@Bwag Love-hate. Wouldn't be able to see our team without them. But jeez!

Moss
5 points in 5 minutes!
@nwhawkfan I guess so, but I really don't need to see a court storming.
I'm happy to see Duke go down, but I'd rather see our game.
@Crimsonorblue22 Eastern?
He's shooting bows AND arrows!
Can Braun play point?
We only have 4 turnovers. Ochai has 3 of them
Dot is rather speedy
Grab it!
Shoulda been a jump ball
@KirkIsMyHinrich Looked like a pass!
4th time's a charm

He has absolutely not regressed. That's wild talk. Does he have flaws of course he does. Mainly his jumper but he is better this year while taking on more offensive responsibility.

Dot's scoring is up, while shooting % is down, especially from 3. Assists and steals both up a fair bit.

And Then there is Devonte graham!
he IS NOT a Devonte Graham
Not yet. Devonte wasn't Devonte in his second year. Couldn't Dot improve similarly with another 2.5 seasons of seasoning?
@benshawks08 Do you mean Dave will be better than Dok?
Udoka just turned 20. Four months ago he was still a teenager. He has only played in 20 league games his whole college career, even though he's a senior, because of injuries. He just recently learned how to grab a frickin' rebound.
I think he's still learning. His upside is still huge. He's an athletic giant, still developing skills.
I do like Dave, but Dok is unusual, special, a real monster, and I think he still has way more in him.
It's about time this huge man figured out how to grab a rebound. Keep it up, Dok!

Get ready for a lot of these ugly games in the 50's and 60's today. KU also played essentially 6 men today.
5 guys played >30 minutes, 4 guys played 10 minutes or less. Bimodal distribution.
@stoptheflop Weird game, low-scoring, so not too worried. Interesting that Braun played the entire second half without coming out (like Dot and Ochai).
What happened to Enaruna? Only played 1 minute.
Weird interview, with Self standing and neither announcer bothering to stand up to talk to him.
Tie game, nobody with >1 foul, time to start over. Reboot! Lets go!
@FarmerJayhawk I thought he stepped on the line, but I'll take it!

What's become of Ben McLemore? I don't follow pro ball at all, but I never hear him mentioned.

Breathing room.
@approxinfinity I was just typing the same thing! Not much progress.
Whew. Up by 10 is a lot better than up by 5, given how the half started
Dok has 10 rebounds already.
What an ugly game. Bill must be loving it.
I'm a little relieved for Stanford, they finally scored.
One on 5 is not good odds.
@nwhawkfan I haven't heard. I do love his enthusiasm for the game, but he's probably ready to retire.
Oh no, Dickie V
Is Moss still suffering from that nagging hamstring issue? There were some articles last month about his quickness suffering from it. Maybe that has lingered?
Interesting point. You can't get too cocky when you lose your first game. Seemed an issue with some previous teams, but maybe this team's intensity will continue throughout the regular season and into the post season.
The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of playing such a recognized opponent the first game - as long as we lose. Because the outcome is really meaningless for the first game of the season, but our young players may not recognize that. If they win, they get big heads. If they lose, they will work harder.
Wait, did I just advocate losing to Duke every year? Ick!
Holy crap, I didn't realize Dave only played 17 minutes. 28 points in less than half the game! Even more impressive.
First half we were -1 in rebounds. This half we're +12 with 7.5 minutes left. That's more like it.
@DanR Wasn't T-Rob's senior year in the NBA??
@Crimsonorblue22 Um...too indecisive?
@Texas-Hawk-10 Maybe the slow start to this game will help their focus.

@chriz Piper and Armstrong... local Jayhawks tv guys
Much better than some of the ESPN alternatives.

So.. my brother thinks we will stomp Villanova. Are you guys feeling it? I know little about Villanova this year.
They are ranked 20, but Baylor beat them there. If we can focus, we have a good shot. Would be nice to beat Jay Wright.
We were out-rebounded 1st half. That shouldn't happen.
We've had snow since October. But it beats working up a sweat sitting still in Orlando.
I moved here from Florida 10 years ago.
@DanR Yep, about 13 hours north of this game.

My VPN and ESPN+ are in an arms race. ESPN+ doesn’t work outside the US, but with the VPN I could watch the pre-season. Then ESPN+ smartened up, and it hasn’t worked the last few games. Thought I’d have to listen online again. But I just got an update for the VPN, and voila, I can watch this game! I am happy, even with the glitches.
I totally missed that thread from 2017, but more than happy to contribute this time around.
Toppins also got 9 rebounds. Dok got 3. Our team got more boards than theirs, but our top 3 rebounders are guards.
Garrett hit 5-6 free throws and Dok make 5-8. I'll take that any game.
