Kev gets away with one! Hate to see refs swallow a whistle even when it helps us.

Come all the way back, act like you've made it, then start doing dumb things again. Happens a lot in basketball.

Wilson gets fouled every time he is near the basket but they've only called it a couple of times.

KU/Oklahoma St Game Thread • Dec 31, 2022 07:29 PM

Who is that a foul on? LIke nobody?

I don't get nervous until the last minute. I do recall a KU game recently in which a 14 point deficit was nothing!

KU/Oklahoma St Game Thread • Dec 31, 2022 07:00 PM

Stupidest turnovers I've seen all year.

KU/Oklahoma St Game Thread • Dec 31, 2022 06:15 PM

I saw future KStater Dai Dai Ames play the other night in a tournament. He scored 66 in a previous round. He's really good. Watched Jacob Pullen's younger brother in the 3rd place game for famed Proviso East as well. He's coached by Donny Boyce and Sherrell Ford who were Proviso East teammates. Boyce played at Colorado. Ford played at UIC and they also weren't the best known Proviso East Pirate, as Michael Finley made up a trio that were all drafted, two were their colleges all time leading scorer and Ford was only 13 points off from the all time best.

KU/Oklahoma St Game Thread • Dec 31, 2022 06:05 PM

@KirkIsMyHinrich Not sure I've ever watched both playoff semifinal games but I think I will today. I've been doing a lot of channel switching for the last half hour.

KU/Oklahoma St Game Thread • Dec 31, 2022 05:58 PM

My disdain for Alabama and the SEC supersedes my dislike for KState so I'm hoping KState can win.

Texans really need to expand their sports interests. Ranked TCU playing on a holiday weekend afternoon and they can't find 6800 people interested in attending a really good home game? Must be sad to be a fan of just about every other team in America, because most teams have many empty seats these days.

Desperate Moments... • Dec 31, 2022 05:50 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I'm math challenged! So yes, Kstate I'd be fine with them not making the dance!

Desperate Moments... • Dec 31, 2022 04:50 AM

Let's see, when we go 18-0 will is it possible for the all the other teams to be 9-9? That will get everyone in I think.

And goodness yes, lets play a game. At least we had our super bowl the other night for a diversion.

@kuballin10 Thanks for your reply to BShark. Social media, particularly when we're kind of anonymous outside of our love for a team really can make us uncaring for people. We see a negative comment, insult them and write them off as someone we hate. We all have lives that include way more important things than sports. None of us want to see our loved ones suffer. But you gave us an peek into your world, and of a Dad who shaped who you are now. Again, thanks for opening up a bit and glad to have you here. Will pray for your dad too and God bless you and your family.

BOWL THREAD • Dec 30, 2022 04:40 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Ok, so maybe play call was the wrong term, but taking the ball out of Jalon's hands was the call I was referring to. You're right, the play seemed to work correctly, but since Jalon had executed so well I'm just a bit surprised he wasn't the one with the task of tying it up.

Other games • Dec 30, 2022 04:34 AM

@mayjay No they weren't interesting. You must be from South Carolina or something. I mean if you lived in a state of intellectual people like Chicago you'd know.

Other games • Dec 29, 2022 01:02 PM

Eek, Gonz beat EAQ the score says. Now EAQ, I haven't even clicked to see who EAQ is but I'm guessing they're not in the top uh, 200?

Eastern Australian Queensland? Emporia Aquifer? Earl and Quinton? Estonia, Armenia and Qatar? Everybody's Aunt Queeny? Anyways, congrats Gonz for their 78 point victory.

BOWL THREAD • Dec 29, 2022 03:20 AM

Things I learned from whomever the color commentator was. KU receiver gets obviously interferred with and Mr. SEC announcer says it wasn't, kept going on and on.

When we scored in the last minute and we were down by two, he informed us KU is going to have to go for 2 here.

Other than the announcer, I had a miracle myself. I was at my daughters in Minnesota, new we wouldn't be able to make it home in time for the start of the game so I figured out how to record the game and had the foresight to record the next game for the inevitable game overlap.

The two turnovers were deadly. We win if Jalen doesn't make a really bad throw and the kick returner doesn't fumble.

Lance Liepold will have a statue someday.

Glad we're getting Jalon back. Hopefully we get a defense next year because our D was pourous.

Like others I was a little miffed by the last minute call. It was a bit strange to take it out of Jalon's hands.

@KirkIsMyHinrich My complicated sports world includes Illinois as that's where I grew up and while I will pull for them this program is a constant disappointment. One of the greatest states for producing talent and it continues to endure embarrassments like this. I was excited for the Brad Underwood hire, but not thinking he has what it takes.

Last spring when I was in the United Center for the elite 8 and they were announcing the players and coach after we won a lady screamed "F... You Bill Self". I think Illinois fans recognize he was the one who was going to lead them to the promised land and they're still bitter about losing him.

But as bad as Mizzou looked against us, this result is just a shocker tonight.

That being said there's lots of shockers going on in college hoops this year. If you just look up through this thread there's plenty of evidence of a sort of parity in our great game.

@Crimsonorblue22 Remind me, who is Bryce and which OSU does he play for?

KU vs Haaaarvard Game Thread • Dec 23, 2022 01:03 AM

@Jayblaze Is that our next game? If so, then yes, but I am keeping an eye on the playoff. Was thinking we'll be Liberty Bowling a few days before that though so maybe then?!
