@kjayhawks Is there a tournament called that anymore? The island where were last year, Orlando, and Maui have become the biggies in the fall rotation.
Top 3 Big 12 teams all choke away decent leads in the tourney. The long reign of the Big 12 is over.
Jim Larranaga is a bit underrated as a coach.
@kuballin10 Go join Longhornbuckets then
@Texas-Hawk-10 It was the right call too. Ugly game, nothing pretty, I wasted my time watching!
Hard to believe these two teams are playing for the right to meet Florida Atlantic in the Final four.
@mayjay My experience was kind of the same. Part of it was ok, let's get 2 Big 12 teams in the FF and even a chance they play each other in the final. (last time it happened was KU-OU). Part of it is Nowell really put on a show and was fun to watch. But watching them fritter away a lead against a 9 seed had me start to relish the thought.
Does he/she realize how many of us were pulling for their team?
I saw one tweet that was a retweet from last year from a KSU fan who mocked our NC with the "easiest path ever" taunt. Someone pointed out three times in recent years KSU has made it to the elite 8 only to lose to Butler, Loyola, and FAU. 3 golden opportunities to make the FF for the first time since I was born, 1964!
@Crimsonorblue22 No I didn't.
I'm also very capable of changing my tune from above and laugh at KSU for choking against a 9 seed!
@Crimsonorblue22 He's become a household name relatively in this NY tournament he's playing. People are talking about him among my friends and family. I wasn't really aware of him before this weekend.
First game of the year between them and us the little guy had 4 points and 7 assts. 2nd game 23 points, not many dimes. He wouldn't have been a household name just playing us.
This is the kind of game the NCAA needs when all of the major players have been eliminated.
I don't want KSU in the Elite 8 to become a regular thing either.
Entertaining game. Sorry guys and gals, kick me out of the club, I'm pulling for, cough, cough, silo tech. Coach Tang has got me, and goodness, Nowell became a star overnight and he's really dynamic.
The 3 pointer he got fouled on was so savvy. FAU guy reaching in so Nowell decides to go up and shoot knowing his arm is going to get hit.
But Nowell needs to pass more sometimes too. Last drive before the half here evidence. 5'8" guy against a footer rarely goes in the favor of the 5'8" guy.
@kjayhawks I think it goes back to before 1951. I have it on good authority that James Naismith changed an F to a D so one of his players could be eligible on his first KU team.
@AsadZ He's a bit sleazy I think, maybe some coach K wore off on him 30 years ago?
@Texas-Hawk-10 FAU is 52 miles from Miami. Not quite the same as UNC-Duke in the same FF last year, but in a non-basketball crazy state like Florida it's really remarkable.
My Texas FF pick is looking brilliant!
@Texas-Hawk-10 True to form for Xavier.
Changing the subject. Rory hit a driver 346 carry that rolled to a 375 yard pin yesterday left him with a 5 footer which was conceded as it was matchplay. Incredible. Announcer called it maybe the greatest drive in the history of golf.
Texas. Hate Xavier.
Svi started for Charlotte tonight but no Oubre
Jim Larranaga looking good for back to back Elite 8's.
Houston's weak schedule being exposed as a fraudulent 1 seed.
Go Princeton Tigers! There wouldn't be one American other than the team they're playing cheering against Princeton should they continue this run.
The people who get paid with big ratings for the NCAA tournament are maybe getting a little nervous. While it's fun to see the underdogs, they're almost never ratings powerhouses because the casual observer will tune in for a blue blood FF like last year but won't tune in as much for FAU or SD State, or Princeton, or Xavier or even Kstate. Gonzaga will draw eyeballs but they have a tough draw tomorrow.
@cragarhawk The possibility of a KState final is certainly possible at this point.
I'm still amazed at that no defense KSU-MSU game.
John Higgins I just saw reffing a sweet 16 game it looked like.
Nick Saban said Oats did the wrong thing.
@BShark Gotcha. I'm starting to like the Big12's chance for a 3-peat with Texas better and better.
@BShark said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
KSU's incredible luck continues lol
What happened tonight that made you type this? Or was it just last night you're commenting on?
Sad we have to get pleasure out of someone losing but bye bye Bama. I never really had anything against Bama basketball except they were SEC. But their handling of the Miller situation was horrible, even if technically they did nothing wrong, the optics of it was as low as I've ever seen a team go. Good riddance, hope your sorry team fades into obscurity playing in front of 5000 fans for now and eternity.

@Jethro When he was at Cincy, the whole Xavier and Cincy rivalry was ugly and nasty. I tire of coaches that allow their teams to play with a scowl on their face and make it their hallmark. Cronin and Mack seemed to have a sideshow every time they played.
I'm always glad to see Cronin lose. When he joins the mid major league aka the Big 10 he'll go to the top of my least liked coaches list.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Did you hear the announcer kiss Dukes behind talking about Tennessee defeating Dukes awesome defense?
