I have an opportunity to go to this game and I am looking for some guidance on parking. Can someone advise parking options.
Fox has really improved this year and Kings are doing much better although I hope Mason can still get good PT. On Oubre and Selden I concur they are in a tough spot.
@Kcmatt7 I concur with you, we now need couple of solid arms for bullpen
@justanotherfan I see what you are saying. I feel that Moore is stacking for speed and defense and also using this as an insurance against any injury. Last year Soler missed a lot of time due to injury and Bonifacio got suspended.
Reports are coming that Royals are about to sign Hamilton who was not tendered by Reds, speedy outfielder with 50+ stolen bases in past 4 years. I am hearing a one year contract about $5.5M
Royals now have a crowded outfield with Hamilton, Gordon, Soler, Bonifacio, Phillips and Goodwin. Soler and Bonifacio may compete for DH. I like this addition though, how do others feel.
I wish him the best and full recovery. He is a quality guy both on and off the field.
yeah this is frustrating, coaches need to emphasize this point in practice and tape watching.
@Gorilla72 unfortunately not going although I’m still trying to work around you never know
He played much better in second half, he had several strong moves and rebounded the ball well. If not for his play KU would have gotten an L last night.
In the case of Grimes I am certain he will be back in starting line up. Self and staff will show him the tape and I am confident he will learn from this game.]
I don't see Grimes in the same category as Cliff, Diallo, AW3 - talented players who could not get PT at KU for one reason or the other.
@JayHawkFanToo That's correct, partly because many TN and Louisville fans had left after their game. On a separate note they played the new intro video which gave me goose bumps. KU was the only team that brought cheerleaders and mascot.
My 1st time in Barclays center and it is certainly impressive. The arena was about 2/3rd full and most folks were KU fans. It was so sweet to listen to Rock Chalk chant ant the end.
I feel blessed to be able to watch this game in person. I was extremely disappointed by Grimes. He seemed to be lost from get go and was making bad plays, he was completely out of it. While Marcus was not scoring points, he was still playing with great hustle and energy even in the first half. His D was much better than Grimes.
Self mentioned it in the post game that he decided to start Marcus so he can get players who were playing best, and I agree with him there that overall Marcus was playing much better than Q.
Overall I was really impressed by Dotson. Its hard to tell on TV but watching in real time action the kid is super fast and plays with great intensity the whole time. He is going to be a star.
What will happen to minutes if SDS becomes eligible? I guess it is good problem to have.
@JayHawkFanToo Yes I think so
Wow, really pretty campus, foliage is beautiful.
Hope he can get back and getting good PT
He is looking younger as well, I am certain he is feeling it too, bad news for rest of Big 12
I'd not go for this trade for below reasons:
-
I feel linebacker is of greater need than CB
-
There is still lot of money owed on his contract that will eat up our cap, no room to sign anyone else in an emergency situation/injury.
-
We will need draft picks for protection against losing our own players to FA, we will have several players becoming FAs in 2019 and 2020 so draft picks will be extremely valuable.
Wow, This is amazing
It appears that Jamal Khashoggi, US permanent resident and an international journalist, was brutally killed by KSA hit men in their Istanbul consulate. Saudi leadership has changed the story a few times.
Here in US there is debate on what America should do on this incident. There is tremendous money tied up with Saudis especially in weapon sales which President Trump has openly said that he does not want to jeopardize at any cost, $110B.
How do others feel about this situation.
I am looking forward to next couple of years with young players such as Keller, Junis, Filmmyer, OHearn, Dozier, Lopez, Bonifacio, Phillips. I really like Moose trade. Our pitching is looking a lot better. If we can get couple of studs in the bullpen Royals will be real fun to watch.
US Open final ending was rough, filled with controversy. There have been lot of reaction all over then place by fans, sports media, current and former players.
This was a game where Serena was comprehensively beaten at her own game by a much younger player who won her 1st grand slam. Serena seemed visibly frustrated.
Serena said that she was fighting for women's rights and sexism. She said that she is a victim.
