KU and missing short 2s, it's iconic.

For real.

AFH looks PACKED.

Fran wants OU to win surprising.

Dotson has been playing hurt since forever basically.

@Crimsonorblue22 You have to admit Hutch is pretty rough.

@KirkIsMyHinrich lol

Ref for this game is known for being charge call happy and calling techs for hanging on the rim 0.1 seconds. Wonderful...

Another great Big 12 matchup that is relegated to the obscurity of ESPN-; : Baylor v. WV today at 3. I know it's hard to do, but I'll be rooting for Huggy's team and hoping the the Baylor guards have on off day.

This is...well I'm glad I have ESPN+. At least I'm getting more value than just KU games I guess... Still embarrassing and I'm betting there are many WVU fans that can't watch this game due to poor internet...

CB had a 3 game stretch (KSU, Tenn, Okie Lite) where he had two great games and was taking about 11 shots a game. That might be a bit high but in the 4 games since he is averaging 2.5 shots a game which is almost assuredly too few. And in one of those games he took 5 shots so basically completely invisible in the other 3.

Moss has been good.

End of post.

He is at least not afraid to shoot, that seems to be the biggest problem with CB currently.

@BShark Road construction in Okie land???? That's a rarity.

Ha!

Love those small KS towns though, @Crimsonorblue22 knows. You know you've hit Okie when you see dead armadillos and the admittedly cool Indian tribe license plates.

Bishop Bullwinkle, does OU have a chance today?

Moss starting over CB.

@kjayhawks Last time I was down there I hit some dreadful construction work. One highway was down to one lane each way with a concrete barrier so tight you couldn't open a car door enough to get out I am not joking I wish I was.

@Kcmatt7 Brain worms are freaking powerful man.

Just countless other examples. A friend of mine that also lives in Texas half the year had dental work done in Mexico. The US system is broken. People shouldn't have one medical emergency tank them. Whether they just can't pay, it bankrupts them, majorly has a negative impact on their retirement or kids college fund* etc... It's all backwards as hell.

*god forbid you have to take out student loans, then you are really truly effed

The democratic nominee β€’ Feb 15, 2020 02:31 AM

@FarmerJayhawk look I'm just saying Obama was a very good capitalist lap dog. He had time to even try to increase minimum wage. If you want to some time though, down the line, then sure.

I find it silly that Bloomberg can be a Republican so long and then declare himself a Democrat. That still just slays me so I have to bring it up again. And yes he is a total asshole. Really hope he doesn't buy the nomination.

We might disagree on some stuff like I don't think Bernie is Marx but I usually find you reasonable. To me Marx is insane as is Laffer. There is a sane middle ground. Bernie will not win the nomination though, I'd bet farms on that.

@kjayhawks both sides weaponize social issues while otherwise maintaining the status quo lol.

I will never grow weary of seeing that Jacque Vaughn spin move thru the lane against UCLA. I was in the front row and he came right at me. That was the loudest I ever heard the Fieldhouse. What was your loudest moment in AF?

Related: The 97 and 98 teams are probably the most heartbroken I've been for KU teams. 03 isn't too far off though. All those teams had a bunch of NBA guys that all stayed many years. College basketball will never be like that again.

@Crimsonorblue22 What were you thinking about it?

Next year will be very interesting. Losing our two best players from a team that already struggles to score.

I like next year's squad more from a pure scoring standpoint:

Dotson -> Garrett (downgrade)

Garrett -> Thompson (upgrade)

Ochai -> Also Ochai (upgrade)

Braun -> Braun/Wilson/G-F/Enaruna (upgrade)

Doke -> McCormack (downgrade)

19/20 bench -> 20/21 bench (upgrade) depth! Yay!

Bench should be a pretty big upgrade. Interested to see how Tyon battles for minutes. He does all the things Self demands. Next year more than ever we could see a deeper rotation but will Self do it. We go from Moss, Dave and a barely functional Enaruna to having a bevy of options. How many are all that viable remains to be seen but if the starting line-up is what you suggest in Garrett, Thompson, Agbaji, Braun, Dave... That leaves Tyon, Harris, Jalen, Tristan, Mitch and Silvio all as real bench options. That's pretty deep. The really good news is we should essentially be playing 4 guards but the 4s will have really good size.

I'm not sure Doke to JR McCormack is a straight downgrade in all situations offensively either. Yes Doke is EXTREMELY good at one thing, dunking when in position to do so. We have seen good coaches scheme him out this year. Dave actually being able to hit a jump shot is intriguing and I would expect him to be better than this year with another year of experience under his belt and the offseason to train. I think the bigger loss there will be defensively. Doke is a straight animal on that end this year.

The democratic nominee β€’ Feb 14, 2020 04:10 PM

There is a reason the establishment including the DNC is so afraid of Bernie. I can't see him getting the nomination despite winning primaries.

He would be the first actual liberal president since...well in a long damn time? Obama was basically a Republican if you really think about it. On material grounds, he's as pro-capitalist right wing as they come. His niche exists solely to placate the working class into feeling like they're not losing as much ground as they could be. (So the bottom 80% of households can feel grateful they've only lost like 20% to 40% of their net worth instead of more.) On empty symbolic grounds he's cosmetically different, but that only matters if one is a race-brain justice lord that cares about platitudes and cliches more than who gets a pay raise and who gets a pay cut.

I could go on about Obama with more examples, but I think the point is made. I kinda wonder what Bernie would really be able to do. God forbid there be less profit off of human suffering and basic human rights.

The worst candidate is Bloomberg. He was a long term Republican and now since he put the D next to his name we are supposed to believe he is a liberal? Lol...

Ultimately it doesn't matter who is president*, but I'm still voting and encourage others to do the same.

*in name, since the real presidents are Microsoft, Amazon, Google and Lockheed Martin.

WSU grudge β€’ Feb 14, 2020 03:54 PM

Well I was gonna answer, but there is little point after those two. I will just say still supporting Trump at this point requires a lot of cognitive dissonance, or at least I would hope so because the alternative is even worse.

WSU grudge β€’ Feb 14, 2020 03:18 PM

This all rings hollow from a likely Trump supporter and known racist.

Will the XFL hurt college football? β€’ Feb 14, 2020 04:07 AM

Why would it? Not sure I understand the logic here. It's another pro league and is not competing with cfb for views or talent.

I could be missing something though, wouldn't be the first time.

In the Middle of Nowhere Game Thread β€’ Feb 13, 2020 10:18 PM

I meant in general for KU not within the context of this team. On a classic KU team he would be a nice bench piece until probably his jr year. I do like his game though, he gets it.

In the Middle of Nowhere Game Thread β€’ Feb 13, 2020 07:48 PM

I like Braun but him starting as a freshman is concerning. Part of it, the turnover from last year is purging out bad fits some of which were taken in desperation. I cautioned on KJ and Chuck from the start, Grimes I thought was more athletic.

Tyon and Bryce both look like great fits to me. Tyon had 13 rebounds last night in 25 minutes. JUCO is a bit of a crap shoot but he screams Bill Self player. Athletic, works hard, can't shoot. Bryce I think is athletic enough. Everything else is there and he can score like crazy.

The other two commits...no comment.

Interested to see how recruiting is going forward. Self is at his best when he retains players. Would love to get Tamar Bates and Zach Clemence in 2021. Next year we will get to see a senior and a junior high heavy minute guys starting again. Only one freshman will play, that's exciting to me.
