Weird Tip Time Game Thread • Feb 29, 2020 04:16 PM

@BShark said in Weird Tip Time Game Thread:

Why does this game start at 12:30?

Maybe CBS has a different programming schedule than ESPN, where most of our games are aired?

I'm looking forward to seeing a game on network TV. I can only see ESPN online. Maybe @Crimsonorblue22 won't be 2 minutes ahead of me for once!

Hangover II Game Thread • Feb 25, 2020 02:57 AM

Dok has 11 boards

@Texas-Hawk-10 said in Biggest Game of the Year and it's at 11am Thread:

I really hope there's this series ends up a trilogy this season in KC. These legitimately are 2 of the 4 best teams in college basketball this season and the atmosphere inside Ferrell Center was incredible today. Only thing comparable I've been too was mid to late 2000's Texas in Austin.

Have you been to Allen Fieldhouse?

Whew!

Woulda been Garret's 4th

0-5, but who do you put in instead?

Dave has 4 fouls in 4 minutes. Put him in for one more foul to give Dok 1 minute of rest. Then Tristan will be the one to provide any rest for Dok.

Dok walked.

Better from behind? • Feb 18, 2020 05:06 AM

@chriz To me, Moss and Braun are a coin flip right now. Kinda nice to have that friendly competition. Both are good, neither great, but have the potential to be great in any game. They are substitutable, and that's not bad. Let their recent play determine who starts, and their play the first half determine who starts the second half.

@Crimsonorblue22 With the glasses? Did you just see him on Gameday Live?

WeatherWAXED Game Thread • Feb 18, 2020 03:53 AM

ISU is 1-7 from 3 this half. What a difference halftime makes.

WeatherWAXED Game Thread • Feb 18, 2020 03:32 AM

@FarmerJayhawk Uncommon on ESPN!

WeatherWAXED Game Thread • Feb 18, 2020 03:29 AM

Grabbed both arms from behind. Reach around doesn't seem very common.

WeatherWAXED Game Thread • Feb 18, 2020 03:21 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 I didn't catch it.

Sooner or Later OU was sent packing • Feb 18, 2020 03:06 AM

Billy Tubbs had his team cut down the nets at Allen Fieldhouse when they clinched the Big 8 championship in 1984. They were up by 12 and called a time out near the end of the game, just to rub it in.

“They’re a great team,” first-year KU coach Larry Brown said. “I wish they acted like a great team. I’ve never seen a team cut down the nets on a visiting court.”

Talk about a dick move.

WeatherWAXED Game Thread • Feb 18, 2020 02:52 AM

@Bwag Sometimes we've struggled to get that in a game this year!

WeatherWAXED Game Thread • Feb 18, 2020 02:50 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 And I like Hutch too.

WeatherWAXED Game Thread • Feb 18, 2020 02:49 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 7

WeatherWAXED Game Thread • Feb 18, 2020 02:36 AM

@BeddieKU23 Or just clumsy. Looked too painful for a flop.

WeatherWAXED Game Thread • Feb 18, 2020 02:20 AM

@DanR Our best outside shooter.

I moved to Canada 10 years ago. Been pretty happy with our health care.

@Crimsonorblue22 I pick up roadkill all the time. Biologists get a lot of data that way.

Superbowl Hangover Game Thread • Feb 04, 2020 04:21 AM

Our 3-pt percentage really stepped up. From 14% in first half to 16.7% for the game. Lovely.

Superbowl Hangover Game Thread • Feb 04, 2020 03:56 AM

Dok is feeling better.

Superbowl Hangover Game Thread • Feb 04, 2020 02:10 AM

Dok had a dust-up with Bill at the end of the last game? Didn't hear about that.

Super Bowl • Feb 03, 2020 03:01 AM

There we go.

Super Bowl • Feb 03, 2020 02:35 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Don't give up!

Garrett had 3 blocks for the game. Same as Dok.

Pistols Out of Ammo Game Thread • Jan 28, 2020 04:08 AM

@DanR Maybe it's better to let the starting point guard dribble out the clock than a seldom-used backup center.

Dok been really good at staying out of foul trouble this season, even while becoming much more assertive on defense. He has fouled out only once, against Dayton, the game that went to overtime. He's had 4 fouls in 2 other games.

It would be a good strategy to get him in foul trouble, but he has smartened up a lot, and I suspect he'll be ok.

Big 12 Suspensions • Jan 25, 2020 07:11 PM

@Kubie Exactly.

Big 12 Suspensions • Jan 25, 2020 07:10 PM

@bskeet I meant I disagree with Bilas. He said the block was unnecessary. I thought it was awesome. At least, if had ended there.

Greenberg is an ass.

Big 12 Suspensions • Jan 25, 2020 06:03 PM

I disagree about the block. If it had ended there, without the subsequent taunt, that would have been poetic. Block the shot and walk away. Sends the right message:

"Don't be unsportsmanlike, young man. You can't handle it."

And I have to tell you, I'm sick of the issues with dribbling out the clock.

We didn't have anybody on the floor who could really handle the ball. Certainly shouldn't have been Silvio trying to run out the clock.

And then he got upset when the KSU kid took the ball away from him. No excuse, but he shouldn't have been in that position.

Liberace Game Thread • Jan 22, 2020 02:13 AM

Dave and Garrett were standing over the white shirt black pants bench player on the floor at the end. Expressing their disapproval.

@Crimsonorblue22 Superbowl LIV applied to the title of an old Susan Hayward movie. Probably amusing only to me, sorry.

I want to LIV!

Bevo Steak Tastes Bad Game Thread • Jan 19, 2020 02:57 PM

@BShark It's also biased towards offensive performance. I'm actually pleased to see Garrett ranked so highly based on that stat. Shows how much his offense has improved this season.

Bevo Steak Tastes Bad Game Thread • Jan 19, 2020 02:49 PM

@BShark I know. My comment was really directed at those other posters. Some people think only one game matters each season, the last one. If that were true, we'd miss out on a lot of joy along the way.

Funny how a stubborn, unchanging man’s unwillingness to commit to one offensive style has people’s cockles up. Dude can’t win.

Except he's won 482 games at KU, 681 games overall as head coach.

Bevo Steak Tastes Bad Game Thread • Jan 18, 2020 09:08 PM

@wissox Fran did rag on the Texas players mid second half, called them out for lack of effort. He also called out the crowd for lack of energy.

Yet he still pissed me off several times. I just wonder if fans from other teams get as annoyed with him as we do?

Bevo Steak Tastes Bad Game Thread • Jan 18, 2020 07:28 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I thought so too when the call was made. The replay showed otherwise.

Bevo Steak Tastes Bad Game Thread • Jan 18, 2020 07:06 PM

Outside shot, steal, then an assist. Nice, Dave.

I like emotion when it's genuine. When a player who is usually pretty stoic gets pumped and excited, that's pretty special, and makes me laugh. Their happiness is infectious. But a player who screams and celebrates on every pedestrian play looks a little silly to me.

It just has to be natural, neither suppressed nor forced.

@FarmerJayhawk Physically similar. Above the neck, different story.

Hide the Cheerleaders Game Thread • Jan 15, 2020 02:50 AM

@DanR Garrett is smart. I loved Tyshawn by the end, but he didn't suffer from an overabundance of wisdom most of his time at KU.
