning on the road. I find it interesting that when KU does well, they get beat up.
Then the Pukies game highlight came on after KU/OSU. They had nothing but greatness to say. The Pukies did no wrong. I would hope not, because they played in Cameron and Miami is 4-12 in ACC. No disrespect to Miami but really? They even said this was a great game without Zion, really? This team struggles with better teams. They struggle with teams in the top 25. They are not the #1 overall. Then Tenn beats UK.
There will be some shuffling at the top this week. KU should be rewarded for this tough road win.
Grimes showing up at about the right time? Sure seems like it. It's good to see him come through when it's needed most. They hung around and ground out this win. OSU playing really scrappy. Boynton doing well with the talent he has. Glad hes a B12 coach because he's a great coach.
This team and season is looking very much like 1988. Think about the coincidences.
!0_1551327967065_ku thingy.JPG ↗
This team was 9-5 in B8 and 27-11 overall. However, this year's team has a chance to win or at least tie for the conference title.
Hell, this '88 team wasn't even ranked in the top 25. I totally forgot about that impossibility.
Archie Marshall was injured and Doke is injured.
Manning and DLaw are not the same players but in similar roles.
Danny and the Miracles
DLaw and the Over Achievers?
So its not over til its over. The Hawks spread their wings as the fat lady sings. This was my fav because it was my freshman year.

A lot left that could change. Tennessee, Houston, Marquette and Michigan all look like they could falter down the stretch.
But most importantly, if we just take care of our own business we will no doubt move up.
There will be faltering in the B12. I just hope its not KU.
HighEliteMajor said:
@truehawk93 I don’t think you and @Kcmatt7 are saying the same thing. He has them as a 4 seed. The breakdown above shows regions, so Kansas is the 4 seed in the KC region.
The only seeds that get regional consideration are the 1 seeds, maybe 2 to a degree. I doubt 3 or 4 will be given much regional consideration. I'will be pleasantly surprised if KU gets KC, maybe that will be their SOS reward?
I'm going on KU's SOS. Our resume is again one of the top 3 in the nation, regardless of our rank or seed.
Who knows? I'm surprised @Kcmatt7 doesn't have the Zags in 1 seed. There will be a shake up at the top next week, but don't think its going to impact the top seeds. Again, still some ball to play. Hopefully KU wins outright and maybe even wins B12 tourney. They may have a slim chance to get a good seed. But we all know who the media darlings are and the committee will likely overlook KU.
Boynton may have found a way to beat TT at home, UT? TT goes to TCU and ISU. I see at least 2 loses. They are losing steam. OSU and Waters are going to be trouble in Stillwater.
kst has BU and OU at home. They play TCU in Ft Worth. I hope BU and TCU can beat them. Lets see if Drew and Kruger can out coach Beard. Jamie Dixon may be able to beat Beard in the Stock Yards.
KU needs to stay focused and win out, regardless of ksu and TT winning or losing. IF ksu or TT lose, KU needs to put themselves in a position to take it.
Kcmatt7 said:
I think Houston has a let down as well as Marquette to free up that 3 seed. But we still have to tcob and I’m not sure we can
Their conferences are weak too. But they both have a fair win that will keep them in the 3-4 seed range.

Almost all bracketologist have KU as a 4 seed right now from what I’ve seen.
They will be a 4 seed if they don't win out or screw the B12 tourney.
I think what the "bracketologist" are saying is, they can't do worse than a 4 seed at this point. I do think they will improve. I think KU can run the table if they play. But if OU sneaks a win, which I doubt and OSU lucks out, or if they beat only BU, I say they are roughly
1-3 seed
4-3 seed
I just don't see KU being a 4 seed. They will be the strongest 4 seed. They will definitely be #1-4 seed, GUARANTEED. Their resume is one of the top in the country, and maybe the top 3.

