@Marco Unfortunately in my view I think you're right. Laws supported Kyle which means there really needs to be some law changes.
BIG not looking too great so far. Illinois embarrassing the entire league against Cincy. They've scored 7 points in the first 13 minutes of the 2nd half. Had a 15 point lead with 10 minutes left in the first half and since then have been outscored by 34.
He's been one of my favorites the last couple of years. He seems to do what he does effortlessly which to me looks like he's not giving 110%. I guess that means he's a natural!
No Purdue/Villanova on major markets all over the country. ABC here in Chicago played some cuddly animal show. This is unbelievably bad decision making by someone. Purdue is less than 2 hours from Chicago. Lots of Boilermaker alums all over the area here.
@AsadZ No I was too far to see the bench to see if Selden was there.
@rockchalkwyo that’s what they meant by nice pieces!
At the bulls and Knicks. Quentin Grimes just came in.
@FarmerJayhawk Interesting to think about. Job lost everything, Neb has kind of the same.
Yeah, the ESPN box score says ABC. I'm kind of pissed. Top 10 battle relegated to an app you have to pay for. ABC here is showing infomericals.
Villanova and Purdue are playing and it's not on TV?
@Oldmanhawk Wow, that's an awesome story!! I have a Scooter story too. I was in my first week at KU. I really knew very little about the basketball tradition I'd walked into. Well I had a short field trip for a Geography class and getting into van I closed the door accidentally on someones hand. I hear "I hope that's not your shooting hand". He wasn't hurt. I sized him up as a skinny white kid and assumed the shooting hand comment meant he was a golfer or something like that. So I asked and he said he was Scooter and on the team. He was very cool. He told me his who his dad was and I remember watching him in the ABA.
@Crimsonorblue22 I don't understand your comment.
I was at a NonKU game yesterday in football and it was a blast. UW beat Nebraska which oddly is 1-7 in the B1G but has outscored its opponents in league games 218-211. The one game they won the won by 49 and they've had close games against everyone else. Badgers 17 year old RB ran for 225 yards.
@Oldmanhawk That was my first year at KU and you can look this up, but we beat Louisville twice that year. I saw the AFH game. They also won against them in a Holiday tournament. But of course the officials decided in the FF that Duke deserved to beat us. It's documented as the first appearance of the Duke whistle!
@rockchalkwyo Join the club!!
@rockchalkwyo To be fair, we have some home town refs too!
What are your views? Try to be civil, lets discuss.
My view. Kyle Rittenhouse should be held accountable for the deaths that he caused. There would be two people alive today, albeit lowlife hooligans, but even they deserve to live. Some argue fairly reasonably I admit, that had he not been attacked then they wouldn't have gotten shot.
I also believe the judge influenced this case greatly. From not letting the prosecution call them victims to the confusing and rambling jury instructions which I also believed influenced the case.
Not quite looking for a fight here. I actually have to go eat so I'll finish this up later! I have some thoughts on Georgia and vigilantes.
Yum. Georgia was I think more tragic because Ahmad Arbery was a true victim. He was profiled by his attackers who supposed themselves to be the law for a perceived offense of trespassing in an under construction house.
In this insanely intense moment of American History where we've been divided probably more than any time since the Civil War, the defendants have their supporters while many are hoping and praying for justice.
Yet jurors of color were dismissed. Black pastors were kicked out of the courtroom. To my way of thinking, this is the trial of so many famous like Medgar Evers killers to Emmitt Tills, and those not famous yet equally tragic in their deaths by segregationists. I'm not thinking we were having trials like this anymore in this country, even in areas which have struggled to guarantee liberty and justice for all.
32 bucks? I guess Bobby is keying in on the inflationary pricing!
I got to watch on a tiny little phone screen. I think I saw our team win, I mean it looked like guys in our unis playing good and the other unis playing good early and then guys in other unis making lots of shots so I think we won.
Maybe if dueling was still legal we could settle it once and for all! JK No Hamilton/Burr theatrics here today. I messaged my foe and buried the hatchet.
Ugly game of the year candidate. VCU 48 Vandy 37.
@Crimsonorblue22 You started it :)
Maryland taken down by 2005 darling George Mason. Turg aint gonna be happy. Jury is still out on one my Jayhawk Favs if can really take MD to the promised land.
So Monmouth shouldn't have tried to score any more points? How arrogant. We're winning, they want more points. Bill Self didn't call them classless, he let our guy have it as I recall.
Gracie Allen, tripper boy is supposed to be equivalent to Monmouth boy? That makes no sense.
(If you can't handle my posts you can hide what I write, you'll never see nor hear from me again)
@jayballer67 You're one of those adults upset over a 20 year old kid dunking a basketball, legally by the way. Don't ever again tell me "AGAIN now pay attention" like I'm some kid with a memory problem. Understood?
Or I could just say, 'IT's A GAME'! Not life or death!
@jayballer67 I thought it was hilarious when the kid stole the ball and dunked. It was a legal basketball play. I think it's hilarious that adults two or three times older or more than the kid get upset because he dared to steal a ball and run down and dunk the ball.