What do folks on this board think?
Was Serena a victim?
I am not surprised by this move and I wish Cunliffe all the best. He appears to be a genuinely nice kid with bright future ahead of him although its a pity that he could not fulfill his dreams here at KU.
LeBron has never won a championship without a Jayhawk. Lakers better keep Svi and Malik on the roster, at least Svi.
@Barney Most watched sport globally
I would not label Bill Self as a "Corrupt" coach although I do find hard to believe that he was totally unaware of everything going on between Adidas, agents and his recruits.
Ned Yost is below average manager and DM has made some bad decisions lately. I hope Moose stays hot. Ideally Royals will be able to get some nice prospects for Moose, Whit, Duda, Herrera and I hope they can find a team willing to trade Kennedy and Hammel.
Ned Yost keeps talking about how he is not looking and wins and losses this year and he wants players to compete and let his younger players play, not sure who is he talking about except for Soler. Everyone else who is playing is not young.
This was supposed to be start of rebuild but Royals roster is 3rd oldest in the league, I say KC bring in some young guns.
Will DM fire Yost or stick with him and for how long?
Dad reminds me of another dad, L Ball
Jake Junis has been impressive in his two starts, has not allowed a run. Overall bullpen has been good except for Maurer.
While its early, after first week and a half, it appears that AL Central will be a close race. Salvy's return will help in run production.
@jaybate-1.0 They beat TT and W VA by double digits in their region. These two teams were in top 3 Big 12 conference which was considered as toughest conference in CBB this year. Look at their margin of victory in every tournament game, I cannot recall such a dominating performance. One must give them due credit.
@Kcmatt7 I think same could apply to Cunliffe, too much talent ahead of him to get meaningful PT
@Kcmatt7 Part of me says to go for it but part of me is keeping a hope that perhaps they can be somewhat competitive.
Royals lost 6-1 to Tigers today, now 0-3 for the season.
Another bullpen mishap, not looking good fellas.
Overall Bill’s body of work is better than Wright. However recently Jay has an upper hand against Bill. I’m sure though that Bill will eventually figure out how to out coach Jay. As a CBB fan I admire Wright’s accomplishments.
I hope he goes to combine without an agent and get feedback from NBA scouts on areas requiring improvement, come back and work his tail off in those areas. This will be best for both Dok and KU.
This is the best motivation for this team, play with a chip.
@Eric-san I fully understand, its frustrating. I have the same problem with KC Star
I feel really bad for Jo Jo, he can't get a break
Hello everyone, Sorry for duplication if this was already shared in another thread, I have not been able to visit the site frequently recently due to work and some personal issues.
I found this article extremely inspiring.
Over the past few years especially after early tourney exits I have blasted coach Self here for his rigid coaching style. However, now I am so happy to see the changes he has made in his approach. I always thought that he was a great coach but now I am a firm believer that Self is an elite coach.
Word on the street is that Royals have signed Moose for 2 year $14.3M contract
@Ralster BG had his issues at KU. I wish outcome would have been different as he had incredible talent. Life is unpredictable and we do not know all details about his life. What caused the addiction. Did he get proper guidance. Was there a support structure around him. Did he get help. He is not at peace with himself but did people around him did their best to guide him on the right path. Lot of unknowns. I am asking fans not to be so harsh and pray for him in that he can turn his life around.
@HighEliteMajor BG is an adult but it is quite possible that he was given the drug when he was a teenager and he is still struggling with addiction.
Beyond BG, on a broader scale drug addiction is a big problem in our society. I am asking not to be so harsh here please.
I wish him well. On the same subject I feel it is our responsibility as a society to help people with drug addiction. We do not know how and when these kids got addicted. These could be our children. Some of these kids were innocent, athletes, good students but somehow got addicted perhaps given a drug by a friend to try it out that became an addiction. I request all KU fans not to bash these kids and keep them in your prayers. That's the least we can do.
@dylans Makes the loss sting even more
Certain individuals in this year's team are in a Phog but we will be fine.
