UK has some great players in the NBA. Wall, Davis, Towns, Murray, Randle, Kanter, Booker, etc. In fact, they have 14 players averaging double figures. I'd rather not compare our pros to theirs because it aint close. We have 6 in double figures.
@Crimsonorblue22 I look through the stats every once in a while. I used to check religiously, but it got a little depressing to see DNP's or 2 minutes PT for so many of our guys. Glad that Oubre is doing well, even starting now, but on a really crappy Suns team. We just don't produce that many good pro players.
@Fightsongwriter I'm not an expert by any means. I'm not sure how many girls, at least in our country, are abducted into this life. I know worldwide of course many girls are sold, even by parents, into it. There's a lot of things we pray for our kids protection from isn't there?
@KUSTEVE UNC is one of those teams that I don't mind that much. Part of that is the Roy connection and also the Dean Smith connection. That being said, it's also fun to see them go down when they're one of the top dogs unless it's against Duke or Syracuse.
Hearing LSU basketball fans boo would be like me booing at a cricket match. I wouldn't know why to boo but I'd just boo because everyone else is. LSU has a great team, but when they lost to Florida this week, they started dumping their tickets on Stubhub. They went from almost 80$ down to 20$. They're too indifferent to basketball to know that a team that goes into Kentucky and wins is worth supporting. I benefitted a lot of their football only mindset by moving down to the courtside seats that were unoccupied for an unreal view of players like Ben Simmons. I appeared on TV many times at those seats, always wearing my KU hat of course, and even made sportscenter top 10 once.

As much as I'd like to make jokes about this, the world of sex trafficking is so sad that this makes him just another scumbag that victimizes girls and women. While some say live and let live and this is a victimless crime and all that, I see it as an affront to women (and men) everywhere. Most women caught up in this have no way out. They sometimes risk physical harm. They risk being held captive by their pimps. They've been lured, sometimes kidnapped into this life and those who pay for this are contributing to all of that happening. While I hope this story isn't true, I'm doubting the prosecutors are going to charge someone without a lot of evidence.
@jayballer73 We looked very average after losing Doke too. Adjustments have to be made. Hard to expect a team not to look different after losing a player of Zion's caliber midgame.

No offense to anyone here but this board has lost much of my interest this year. Missing jaybate is a major reason why. I still check back out of habit, and appreciate some of the banter, but it's lost its color. I've been home all day for Presidents Day and this is the first time I've looked at it. I remember a couple of years back that @brooksmd left too along with globaljaybird. Some I know keep in touch.
I didn't read everything Jaybate wrote, some of it was outlandish, but goodness, it was entertaining and educational! He was a tireless cheerleader for the Jayhawks, seeing the slightest of silverlining in the darkest cloud.
I guess this is part of the mysterious nature of an online community. We're all anonymous. And when someone goes we're all scratching our heads. Some of you have been part of my life for over a decade! Some of us go back to the KUSports days. Some names are brand new like this week. Life goes on. Hopefully we can keep this thing going. Thanks to @approxinfinity our MVP Techie for everything.

We marvel at Dotson's impressive play as a freshman. One thing we don't talk about is his rebounding. He is averaging nearly 4 a game. That's a solid number. Hope he can get it up to 5 a game which Frank was able to do.

@BShark I can't stand Huggy. I'll give him his due as a coach, but Bruce has had some success too, nearly won a national championship. Drew has had some sporadic success, not impressed with his coaching however.

What's frustrating is there's no way to complain to ESPN. If Walmart screws up I go to the customer service counter and let them have it. ESPN gives no way to complain. I want to complain about ESPN's Duke player power rankings. Have ya'll seen that? Myron Medcalf, but there's no way to send him a message that I can find to tell him why that column is example 1A of ESPN bias. No outlet for our frustrations. I could drive to connecticut and complain I guess. OK, we're finally watching, we've missed a point a minute Jayhawks.
TTech fans aren't even in the stands so why are we forced to watch? @Fightsongwriter Seriously. This is an age old problem. They ought to allot 2:15 for games so less of this happens.
Wouldn't surprise me if they pulled away from our game to go to the Duke game.
Why is this game going so slowly? ESPN really needs to rethink its' scheduling. It's happening to silo tech as well. The cheapskates at that network started charging for their ESPN3 platform. I already pay for ESPN but they want to charge me again. Of course our game started 8 minutes late so whoever is waiting to play at 5 will have to wait for us to finish. I think it's Duke so I hope we go to quadruple OT.