@mayjay Oh touche! You're right. I was just trying to be, uh, whatever! My bad. They're actually pretty but not sure I should say that either.
@BeddieKU23 some sort of mysterious "lower body injury". Your guess is as good as mine as to what that means.
@jayballer67 Why is he a clown?
@BeddieKU23 Badgers were up against it without Jonathan Davis. He's a pretty decent guard/forward hybrid. His scoring was sorely missed and we really couldn't find buckets in that game. I'm not familiar enough with Crowl and Carlson to know. It was the first game i could watch, and neither played much last season. Crowl is supposed to be a stretch four, but his wide open threes were barely drawing front of the iron. He's been decent so far against a couple of lightweights but struggled for sure last night.
Ugly campus, and I don't just mean the buildings.
@nwhawkfan I'm not sure if you watched but Illini didn't have Kofi Cockburn playing and still had a 10 point lead through most of the 2nd half. Then Underwood inexplicably let one of his guards Carbelo throw the game away. He committed turnover after turnover, and/or poor shot after poor shot. I still cheer for Illinois a bit as a native of that state and I was really pretty pissed off at the result. Brad really blew it.
Checking out Shaka Smart against the Illini. Then the Badgers got Providence.
@BeddieKU23 Thanks! I would have answered early, but I was supposed to be working!
How's it calculated? I mean what do those numbers mean?
What is PER?
@BeddieKU23 "its hard to remember the last time a KU season wasn’t derailed by a significant injury/pandemic situation going into the Tournament."
Not remembering 2018 at the final four missing anyone. I guess my way of thinking I remember only the really significant injury years like 2014 with Embiid hurt. 2012 was humming along all the way to an 8 point loss in the NC. Not remembering injuries then.
I'm not exactly asking you to go back and list every season and its injuries but I'm puzzled by your statement.
My theory is more supported in looking at who knocked us out of the tournament. Last season an elite 8 team beat us, 2019, a final four team knocked us out. 97,o2,03,12,16,18 NChampions beat us. 2017, FF team knocked us out as well as many others. Sweet 16 teams in 14 and 15 knocked us out, in fact other than the killer B years in the mid 2000's we got knocked out by sweet 16 teams every single season going back to 1986 (other than the probation year).
@bskeet too bad it was a late night affair
. Those teams deserved better
Since 1985 when I arrived in town when I was 21.
NCAA tournament every year since 1985 except for the 1 year ban.
Longest streak of tournaments qualified for ever.
Only 2 early exits in that 30+ year period.
24 conference championships.
13 conference tournament championships (and probably 1 more in 2020)
22 sweet 16’s. (and probably 1 more in 2020)
15 elite 8’s (and probably 1 more in 2020)
9 FF’s (and probably 1 more in 2020)
5 Championship games (and probably 1 more in 2020)
2 Championships. (and probably 1 more in 2020)
Kstate’s made the sweet 16 3 times in the same time span, the elite 8 twice, and of course no FF’s since I was born in 1964!
Missouri has made the sweet 16 4 times, elite 8 3 times. Of course no FF’s ever!
I’m not going to take the time to do this research but I’d guess we have more of all those categories than the rest of the Big 12 combined since 1985.
I know none of that assuages your current concerns but these are facts that keeps a lot of us energized for the present and the future.
Florida/Florida St is on ESPN. Close game until Florida with a nice run. Empty seats seen. Unbelievable! Rivalry game, FSU ranked 20. Florida playing on Billy Donovan court. He should still be coaching there. They were a worthy foe for Kentucky to worry about every year. I like what Billy is doing with the Bulls but he really should have stayed in college.
Apply for the opening when they fire Bill for incompetence! LOL, sorry, but you had some reasonable thoughts, but I just think Bill has the insight that practice offers that we don't see. Clemence is interesting I acknowledge. A nice little moment against MSU, but Mitch had some moments too. Defense is valued by Bill of course. Does Clemence offer what Mitch does? I'm not sure. I too am not sold on Harris and thanks to the glitchy ESPN+ I really didn't watch much of Pettiford playing so I don't hold an opinion there. Don't forget Bill had this team coached up to national champion favorite until COVID came along. If COVID had waited, then he's got 2 rings I'm convinced.
@jayballer67 1st road win since 2008.
@stoptheflop I wasn't watching, but he went for 2 in OT when rules said he didn't have to, and well aggression giveth and aggression taketh, blessed be the name of the Jayhawk!
@FarmerJayhawk Leipold! That's the name I'll try not to forget anymore. Seriously glad we got ourselves a coach that is appearing to be up for the challenge.
@mayjay Thanks, coach is a wise man. Got to teach the boys how to win graciously. If I'm gonna get back on the teams football bandwagon I should learn his name. I have a lot of practice forgetting forgettable coaches names!
Why was the coach (forgot his name) mad at the Jayhawk players after the winning 2 point conversion?
HOLY COW KANSAS WON A REAL FOOTBALL GAME!
@Texas-Hawk-10 I'd forgotten you taught. Hope you're having a great year.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Hah, guess you're right. I did read it as 2000, suspect he edited but it wouldn't be the first time I misread something! By the way you spelled Niagara wrong!!
