Ellis seems to have improved because he is now getting the ball away from the basket with some isolation to do his Perry thing. I was fascinated by his fake spin move that drew Gibson out to face up with him and Perry then continued to outmaneuver the shorter player to score easily. Give him some space instead of a Thomas Robinson Down low feed and he will score or get fouled. Except for Gibson who does not jump, K-State is not big and this is where Perry shines. He and Niang have the same game and now Self is giving him room to be that guy.

@HighEliteMajor I did see that quote and immediately thought of you and what your reaction would be. Monday night there will be no subterfuge or saving of fresh legs. The Alexander situation is getting weird though with Jamari playing better. I think the problem with the TCU game is that we've been working and thinking about ISU and preparing for them. This game could take ISU put them in a big catch up position. In the meantime WVU keeps smothering other teams.

@Crimsonorblue22 Jaybate once remarked that Self has the luck of a professional gambler that always makes it to the final table. Nino being unable to play brings up some of that luck we've experienced throughout the Title runs. Thomas Robinson never had to play against an injured Blake Griffin, Durant sprained his ankle in the second half of a game where he scored the most points ever against a KU team. I forgot the name of the big guy from Ohio State when they played here. I remember Robinson talking to him before the game that he was unable to play in. It takes a great Coach, great players and a lot of luck to win so many consecutive Championships.
Coach started using the 8 on five full court press drill when Mike Anderson was at Mizzou. Huggy's press will be scouted and I hope we get a lot of dunks because of our breaking it. However, WVU also has the best Point guard in the Big 12 and he will rack up a lot of fouls on who ever guards him. Start stop start stop, so you give him space and he'll shoot a jumper. We just got Bragg, so let's get a point guard like Staten. Cliff looks like he might be back next year.

I am glad that Lucas and Hunter can take credit for helping us, when the Big Dog went back in the dog house and Mari and Perry were riding the pine in foul trouble. They have to be ready when they are called upon. Last night they were. Lucas was active and got to the line where he was great. Mick got some big rebounds, a stuff and a short sweet jumper. Svi was OK until he threw a pass that led a break for TCU.

We have been blessed by the "Save the legs for K State and ISU Gods." Wayne admitted that he was not prepared last year for the savage onslaught dished out by the Big12 on the road. A replay under the basket for several calls showed Ghost Fouls on KU. Self did tell his troops to foul with a 3 point lead at the end and we could not accomplish such a little thing. Coach was way more frustrated and angry than HEM, Slayer and Wissox.
@wissoxfan83 Georgetown is #21 and half of the big 12 is ranked.

TCU on the road is a memory. Some are happy, some are saaaad, whoa oh oh listen to the Music. Before K-State lost Tuesday night, Lunardi had them in the Tournament. They are going through the tough part of the schedule like we are about to do. Last night was a critical win for us and I'm deeply proud of the consecutive titles. I would love a National Championship, we all would, and I don't think our win, though UGLY, will hurt. I am sure that Coach, some say he is "not very good," will use this as a teaching lesson and the time for preparation and practice will make this game a return to the "Three for all" that some are wishing for.

@HighEliteMajor Wayne hit one three, Brannen was covered like a wet wash cloth, Svi hit a guarded three, Frank had a long two. This is what TCU does best. The only thing that was working was that Frank was able to take Anderson on the dribble. We were without a major long range shooter in Kelly. Self played the hand he had. The players made big mistakes in the full court press. Timeouts filled with Self screaming did not do much tonight. WVU will tell you how good TCU's defense is. If you were his Assistant coach you would tell him to put Kelly back in the game. Tell this "Not very good" coach to do it differently. Like I said, this would be ugly and people are going to gripe.
End of first half had Hunter, Lucas And Svi with Devonte and Frank. They were great and kept us in the game. TCU really does have a team ranked third in the nation in defensive shooting %. They were looking like last in free throw shooting.
Kelly sick, Bigs in foul trouble, Mason takes over as the only offense. Lucas and Hunter come through big off the bench. Thank God that TCU is the worst free throw shooting team in the Conference. The way we handled the press makes me worried about WVU.
