I love seeing Silvio actively box out after every shot. He and Dok complement each other beautifully. Very different strengths.
The yellow dots line up like they should, from lower left to upper right. Good job Huggy.
Blue dots line up pretty well too, but you can see why Bill is trying to run more offense through Dok.
I like the decision to award co-coach of the year to Chris Beard and Bill Self. Beard has done an amazing job with Texas Tech, bringing them from obscurity to national prominence, and deserves to be recognized. But Self just won the conference for the 14th time in a row, with one of his weaker teams. The tie is a nice compromise.
I want both. Honestly, I think the question is a bit silly. If you're the best team in your conference, you probably have a better shot at the national championship than if you aren't.
Would we play differently if our goal was ONLY to win the national championship and didn't care about the conference championship? I don't think so.
If we didn't try to be great every single year, might we be even better in one given year? I don't see how.
I want to win our next game. Always. Do that, and the streaks and championships take care of themselves. There's no trading. Just win.

We don't need no help to win the league. I want TTech to win so we can beat them Saturday and win it ourselves.
We can still rub it in.

You might have something. Found on some obscure site:

- A liar, or faker.
- Someone lame/pathetic.
@KUSTEVE So 6 current Big 12 teams have a better home foul advantage than KU. Interesting.
Nice way to quantify the value of a glue guy.
Fantastic, thanks for sharing. Nice to have that history documented.
@HighEliteMajor I guess I'm just hopeful, trying to stay positive. Certainly it's just one game, and it doesn't necessarily mean everything is fixed. But frankly I was prepared for a loss, and we didn't lose. So to me, we're on an upswing!
@HighEliteMajor It makes everybody feel better, players and fans alike. Confidence and chemistry have been issues with this team, and a win in Ames should help. You're right, nothing of substance has changed. We still lack depth, which is our main problem of substance. But getting everybody's heads in the right place could very well help with the intangibles.
@jaybate-1.0 I was just thinking he'll be bald by the time he's 30. Maybe 25.
@BShark It certainly could change, and likely will to some extent. But can you envision any way a 3-time All-American would come back to school for a 4th year instead of going to the NBA? I can't.

That's pretty cool.

How many 4-time All Americans have there been in history, not just KU but all schools?
However many there are, there won't be any more.
@DanR Good call, thanks.
I missed the game, but read that Billy Preston didn't play. Did they say why not?
Lots of new faces.
@wissox I agree that overconfidence was an issue. I mean, we had just won the first 3 games by an AVERAGE of 30! And in the last half of the previous game, we were unstoppable. Nobody could have beat us that night.
Then when Jackson got those 2 quick fouls and had to sit, we remembered the TCU shocker, and how we couldn't get it done without him. We remembered our fallibility and lost our composure. Those 3 times when we lost a rebound because 2 KU guys were fighting each other for it, with no Oregon player anywhere close, epitomized for me how we just weren't all on the same page.
Frank bailed us out so many times during the season, bringing us back from the brink to save the day. But this game we needed his heroics too early, just to stay somewhat close, that even he was unable to pull us all the way through, all the way to the end.
Bottom line, we just had a bad game. It's a characteristic of a one&done tournament. The best team doesn't always win. I'm not sure I believe the Elite-8 Self jinx. Shit just happens. It's certainly shitty. But it happens.
I'm betting Graham comes back next year. I'll be happy to see him in a KU uniform again.
We've lost 2 rebounds because 2 of our players were fighting each other for it. We're just discombobulated. Need to get our heads back in it.
The new thread title is making me hungry.
There we go.
Good teamwork between Graham and Vick. Looking forward to more of that next year!
We're pretty good when we play with intensity and urgency.
Nice ball movement
Coleby looks little now.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Cuonzo Martin, wow, I missed that news. Guess I don't pay much attention to that state any more.
@DanR I forgot about that! Hilarious.
Anybody remember the last time we played Purdue in the Sweet 16? Glenn Big Dog Robinson scored 30 in the first half and 44 for the game. 23 years later, it's time for revenge!
Frank was merely average today --- for a National Player of the Year!!
20 points and 5 assists.
Good timeout call by Self. Couldn't wait the extra 18 sec for the under 12 TV timeout. Settle the guys down, get their heads back in it.
@Crimsonorblue22 No, Graham got it. Probably correctly.
@Blown His heel was on the restricted line. Or at least above it - some thought he was on his toes. But it wasn't a horrible call.
@DoubleDD I agree. This will be a fun, and memorable win!
@wissox Jud Heathcote and Scott Skiles would agree.

Did Svi just try and Grayson Allen someone?
Looked like he just slipped, but I was thinking the same thing at first.
That was pretty.
Vick knows how to box out. That's good, rare for a guard.
Yes, like that!
@Eric-san Good. we need to go inside, not settle for jump shots.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Maybe a little bit of fiction.
Wally Szczerbiak looks like something out of Marvel Comics.
@Bwag Great point. We've already beaten Kentucky this year. Need an opportunity to destroy WSU.
Wow. Louisville. I suck at predicting basketball game winners.
@JayHawkFanToo 8-point favorites. I'd take that.
@Crimsonorblue22 We're on CBS, that's fantastic! Watching the other channels outside the US is a challenge. I went to a bar tonight to see KU play, but it was loud and distracting. On network TV, I can hide alone in my den and focus and appreciate all the little things that make KU basketball so great. And share with other true fans on this site!
I like Jesse, and I like Gary Bedore, but their newspaper has turned the sports page into a gossip column. I won't be reading anything coming from that paper for quite some time, regardless of the author. I won't begrudge anybody who does, but I'm staying away.
