@focojayhawk Cool! We lived near Madison for 4 years in the late 90's. The Ron Dayne years were good years to become Badger fans! Of course Dick Bennett performed well which led to Bo and I couldn't help but be hooked. I think I've seen you on B5Q. I'm there quite a bit, just a longer screen name than here. I enjoy the commenters here a lot better. Lots of whining and bickering there, especially during football season. Do you ever get out to Badger games?
@justanotherfan I heard a podcast about that several years ago. Interesting concept. I guess the only part of it I don't really care for is the fact that some of the thrilling comebacks that occur, i.e. 2008 as was mentioned, probably don't occur.
Also, Poke a Doke/Hack a Happ might still be a useful strategy because you guess there's less chance of our team scoring two points every time down the floor. If we're losing 62-60 and 63 is the threshold, hack Doke still makes sense. Keeping the other team from shooting a 3 by fouling also becomes a strategy because giving up 1-2 points means the team with 62 comes down the floor and just needs a bucket.
Intentionally missing a FT also might come into play. Now it's 62-61 and Doke makes the first by a miracle. Miss the 2nd on purpose and maybe we strategize how to miss, get an offensive rebound.
@approxinfinity Yeah, that's gonna be tough and when Happ leaves, the Badgers are going to struggle I think.

Good post. 1 question: How do you explain guards not ranked in the 100's, instead in the top 50 like Grimes especially not find immediate success? Moore I believe fits your ranked in the 100's and he obviously doesn't get it.
Question 2 is do you think we can say Ochai has made it? Wouldn't we have said the same thing about Grimes after 1 game? Ochai had two easy alley oop plays and made a 3 pointer. The first oop was impressive but not so much a demonstration of basketball IQ as it was a demonstration of some nice athleticism. If Ochai keeps scoring at the same rate or a little better we'll be pleased I think, but the sample size seems too small to anoint him as one who has gotten it.

OAg with a nice debut. Didn't try to get greedy after early success. Seems pretty level headed.
Speaking of level headed Vick aint. He's fortunate he didn't get T-d up after slapping the ball out of TCU guys hands during a dead ball.
Lawson- Marvelous! His brother too had some nice minutes. Very used to seeing this from DLaw.
We played with a lot of energy tonight leading to a bunch of steals. That probably won the game for us. 20 TO's for TCU is hard to survive as we found out recently.
Some Grime grumbling tonight. I understand, but he'll be fine. Not sure he's going pro anymore after this year and he'll help this program a lot in the future.
DeDot had an off night shooting, but still contributed in other ways.
Garrett is proof you can earn time without a verifiable offensive game. His defense is indispensible to this team.
At Baylor is always fun to make fun of their coach and pull out another win. Let's get this rolling in the right direction!
