@jayballer67 Not done, just his knee is still a problem.
This is the company line anyway.

@tundrahok being reported but not officially yet
Likely starters: Harris, CB, Och, JWill, Dave

I think that Remy is done, probably going to apply for a hardship transfer. He'd still - am I wrong? - have another year after this one? If so, it is Harris and Bobby, JCL and Joe time, a backcourt rotation that I would not be against.
I think he is more likely to just end up playing pro ball somewhere.
@rockchalkwyo said in Pre West Virginia Notes:
@BShark if he comes back?
Seems pretty bad apparently.
@Marco said in Pre West Virginia Notes:
So,,, Adams, Braun, Ochai, Bobby and Joe. JCL and Ditch McLightfoot coming off the bench... Hmm. Okay, let's go!
Make no mistake Harris is still going to start and play big minutes. Remy otoh...hard to say when/if he will be back.
Something interesting...
Look at their stats

Remy isn't really demonstrably better. Shooting % extremely close.

I saw on fox sports that remy wasn't playing, unknown reason. Hmmm
Hope people are ready for more Bobby and Joe for the foreseeable future.

Lots of Quad 1 and 2 wins to get in conference play + Kentucky still on the books.
Will be interesting to see if PER's revert back up or this trend is something more concerning
If the current play continues with a healthy Remy I will be concerned.
DESPAIR
@rockchalkwyo said in Bill Self "growth stunter":
I also want to point out that when Frank and Devonte were here, transfer rules and transfer probability was nothing as it is today. Kids want to play more otherwise theyβre out. Self is balancing that as well.
That's why we saw KJ "start" while playing 10 minutes.
If Remy were deserving of 35+ minutes a game, he'd be playing that much. He is not close to Frank, Graham etc
Our two best players are taking the majority of the shots. Talk about stunted growth!
Remy is not an efficient offensive player and never has been. That was always the concern with him and Carr. You don't know how they will translate. Carr has had a similarly rough go of it, being hot and cold.
I like sitting him until he is healthy because he was a net negative against Tech with the scuffed knee. He couldn't even stay on the court without fouling. Self has his faults as does any coach but I wouldn't say he has mis-handled Remy. Just this year there is a far worse case, how much he plays Lightfoot.
Yes he has a system but it doesn't hold back talent. Dotson couldn't shoot and averaged 18 a game as a Sophomore. Remy's problem is that he struggles to get by his man and has a slow/flat release. His last two seasons at ASU he averaged 6 makes a game on 15 and 14 shots a game. That wasn't going to happen here with Ochai back.
@Crimsonorblue22 said in ISU Game Thread:
The reason he's still messing with the lineup is due to all the injuries and failures of the upperclass men. Wilson should be better, even if he can't shoot he should be able to help out in the other phases. I watched the isu/tt game, it was as ugly as ours.
Dave should be better too. I'm sure Bill would love to be playing him more if he could.

@kuballin10 who specifically is leaving and thriving?
It's not a list that exists. Guys that did okay statistically via volume (ie Andrew White) weren't winning.
Having fun with the  I see.
@Jethro Have you been here before with a different username?
Bill thinking to himself "it was all because I played the 3 non-scorers line-up so much".
THATS A DUB
@bskeet said in ISU Game Thread:
God. What has happened to our offense?
Can't get to 60?
Really?
It was pretty good until we played 3 non-scoring players at the same time...
Brutal way to lose
FFS Jalen
I know it went in but I'll take guarded long 2s for ISU
Pfffft. That's a foul if anything.
Dajuan pure ft stroke
What a surprise the line-up with 3 non-scorers is failing to score.

Anyone still pining for Tristan? 1-3 from the floor, mostly invisible tonight.
Not gonna tag you, you know who you are.

63 points gets the win.
I'll take a win against a top 15 team without Remy don't care how it happens.
Like, I get that he doesn't want to for his "pro prospects" but it is what would be best for the team.
JWill can do work at the rim.
lol
Get 44 out of the game now.
3 non scorers in the game. Bless you Bill.
Lol Mitch
Anywhere "above the shoulders" per the rule book actually.
Correct call. Unintentional dangerous contact to the head is still a flagrant.
That should be a foul on ISU lol
Oh boy, the Bobby Dajuan combo again.
Damn
@tundrahok said in ISU Game Thread:
@DanR Wow, thanks. Remy clearly needed to rest that knee. What's up with Zach?
Injured his toe in practice today, it is inflamed/swelling.
@BeddieKU23 said in ISU Game Thread:
We need a pg who can do more then just look to pass.
I think Bobby can get to be a scorer eventually. Dajuan...eh no.
@jessejayhawk said in ISU Game Thread:
@BShark With two blocks???
There is a lot more to defense. ISU could not score when KJ was in. Of course KJ can't play the whole half. Mitch is just limited.
YOOOO JCOLE
defense went to shit when 44 entered
Love to see Cuffe engaged on the bench.
CB wyd?
This tbh