UCLA looking like they'll fit right into the BIG by choking in the NCAA tournament!
@dylans Yeah, I'm not too worried about Cincinnati
That's a great hire by ND. He's by all appearances a really good guy. Doesn't get all hot and bothered by every ticky tack not called and is a great interview. Most importantly he appears to have the coaching part down pat.
Tuesday Badgers beat Oregon in front of 3-4000 fans in Oregon. UW had 10000+ (Badgers drew more Sunday than the biggest home crowd of the season for Oregon when UCLA came to town) Sunday afternoon against Liberty and Dana Altman was not pleased at all and said if he's the problem then they should fire him. Fans want him gone, which is absurd, do they remember 2017? So I'm not sure if his seat is hot, but he'd be a real good get for someone like Penn St.
With Zach leaving, and Wisconsin needing a big I'm wondering if you all think he'd do well in Greg Gard's system?
First time ever I'm following the NIT and tonight Utah Valley knocked off Cincy. I recall them surprising us back in December as the were a feisty squad. They had a great home crowd at their stadium.
@benshawks08 No, but I do wish Arkansas was still part of our league. They fit the Big8/12 mold more than other SEC teams because they appreciate basketball and are, when they're good, really pretty good fans of the game.
@BeddieKU23 Yeah, I'm not mad, just disagreeing with you. You're contributions to this message board are A+

Did you enjoy the previous rules that made them sit a year in only 2 sports? Do you just miss the old ways?
This is the era where players have leverage over their own futures. I think we saw enough decades of coaches and the NCAA controlling things with too much power if you ask me.
Yeah I miss the rule where they had to sit. Made them really consider their decisions wisely before committing. It's life. How many times are you going to get hired if you keep switching jobs? Not too many I'd guess because you're going to get asked why have you worked two other jobs in the last 2 years?
I see 'once a Jayhawk always a Jayhawk' comments and I disagree. When you quit on our team, while I wouldn't stop them, I'm not going to remember you as a Jayhawk nearly as much as a guy who gave blood sweat and tears towards the success of the program.
So go ahead and enjoy the revolving door of college sports. Not me.
I would be for a system that gives players leverage but also allows teams that invest large amounts of money in a kid to make it worth their time to do so as well.
Doke has missed 5 shots all season. 86% This is in 180 minutes of play.
Great production tonight around the league for our guys. Career highs for Och and Doke! Oh Grimes only scored 3
Ya'll really should watch this. 🐦 View Tweet?s=20
The insanity is beginning. I don't even want to keep track of this lunacy. I'm immature and don't like my school so I'm leaving. Wake me up when baseball season is over and I'll see who's on which team. I don't see how anyone can say this is good for college basketball.
@drgnslayr LOL, looked at that bag and then looked at the bag of chips I got out for supper and it's identical!
@BeddieKU23 Yeah, Zach and Bobby, I agree, not even showing enough to really want them still around. But guys like Joe are useful. Maybe he longs for the Drake days where he was the man, or wants another chance playing a more limited roll but maybe winning another national championship.
@BeddieKU23 I know we're desired but it's program players, roll players that are really important too. Those are guys who get 5-10 minutes. Joe Yesufu comes to mind. People saying he gone. He's valuable to our team even though he's not a starter or a star.
Of the teams left who I'd be ok with them winning it'd be Texas, Silo Tech, Tennessee, Gonzaga, MSU, Arkansas (it's always better to say we got knocked out by the eventual champion), FAU, Princeton would be the coolest! Creighton
Teams who I loathe the idea of winning it. Alabama, UConn, Xavier,
Teams I'd be meh about winning UCLA, SD State, Miami
NIT team I'd be cool with winning: Wisconsin!
@AsadZ So if a coach leaves then those players of his and of the team he's moving to are eligible to transfer without sitting a year. Is that a solution? IDK, but some of these teams are like the Pirates of MLB which is now all the power players in the league's farm system. I'd be pissed to be Bob Huggins in developing someone like Tschiebwe and see him move to one of the blue bloods (I know, try to hold back our laughter).
I don't blame Norm. This team wasn't made to make a deep run. The struggles in January exposed our lack of formidability. Did I want to see him do something different from time to time? Yes, but sometimes we also disagree with Bill Self.
I would have liked it if he created some more looks for Gradey for example. I'm a big proponent of 2 fouls in the first half relegates you to the bench. Maybe that decision will haunt us a bit too, but woulda coulda shoulda won't change Saturdays result. It really wasn't the worst loss of our 'career' as Jayhawk fans.
I hate the portal. This idiocy has to stop. Make kids have to sit a year. It never made sense to me why they changed the rules. It's ruining basketball and it's going to cause coaches to leave. Not to sound like an arrogant blue blood fan, but why would a kid get a coveted schollie to KU and then leave?
@cragarhawk No, this is part of my sinister plan. I really enjoy Walton a lot and so I intend to make him the Dick Vitale of this super conference I'm planning!!
