I know that winning a Conference Championship doesn't cut it with many of our members, but with what Self has done with a team that is far below our best of our last 10 years is amazing. this has also been done against a conference that has never been better in top to bottom balance. We did it with a breakout Freshman in Kelly, a point guard that became a leader in his Sophomore season, a Mac All-American that has turned into a Reliford type defensive stud and a third year home grown Validictarian that bleeds Crimson and Blue. I'm crossing my fingers for Cliffy, but some how it will all work out.

No one, especially Self, wants Brannen to stop shooting. Self burned the midnight oil for the last Texas game, and missed watching the ISU game to work on Texas again. The team meeting will have a great effect on all the younger players. Perry called the meeting and watching him jaw with the Staters lets me know that he is determined not to be in the class that broke the streak.

Watching the end of last night's game let me go to sleep with a smile. Toughest Conference in America and TCU has won more games in two weeks than they won all of last year in the Conference.
We all feel much better with ISU losing at home. It is nice to have a second chance so let's TCB!

Back to Business. Saturday, we found out that Perry Ellis does have emotions when he smiled after a one handed Ally Oop Dunk. Monday night we got to see another side of the Valedictorian. After tearing up the Wildcats in the first half, Weber changed his defense to stop Perry with Man Handling one on one and when Perry did get the ball, a triple team for a pass out to the three point shooters. After putting up with this over agressiveness, and finally getting a foul called he informed his opponent that his "Mother Cooks Socks in Hell."
Have all the broken TV's been replaced?

@drgnslayr I can remember in Ahearn when State used to throw dead chickens on the court during Jayhawk introductions. I remember Big Ed Nealy who played 12 years in the NBA using his big fat Butt to knock players to the ground with his screens. They did have to put artificial turf on the football field because the K-State cheerleader kept grazing at Halftime.

The Chalmer's Miracle play that we ran for Greene that was wide open was the first time I have seen that play in two years. We quit running it after every team opened their scouting report practice to stop it. Maybe it is time to bring that play back for He, Frank, Kelly, Wayne or Svi. I love me a clicking offense and so does Coach. But when your starting Center picks up two fouls in 45 seconds and a third before half time within 50 seconds of coming back in, then things get difficult when there is no big man and the opposing defense concentrates on only the perimeter shooters.
Of all the players on this team, Josh Gibson deserved a better ending than this. I'll take a player like him that cares about Team rather than Marcus Foster who cares about? He probably just said to himself, "I'm out of here anyway, why should I go to a stupid class. who cares, I'm not like Perry Ellis, I'm majoring in basketball." Many good player's have been suspended and have learned their lesson. but when your recidivism rate is higher than your caring about the team, then good riddance.
Bill Self is not going to change his philosophy, so what should we do? On his Championship team, is there anyone, except trading Mason for Robinson that you would replace on that team with someone from this team? Our 3rd string Center was Cole Aldridge. We pay him to lead this team his way. What we've already given up of defense to keep some people in the game for offense has bitten us in the butt several times this year. i.e. the end of the WVU game. When can you remember ever during Bill's tenure losing a game on the defensive end with 8 seconds left?
Ah, Defense. Something that is more important to Bill Self than any other coach, but the thing he must sacrifice to keep certain people in the game.

Jamari had a better year last year when his shooting % was the highest on the team. Last year he screwed up before the game and it cost us. Maybe he'll explode tonight.
