DePaul commits first violation of game at the 19:59 mark. Got to be a record

Non-KU Games • Nov 11, 2021 01:39 AM

With school off tomorrow I drive down to the spectacular home of DePaul basketball to see them take on Coppin St. it’s on FS1 in case reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond aren’t exciting enough.

It’s the debut of Tyon Foster Grant for DePaul.

Juan Dixon was a great player for Maryland who beat us beat us in the ff of 2002. He’s the head coach for Coppin. Coppin lost by 60 to Loyola last night so I don’t know what to expect.

No shit, Sherlock! • Nov 10, 2021 05:16 PM

@drgnslayr I wonder if Chris Beard is going to regret coaching in the SEC. He had great teams to face nearly every night in our league and a very supportive home base. At Texas, he's coaching where bball is the side show to gulag football, and instead of playing in front of rabid fans in most B12 locations he's going to Starkville, and Gainesville, and Athens, and Nashville, etc etc in front of 'yawn, I guess I'll go to the LSU game tonight' fans.

No shit, Sherlock! • Nov 10, 2021 03:44 AM

@BShark Yeah, those were some intense games. Always surprised his teams didn't make more noise nationally. Of course he gets SC to the final four of all schools which must have really irked the KState folks.

No shit, Sherlock! • Nov 10, 2021 03:32 AM

I think it'd be great if KState became relevant again in basketball. I miss a good rivalry game now that Missouri is gone and KState has gone to seed. There are very few annual games on the schedule that have me looking at my calendar hoping there's no conflicts, etc.

On a side note, and I'm glad no one has done it on this small thread but it bugs me a lot when adults mock someone for their looks, or in Bruce's case his voice. I'd guess he doesn't like sounding like that and when people make up little nicknames for him it just is a tad juvenile.

Any disc golfers out there? • Nov 10, 2021 03:22 AM

I started playing last spring and just hit 100 rounds on my UDisc app. It helps a lot to have a course very near my house and I run when I play so I can make it go pretty quickly.

Wondering what your throws are like, how you typically score, favorite discs, etc.

Where do you like to play? I like looking up courses on UDisc. Do you go solo, leagues, tournaments, etc?

Remy scored 15 in the 2nd half!

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 02:03 AM

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:58 AM

Big Dave guilty of being uh, big

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:55 AM

Dave has 2 rebounds. How is that possible?

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:51 AM

Ochai almost went to Wisconsin.

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:49 AM

Our passing has been sharp tonight. 7 TO's against an Izzo team is no small feat. I'm surprised we don't have more assists actually.

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:45 AM

MSU "trying to make a little run here". LOL

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:41 AM

It's great to be watching and chatting KU basketball again isn't it?

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:37 AM

@BeddieKU23 I hope he's better, I have very few good memories of Moss.

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:31 AM

@RockChalkinTexas I'm 57, his grandfather is probably 70, but this was about 20 years ago. He and I taught together.

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:29 AM

I've played basketball with Hausers grandpa

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:22 AM

Bears coach should have got a T last night

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:17 AM

Harris with two bad misses like that. Like Dirty Harry said "A man's got to know his limitations."

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 01:06 AM

I think Remy got the green light

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:56 AM

It's young depth but this team appears to have some depth like we haven't seen in some time.

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:54 AM

ESPN2 if you all want to see an early season upset.

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:52 AM

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:40 AM

Our FT defense is spectacular

Showing guys talking about football during a basketball game is a great reason to shrink the screen to 1/3rd

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:30 AM

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:20 AM

I don't get nervous until the last minute

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:14 AM

I expected Martin to have fired up about 5 shots by this time but he hasn't shot yet.

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:11 AM

What happened to Dave? Did he not play in that whole sequence between TO's?

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:10 AM

55 made a great fake shot pass to Harris

Or that's 2 airballs tonight for our shooters. But he made one to make up for it with a sweet stroke

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:08 AM

Who's #55?

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:06 AM

ESPN finding new ways to annoy us with a stupid camera angle.

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 09, 2021 11:56 PM

@BShark Have you declared this game over already?

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 09, 2021 11:56 PM

Let's Geaux JayHawks!

Non-KU Games • Nov 08, 2021 04:04 AM

KU trails Kentucky by only 4 wins now. Remarkable really because it was not nearly that close recently. Not going to go back and figure it out, but I recall it being somewhere in the 30 something range 5-6 years ago.

I see Joey Hauser must have used another year. I know his grandfather from Wisconsin.

Jayhawks in the pros • Nov 06, 2021 03:20 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Thanks, was going to check to see who's playing tonight.

First Impressions from last night • Nov 05, 2021 04:10 AM

@rockchalkjayhawk Although I know nothing about South Park, I get your drift. Keep posting, welcome to the group!

First Impressions from last night • Nov 04, 2021 11:00 PM

I didn't see the first or second half so here's what I didn't see. How the kids looked. How the veterans looked. How the veterans meshed with the kids. Which kids will have a future and which will take the portal option the first time the coach undresses him on the sideline during a game. Did I miss anything?

If I was watching I wanted to see if DaJuan's shot went from looking like a junior high kid to at least looking like a high schooler.

If I was watching I really wanted to see who the next Garrett is going to be. What a loss that is for us.

If I was watching I'd check out BigDaves progress. I'd say he became a dependable big finally last year but will he become a top, all conference/honorable mention AA type kid?

If I was watching and if he was playing I'd be very curious to see how Jalen is becoming a more consistent player. For this team to make the big jump to national prominence we need the Jalen against Kentucky Jalen and not the Jalen against so many other teams Jalen.

But I wasn't watching but I will be watching.

@jayballer67 Athletes in Action is a faith based team that uses college athletes with a mission mindset to use sports to spread the Word. They do have some very highly skilled athletes capable of competing with division I teams in many sports. Not sure if they're still doing the fall exhibition season or not.

@BeddieKU23

"no hope with the ncaa running things" I totally agree but it's just absolutely mind-blowing that we thought the same thing about 19, like lets enjoy this year because the shoe's gonna drop the next. Here we are two years later, heck 3 years from that season and we're still waiting and wondering if we're going to get hammered. AD's must be going bonkers dealing with the NCAA.

ESU Game Thread • Nov 04, 2021 04:02 PM

@DanR Thanks. It seems like most schools have gone that route for their exhibitions so I still wonder what happened to all those barnstorming teams that had an aura of communism around them when they came to play all the blue chips in college gyms across the country.