@truehawk93 Please understand that I have no respect for Bruce Weber as a Coach, but a LOT of coaches bench players with 2 fouls for the remainder of the first half. LOTS.
I personally think it's not that smart, but it happens very frequently.
But the remainder of the half? That's foolish. I get his logic, but Wade fouled out any way. You just prolonged the inevitable and Wade fortunately, never got into a groove. The only player that played well was Stokes. Dotson did a bang up job on Brown. Sneed was the only other threat. We had a great game that neutralized them all.
Jay Bilas even said Weber benching with 2 fouls for the remainder of the half is not smart at all. I don't think my problem is with doing it, but how long Weber sits them. Believe me, I'm not complaining. But I think Self could still outcoach Weber blindfolded with both hands tied behind his back and a Salvation Army bball coach interpreting Weber's plays. Sorry, not impressed with Weber at all as a B12 head coach. He is likely the weakest coach in the B12. His players are the source behind his success. Can you imagine what Self would do with his team this year? Juniors and Seniors...are you kidding me?
Self
Beard
Huggy
Dixon
Prohm
Kruger
Drew
Boynton
Smart
WEBER
We have 3-5 more games yet and a lot to happen. Our non-con resume is going to pay dividends this year.
@Kcmatt7 Wow you have KU as the #4-1 seed? HOUSTON as the #3-1 seed? KU seed is a little to aggressive and Houston is not worthy of a #3-1 seed. Their resume is weak.
Hawk8086 said:
@truehawk93 Unless we somewhat collapse, I don't think we will drop to a 6 or a 7. Most had us as a 3 prior to TT. 4-5 is probably more likely...obviously depending on how we look going forward.
We are ranked 15 and 16 respectively. Most have us at a 3 seed? Our resume may improve our seeding a bit. We beat MSU and Tennessee. Those wins may raise us from a 6 to a possible 5.
If we can hang around 12-15 or better, we could be a 3 and possibly a 2. But it will depend on the OU, OSU, BU games. It will also depend on the B12 tourney.
But our bad loss was WVU by 1pt. The ASU loss will hurt too, but not a bad loss. This may hurt our seeding. By a cancellation or wash, I see us ending roughly around a 4 ish. IF we remain strong and win out. IF we win the B12, that may bump our earnings to the #2-3 seed or #1-4 seed pending remaining performance.
This is where our pre-season resume will help a great deal and the other fans are going to beeotch. Kitty kitties are going to scream like little girls, but their pre-season was weak.
Likewise, TT's pre-season was weak too.
I'm being really generous with the purple pussies only b/c they are B12. I must say Weber was an idiot Monday. Gawd his players make him look good. He was a moron and clueless and Bilas called his 2 foul rule stupid. What coach benches a player with 2 fouls the remainder of a half? He's a fool. Weber lost that game.
He was lost and running into refs and players begging for mercy calls.
1- Gonzaga
1- Virginia
1- UK
1-UNC
2-Puke (2UK, 8Aub, 12TT)
2-KU (10MSU, 17Nova, 5Tenn)
2-MSU (17UCLA, 18Iowa)
2-Vols (1Zags) media loves Rick Barnes right now
3-Michigan(8Nova, 11UNC) writers love Michigan
3-TT (11KU)* They played Puke tough on a neutral court, non-con
weak, being in B12 will help seeding
3-Houston (18Oregon, 25Cin)
3-Marquette (solid wins over 12KSU, 12Wis)
4-KSU (13KU)* Their non-con sucked
4-Nevada (20ASU)
4-LSU
4-Purdue
*Conference
Self is a master at non-con games and wins. It really does boost your resume for off seasons like this season.
Whatever it is, I hope he continues.

We'll beat Silo on Monday...then tech will lose at Clone Land on the last day of the season, and there will be a three way tie for first. We got them right where we want them.
I can only hope you're right.
As I started facing some reality, I began to watch our ranking and seeding drop. But, I found a little glimmer of hope. We will likely end somewhere between #15-20. We will likely be a 6 or 7 ish seed in the tourney. I'm a little encouraged because we are not the hunted, but the hunter. I would not want to be a 1-4 seed facing KU. KU is an extremely dangerous team with all our weaknesses. So, yes, all pressure is off this young team. To hell with the conference and no #1 or #2 seed pressure. Just go out loose and have fun. Learn and return ready for next year. What were we ranked in 1988? Did we win the conference that year? hmm...
True out
Oh well, lets wrap up and get out. Lick our wounds and get ready for what may be a bigger game. You know, I don't care what happens. I just want them to beat the purple pussies.

Culver is gunning for 30 tonight. I hope he gets it too.
Can we put Ollie in at this point?

