What did Svi do?
Wiggins had some highlights last night. Had a couple of awesome dunks among his 33 points.
This looks more like a top 5 team than last weeks version
No, I quickly sensed Wayne had the hot hand :)
@Crimsonorblue22 Switch from....?
I think Selden's my Hawk to Rock
The Hawk to walk the walk and talk the chalk will be....
KU fans reading the paper again. A ___ year tradition?
Excitement is building.
RCJHKU
It looks like Mario is gone to Memphis. He wasn't playing much in Miami so maybe this will help him to get some more PT.
I like that. The #1 and #2 teams last loss was to Wisconsin, and #3 is KU!
@Makeshift If he had seen spelling mistakes, grammar errors, random meth mentions, references to my cousin/wife then he could have assumed I was from Missouri.
@JayHawkFanToo You could have written that without the "once again" comment like I'm a little slow or something. I don't read everything written here or elsewhere Thanks.
Believe me when I say this is not a slam against Skal Labwhatever, but..... A kid gets a post Haiti earthquake ticket to the United States and has a "handler" set up a fake high school so he can play his senior year, and the NCAA says he's ok, but they can't say a young man who apparently is fluent in four languages is eligible? I know we don't know all the facts, but did UK/$ECnetwork/E$PN throw their influen$e around $o $kal could play hoop$ thi$ $ea$on?
1992?
What about the 1986 Final four? 28 fouls against us and 13 against Duke. This goes back 30 years?
I think Coach is still having nightmares from 2011 when we shot a ton of 3's and made barely any against VCU.
@wrwlumpy What should the campus police have done when they witnessed the N word being used? I'm not arguing that they should use it, but what should have been done?
@JayHawkFanToo I hear the word all day long at work, constantly reminding my students that I'd get fired if I used it.
@konkeyDong They're using Trojans? That's between themselves and their spouses.
I have little understanding of how hacks/worms/viruses/ etc. work. Do these posts compromise our on line security? I'm not going to say it ruins the website for us, but today there's more than ever. Anyone know what the heck is going on, maybe I'll even learn something!
@SoftballDad2011 Thanks for the clarification. Now that you mention that I don't recall what the context was.
Regarding the rule about coaches not calling TO's, I swear the other night while I was at LSU the opposing coach got up and called a TO. I knew this was a new rule. Maybe since it was an exhibition they let it slide?
Speaking of which, I did get to see Ben Simmons in his first collegiate action. The dude can run and pass. Shooting, at least Friday, wasn't that good. But his court vision was something to see.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Either way we win, Gooden or Simien playing.
I always enjoyed watching Mario a lot. His success as a pro was on display here I believe and in my mind he'll be one of my top KU players. I've always just thought of him as a gamer, some one you can count on to not choke. Of course the shot confirmed all that, but even before the shot he was on my short list of KU favorites.
Seeing as the college semester is 2/3rds of the way over why don't they just look at his friggin current grades to see if he's a worthy college student? Unless he's taking Advanced Game Boy,
Principals of Fast Food, Science of Worldstar Hiphop Fights, and Grammar of Instagram, it seems like this ought to be a good way to prove his merits as a one year rent a player.
Not sure about Pierce winning a year later, but had Gooden stuck around, that years team would have been one of the all time greats. I'm still hacked off at him for leaving.
Interestingly, Danny stuck around when all logic said to leave and of course, won.
You don't have Chalmers on your list? Did you forget him or not really care for him since he left early?
Speaking of Darnell, I was in Robinson Gym one day when I should have been studying (which was like every day I was at KU) and I think I was just waiting to get in a game. Well this stranger comes up and asks me to rebound his shots as he was practicing his shooting. I thought it was kind of strange, (because I didn't recognize him) but said OK and then he introduced himself as Darnell. This was years later in his career as he was trying to hang on.
@Crimsonorblue22 Wiggs on fire in the first half! That spin move dunk was sweet! I still wish the Bulls had won!
