@approxinfinity Looks like the East is locked now, but the West says:
Locking Rules: Unlocked - Brackets may leave/join group at any time
So maybe people can still join the Western Conference?

@approxinfinity KU all the way, always!
@approxinfinity Hey, I just realized you have 2 groups in the Tournament Challenge: KU Buckets and KUBuckets. One with a space and one without.
Couldn't figure out why my entry wasn't listed and had to add it again - to the second one. I'm doing equally poorly in both!
I like filling out a bracket so I have somebody to root for in games I don't really care about. As long as KU is still playing, I really don't care how bad my bracket is doing. If it does well, that's cool. Makes me look smart. Or just lucky. If my bracket does poorly, at least I participated. Seems collegial in a group like this. And since KU is still playing, that's really all that matters.
If/when KU loses, I quit watching the tournament or paying attention to my bracket. I just sulk and pout. So I might as well pick KU to go all the way, every year. Rock Chalk!
@JayHawkFanToo Mullet
So if a guy shoots an air ball, when are you allowed to touch it?
Referring to Svi's "goaltend", which Self took exception to.
@BeddieKU23 Looked like he was trying to dribble. Not wise.
Wow, ESPN2 is way better than ESPN3 !!
@RockChalkinTexas Still sounds better than my crappy view. I need to reboot.
@RockChalkinTexas Always a from behind the basket perspective?
@Crimsonorblue22 At least then I could still mute!
I'm at work, watching on ESPN3, but it's weird. No announcers, strange camera angle, all from above or behind the basket.
I'd almost prefer to hear Fran and see the game from mid-court perspective. The camera follows the ball and I can't see what everybody else is doing. It's weird.
Our defense includes a lot of switching following screens. Sometimes Svi just ends up guarding Forte. Or trying to.
@globaljaybird Svi
@Crimsonorblue22 Still 6 for BIFM
@drgnslayr Perry Ellis career stats at KU
Shot the most 3s, with a good percentage, his final year.
@dylans
Jaron Blossomgame Clemson 3.7%
Evan Bradds Belmont 4.2%
Josh Hart Villanova University 4.7%
Josh Hawkinson Washington State University 3.8%
Nigel Hayes Wisconsin 4.8%
Amile Jefferson Duke University 12.7%
Peter Jok Iowa 4.5%
Przemek Karnowski Gonzaga University 34.1%
Tim Kempton Lehigh University 3.8%
Frank Mason III University of Kansas 23.8%
@KUSTEVE "Since 1990, KU has been seeded No. 2 on average. Kansas has been seeded worse than fourth just twice! Jayhawks fans talk in hushed tones about the dark ages: 1998-2000. A No. 8 seed. Shudder. "
That's brilliant.
@chriz Yes! March 2, 1962.
@justanotherfan I think the point of Jesse's article is that Lucas is not a negative on offense, even if he doesn't score. He facilitates scoring by others in ways that do not show up in the box score.
Great article by Jesse Newell about how much Landon Lucas impacts the game without showing up in the box score.

I don't know if it's been posted on another thread, but it's certainly relevant to this one. By being in the right place at the right time his impact is huge, even with his pan hands (injured or otherwise).
Last year, when Lucas was being lambasted here on his production per minute from box score statistics I did a lousy job trying to point out the things Jesse does here that make him so valuable. Those are why his teammates like him on the floor, and why his +/- scores are usually among the highest on the team. The team does better when he plays, even if his individual statistics don't show it.
But I was amused by one of Jesse's observations, while describing all these great positional things that Landen does:
"...and the rebound bounces off Lucasβ hands to teammate Josh Jackson."
I just think we can forgive those pan hands.
@Crimsonorblue22 I think it was at Norman.
@Crimsonorblue22 81-53
@approxinfinity Played 39 minutes
@Hawk8086 But it's all Walton. Can't really blame the other guy. He's trying.
@Crimsonorblue22 13 - that's close to a million
Meanwhile Bragg has 2 fouls in 2 minutes (with 2 points). At least if one other big besides Lucas steps up each game, we should be ok.
Coleby has 10 points in 8 minutes. Fantastic.
@DCHawker His history is fine, it's the present that he has a hard time with.
@kjayhawks His schtick is mildly entertaining for a short time, but I think we're past that.
Next home game Graham should not be allowed to start. Let Tyler start in his place. That would be a reasonable punishment.
(on Senior Night)
2nd half rebounds 21-11 KU
@Hawk8086 Good for the blood pressure.
It got real quiet in Allen Fieldhouse.
@DoubleDD You mean on #34 for TCU? I was wondering the same thing.
@Crimsonorblue22 Looks like Landen!

Best site I know for viewing live stats. I haven't closed that page since the game ended.
@Fightsongwriter Make that 200!

βI knew that was back-to-back games where I didnβt make clutch free throws,β said Lucas. βIn the tournament, we might lose a game because of that. I figured I had to stay in the gym until I hit a couple hundred. It was more than 200. It was a lot. I was in there until I felt confident moving forward.β
That's senior leadership.
Vick has been playing better recently, and he admitted early in the year he prefers to start. But Self has said it doesn't matter who starts, and while that easily could be coach-speak, he certainly can adjust the minutes to reward the player who is performing.
I also like the idea of starting the junior over the sophomore. In the era of one&dones it's nice to reward longevity.
Bottom line, though, is that we're about to win #13 in a row. While not playing stellar all game every game, we've had some fantastic wins. Let's not rock the boat. Just enjoy the ride!
@dylans said:
I wonder what Svi's +/- is? He gives up too many easy drives to the hoop.
Svi was -5 this game. Vick was +8.
For comparison, our POY was +5 this game. Lucas was +10.

That quote is brilliant.

@BShark Svi played well at the start of the 2nd half, but his confidence is gone at this point
Playing defense isn't an issue of confidence, though.
Whew!
Senior!
Lucas didn't walk, his pivot foot was set.
@stoptheflop said:
Down 12 on the boards, 28/16. How is this game tied?
Boards tied 2nd half at 6 each.
@stoptheflop And 14% from the 3.
That Jackson box out was nice, pushed his man way out of the play.
The other guards need to take notice.
I need sunglasses to watch those uniforms.