I'm not giving up on our team. But its going to take a lot of good stuff to happen for us to get to the Sweet 16 and beyond.
NO. Not giving up, but this is an old fashioned butt kicking. This is the kind of butt kick Self loves.
Culver bringing it. He's trying to pad his stats. They guy has 20 plus and he's shooting treys. And they're up 30? Wow.
Beard is very underrated.
Crimsonorblue22 said:
@kjayhawks you do know we handled tech earlier?
I think that's his point. We beat them and Beard corrected.
Wow, Grimes? I've got nothing. He's a total no show. His best game was MSU.
Get 'em Big Mac, hell drop a trey or two big man.
Hell, TT could probably get their intramural team in there right now and win at this lousy rate.

@truehawk93 the whole big 12 outside of Lawrence is happy.
You bet your ass they are happy. Once Doke went out and SDS was ruled out, they all knew it was over. Its always KU against the B12. They really know how to kick a team when they're down and thats the only way KU can be beat. They sure as hell can't beat us at full strength and damn well know it...asses all including f'ing media shatheads.
Frannie is about to explode. He's enjoying this one.
Give TT credit they are all throttle. They are giving ksu a gift.
Good gawd this is ugly. I don't get it at all.
geez...someone forgot there was a game?

Texas is a football state. Maybe the top FB state. BB is a second cousin. We are the Mecca of CBB. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
Hells yeah...If not for KU the B12 would be a non-factor in college bball. Right now, its KU against the B12 for 15. If TT wins, ksu is almost clinched. If ksu beats us in the Phog, which I pray doesn't happen, they pretty much clinch the title. KU must win tonight, beat ksu, and sweep their season. They dug this hole with WVU and the UT loses.
Time to team up and earn this title.
I have never seen a shoe blow completely apart like that in all of bball history or even heard of it. I've heard of soles separating. He blew his whole foot through the sole and the shoe rode up his leg. It was kinda awesome!
He sprung his knee? I bet he tore his meniscus.
Puke...Oops
I would never wish an injury on any player or team. But that Nike shoe incident brought a little bit of justice? I think the crooked Nike shoe rep just sharted in his pants.
So, I'm bracing for hell. I am really curious to see where this all leads to other programs. If this ends with KU, this was a nasty conspiracy plain and simple. The other programs seem very relaxed and KU is now tarnished. Congrats Jayhawk Nation because now we are the scourge of college basketball. We have gone from the mecca of basketball to the slums of basketball history and one man TJ Gassanola and his ass of a lawyer not only destroyed KU bball, but tarnished a kid in the process. Nice! Oh...Rock Chalk Jayhawk Go KU...You can take a guy of Kansas, but you can't take Kansas out of the guy. I'm a truehawk through and through. I don't care what this damn mess causes.
Assisted or has been requested by university staff to assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
Let's pretend I was taking to Bill Self and told him how much he needs Zion Williamson. Self says, sure, but how would you go get him? I say, well, let me try to talk with some friends and see where he stands....(all pretend)
I return to Self to inform him that Williamson was in fact interested in KU. I ask Williamson would it would take to join KU. He says whatever KU can do to get me to their program. Like what Zion? Well, Zion is too humble to tell me, so I say how about setting up an home visit with Self? Zion says ok, sure!
Now...my terrible pretend scenario makes me look like a booster. But the question is, who made me a booster? Self? Myself? Zion? Oh, wait, it just so happens I know quite a few other players and they really like me and are influenced by me. What makes me a booster? Oh, MONEY! I never mentioned money, bought, paid for players?
Yet by the NCAAs definition, technically, I'm a booster.
NCAA Bullet #5: Assisted or has been requested by university staff to assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
I think the key phrase is "requested." Who requested what? when? I never actually heard Gassanola say during the Grand Jury that he was "requested" to get players. He chose and Self humored him. Who really honestly gained? So the NCAA has to prove that he was specifically "requested" by Self to get a player. There was never any agreement. Gassanola just went and talked to players. We really don't know if money was involved. We are assuming money was involved. So Fenney and SDS are guilty? Gassanola is guilty? Self is guilty? Oh, Townsend said, "Whatever it takes..." What the hell does that really mean? NOTHING!
This is a damn witch hunt and the NCAA looks foolish for not taking care of business. They have spent tax payers money and now there will be hell to pay, evidence or not. KU is going to pay the govt back.
That gavel is a resounding statement. NCAA can't wait to drop the hammer.
Long said, that day, Kansas "disagreed" on how to define Gassnola's role but that the NCAA made it a condition of considering De Sousa's reinstatement.
"The NCAA told us that they would not consider a reinstatement unless we included that information," Long said. "If we did not include the hypothetical, they would not consider reinstatement until after the enforcement investigation was complete." Since the FBI announced its investigation in September 2017, college basketball has braced for what could be significant NCAA penalties against the sport's blue bloods.
The ol' bait and switch to the "Gotcha"
NCAA president Mark Emmert said in December investigations into schools named by the FBI "have already been launched," but he failed to identify individual programs. Emmert told a group of reporters in December that the association had the "manpower and willpower" to investigate some of biggest names and brands in college basketball stemming from the FBI investigation
He sounds like a man with a Napolean complex. He has little man syndrome. He talks real big. He means they have the FBI helping them. Here's a question for you little man, WHY DIDN'T YOU HAVE THE MANPOWER TO INVESTIGATE BEFORE? WHY ALL OF A SUDDEN DO YOU THREATEN NOW? YOU'RE GIVING ALL THE OTHER BLUE BLOODS FAIR WARNING? WE GOT ONE,,,WE'LL GET YOU TOO. I remember how everyone was defending the NCAA because they didn't have the manpower. Well, Emmerts funny how you all of a sudden have the manpower when it's convenient and makes you look competent.
This man is no president. He is an opportunist and looking to make a name for himself at KU's expense. The writer of this article is simply making a living and this article is nothing new. The only thing new is Buckner's input. How do we hire him? KU's lawyers and Long have no idea what the hell they're doing. Why would you agree to Gassanola as a booster? HE WAS NOT A BOOSTER. This is STUPID beyond any reasonable doubt. I'm not impressed with Long's handling this delicate and costly case.
"Most of my cases that I deal with also have a student-athlete reinstatement component," said Michael Buckner, a South Florida sports attorney who specializes in NCAA cases. "My advice to my clients is … that [a reinstatement case] may impact the circumstances of enforcement later on."
PLEASE HIRE MICHAEL BUCKNER TO REPRESENT KU. DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN...KU is sinking unnecessarily.
I've been shouting since this mess started that KU is the only program, along with Zona, to be implicated. They mentioned "Blue Bloods." Something tells me Puke, Kensucky, and UNC are not under investigation. Damn it, if they impose these unjust sanctions of the 2018, SDS wins, and this year and next, that's a bunch of BULLSHIT. I can half way understand vacating wins with SDS. But why punish the team? He was not the only player who played. He was a small part. Then to say we have to lose something this year and next is BULLSHIT. We've been punished enough already. We've clearly lost recruits, SDS has sat out this whole season, DOKE is out. What more do they want?
Lastly, Nassir was investigated and cleared very quickly. Williamson still plays and Puke will likely win the NC. I have a feeling KU is the only Blue Blood that gets screwed in this mess. Emmert and the NCAA is clearly picking and choosing what they want to investigate. Again, many were named in the Grand Jury, but KU is the targeted.
It's not over, not yet.