I like to think of them as TOADS. I haven't figured out what the T stands for, but it won't be nice.
@jaybate-1.0 Last year you kept calling these same trends bad ball. So this is what it's gonna be this year?
In some ways I feel like we know what we're gonna get from our juniors and seniors and from our coach and therefore we're gonna have another unsatisfying season, at least from a March standpoint. None of those guys were superstars last year, we shouldn't expect them to be superstars this year, correct?
It's always funny to me that a team gets everyone back from a team that finished weakly and we say, great we've got an experienced team coming back, well an experienced team that wasn't that great to begin with.
I'll say this about the game. I watched half heartedly. The long October of baseball watching had me in a little bit of sports burnout, so while I had the game on the laptop I watched Law/order svu with my wife like we always do on Wednesdays, except for the last month because I was watching baseball. The game had very few moments that I saw that made me think this team was going to be any different than the last two editions.
Wisconsin's going through the same thing with a 6'11" kid from Denmark. Seems to be a conspiracy against tall foreign dudes.
@brooksmd Thought I could stream Badgers, but I can't, too bad, they're 6-6 from three so far against UW River Falls
@nwhawkfan They just watch their own highlights on youtube all the time!
Trying to figure out how to squeeze KU game, KUbuckets, and UW game on my computer all at the same time!
Maybe this is the result of politically correct kids sports where they don't keep score!
Duh, of course you are!
@brooksmd Yep. You too?
My screen is missing the score for some reason. Anyone else have this problem?
That was a foul on Perry? Really?
we've recruited elite players nearly every year.
This is the perfect schedule for sports for me. I love baseball first and foremost. Doesn't matter who plays, I'll watch til the last out. Then 3 days later, college hoops starts, and when does it end? Opening day!
We're getting double up by Pittsburg st.
Holy Crap, I can't believe it's college basketball season again!
It's obviously a question that never can be answered, but with a well rested bullpen, he could have brought in any reliever even if it was just to get one out. I've seen lots of managers waste bullpens this way, but it would have been appropriate in that situation.
I'm kind of p'd off at the Mets. If Collins had been a better manager Harvey would have been yanked and they'd be playing game 6 right now. I was pulling for the Royals, mainly because of my friends here who supported my Badgers, but I wanted to see a couple more games!
Interestingly I really hated the Royals at the beginning of the season. Ventura's antics were the source of that ire, but watching them mainly in the postseason was a lot of fun to watch.
But come April, I'm a Sox fan and hope to be seeing them in the playoffs against KC!
@Crimsonorblue22 Cool, who is Dayton Moore?
@Crimsonorblue22 Another full page but it wouldn't copy for some reason said "Amazin Disgrace" Got to love the NYPost! It's actually pretty entertaining to read their sports page right now, lots of interesting stuff.
For example the Rangers, ie hockey Rangers, coach said that Cespedes disgraced himself by taking himself out of the game!
Another article ripped on Harvey's "diva saga". He should have ripped the manager for not putting Familia in. I'm kind of irked he didn't because this was a World Series I didn't want to end. Of course I'm no diehard of the Royals, so it's easier to say, but I wanted more baseball, and Collins blew it!
I've cheicked out on the whole situation. If he plays I'll cheick it out. I'm really hoping we have a whole season of Cheick puns, the possibilities are endless.
@brooksmd I watched on stream2watch.com Fox and NBC still are not working here on DirectTV, but only those two channels. Lots of Saints fans around here missed that epic game yesterday too I imagine.
From the NYPost:
No, this 111th World Series — and this 54th edition of the Mets — will forever be remembered by three haunting sentences, at least for the foreseeable future:
Two outs away …
Five outs away …
One out away …
@Crimsonorblue22
I can believe they tore them down. They only tore down the ones in the end zone our football team goes towards right? Why would our pitiful team need goalposts? :) (for you sticklers out there, yes I know the team goes the opposite direction in the 2nd half!)
