Dave is limping...
Foot injury that he has had for a bit. Tough, playing through it.
@benshawks08 said in Baylor Game Thread:
Glad heβs getting a real run already today.
No choice with Remy out but it would be great to see him seize this chance.
wow
Bill has some words for Scotty right now
@DCHawker said in Baylor Game Thread:
We are a much better offensive team with many fewer turnovers when we don't run plays for Dave. Spread the floor. Attack the rim. Get open jumpers. Let him focus on getting offensive rebounds and points off put backs and dishes. That's it...
I probably said a few times out Dave just needs to play the Landen Lucas role.
People thought Scotty had turned some kind of coaching corner when he really just had overwhelming talent last year.
@approxinfinity Hope so
@Kcmatt7 said in Baylor Game Thread:
@BShark honestly the only thing this team does at an elite level. But it is ELITE
We need to with how our half court offense can bog down.
Playing in transition after a defensive rebound >>>>
@BeddieKU23 Would be a huge win. Haven't lost back to back games in Lawrence for a loooong time.
@BeddieKU23 Yeah, Tech was missing some pieces when they beat us too. I don't have a ton of confidence in this team against great teams.
A win would be a nice surprise.
@Crimsonorblue22 said in 2022 Recruiting Thread:
@BShark Jalen in the draft? Or transfer?
Last I heard was professional basketball of some sort. I think if he came back to college it would just be staying at KU.
lol
@BeddieKU23 said in 2022 Recruiting Thread:
Out of the 4 guards you listed who do you trust to make a shot from anywhere. Limited bunch imo from what we have seen this yr. Cuffe being an unknown but film on him as a Sophomore was more of a defensive pest with elite athleticism.
If Jalen and Braun don't return then I agree he isn't a need. If one or both leave then it's a different discussion. Shown some really good shooting this year for Sunrise.
The best shooter on this team next yr could be a freshman which I'm not sure is a recipe for success
Believe that Braun will be back.
Hopefully continued development from Dajuan, Bobby and Joe. Bill definitely isn't benching Dajuan and sees Bobby as a big part of the future of the program so I do think we are rolling with those 3 as the rotation for the 2 guard spots.
Next year I think they will have to hang their hat on defense. Might take a bit to be good but I like the athletes we are bringing in.
@Texas-Hawk-10 It's going to be very difficult to add a post player if the roster has Udeh, Zach, KJ, Zuby, Cam Martin and JWill. Just from a numbers perspective that is a lot of post players even if JWill is more of a perimeter post player/big guard. I wouldn't mind adding such a player, but I think it would require processing someone. That Bill didn't try to add this kind of player last off-season to give us anything behind Dave was somewhat baffling.
I do think JWill is still leaving though, from what I have heard.
Cuffe is at a minimum another year away. Will be interesting to see what he decides to do.
Bill talked about wanting to sign 5 in the fall and all the missed targets were guards and for the most part bigger guards. Seems to be something they are after we will have to see if it comes to fruition.
NO COMMENT
@FarmerJayhawk Losing coordinators too.
@BeddieKU23 said in 2022 Recruiting Thread:
Still think we should be after Bobbi Klintmann. Kid can really shoot it at his size. 6"8 with tools to work with.
Don't think we need to fill this position though. I think the only real possible need is another guard.
@FarmerJayhawk said in 2021 Recruiting:
Lololol you really do hate seeing that. For real though, I kind of feel bad for the kid. Waaaaaaay overhyped as a teenager and all the pressure almost made him quit the game. Now it's apparent he peaked super early and has fringe at best NBA measurables. All this before he can buy a lottery ticket.
His arms are soooo short it's almost unreal.
OIC
AHHHH there's more
Self when asked about Yesufu: "I thought he was great. Maybe I've been playing some of the wrong guys. I mean, I'll be honest. That's the Joseph we thought we would have, and I do think he can be instant offense."

Yeah Bill you have to play Joe more
Iβm ready for Remy to go home due to a family emergency
At the very least Joe has to be ahead of Bobby now. Remy won't be back anytime soon.
Ah would you look at that
@Kcmatt7 said in Non-KU Games:
Wow that was one of the weakest flop warnings Iβve seen all season
Staff wanted Tristan back he was not booted. Just to put that on the record if it hasn't been already.
He is basically the same player now in year 3. Just plays a bit more and somewhat more efficient. Counting stats still aren't great because he isn't always engaged as we know.
@Kcmatt7 said in Non-KU Games:
Bryson Williams would score 20ppg for Self
EASILY. Any possession that he wouldn't get a touch Bill would foam off at the mouth.
@Kcmatt7 I did some checking. 19 players saw the floor. 17 had careers in professional basketball.

@Kcmatt7 Julian was a special talent man. He kinda went crazy though.
Some good Jamari dunks
@Kcmatt7 thinking about this now, we've had some fun vertical guys. Jamari had to be up there he could jump to the moon.

@BeddieKU23 I don't remember Dok dribbling off his own foot, but yes, great game overall by those 2.
One of Udoka's greatest attributes is that he completely understood his abilities and didn't really try to dribble much.
I still can see the one time he got a steal at half court and had to dribble down to dunk it.
He had to be so nervous π
Ah yes the point Dok play.