It was stupid to expect texas to do the right thing. Good grief, they are horrible.
Dang, I really wanted to believe in them tonight.
Let's hope that ISU wins, we can win, and either Baylor or TCU will beat ksuck.
I really think we can beat TT.
KU needs to focus and win the rest of their games one game at a time. When it's all over, we'll see how it all ends.
DanR said:
@truehawk93 I'll give KState and coach Liberace credit so far. They're staying focused so far despite the super bowl win at home.
A lot of games against some stiff competition. I'm not saying they'll lose, but right now ksuck is vulnerable.
This is what pisses me off about the B12 teams. They beat KU and then coast. Everyone's goal is to be KU and then cruise control. No one else matters. Other wins will be gravy.
Maybe OSU will pull off the upset against ksuck.
DanR said:
Gotta give Shaka some credit. He cashed in on one big win and phoned it in from then on.
Sure he did. He got it his one marquee win. He's good.
ksuck has ISU, OSU, at KU, BU, at TCU, OU...
ISU is capable
We can beat them
Baylor is capable
at TCU is going to be a good game

Shaka has 5 more losses at UT already and 99 less wins than he did at VCU. He is not a good coach
No he is not. He got out coached by Liberace.
Ok, what the hell Texas huck up all 3s you have
Roach time
Geez. I think the Horns want to give it away.
