@FarmerJayhawk buttt juuuco
@benshawks08 I'm just a humble board rat but I've been very impressed with Ochai's defense as well.
Doke, Dot, Marcus and Agbaji are all tremendous defensively and Braun now that he appears to be putting it together could join that group. He has the athletic and mental tools to do it. I was a bit worried about his speed coming in, but that no longer concerns me.
Tristan has had a large statistical impact on D while being clueless, if he ever does totally figure it out he could be amazing. His bigger issue is offense though, where he looks lost.
David is passable on D for a 5 and Moss at least TRIES (cough, Q, cough).
Put it all together and this team is just suffocating.
@BeddieKU23 When I watch them play I can really tell why the staff preferred Braun. He's more athletic and more of a playmaker.
Sam is a guy I thought was very intriguing when he was basically unranked and KU was his only real offer but he is going to need time and improvement to be good at this level. So far he's been a negative offensively based on stats. Maybe not playing within the framework of the team? Idk as I don't watch a ton of Louisville but he is a bit of a chucker.
I thought it would take longer for Braun too, but I am hopeful that he has turned a corner. He looked lost before and now he looks very confident.
@BeddieKU23 Definitely. I just remember the meltdowns (not necessarily here) when this all happened. This less :helicopter: parents the better imo.
@jayballer73 Their fanbase is very done with Prohm lol.
@Crimsonorblue22 KU was about that bad last year. Much tighter group this year. Don't know how much you follow on social media but it is even more apparent based on instagram posts.
Bill is looking like a genius so far. Sam's minutes at Louisville are shrinking as they enter conference play.
Another 10 steals against the Clones. Light work.
@jayballer73 Yes. With who we have signed now and Dotson leaving the roster is exactly full on scholarships.
@BeddieKU23 Agree. His raw point total isn't up but he has been more efficient, slightly better from three and most importantly creating much more for others. 4.2 ast 1.5 to per game which is a better ratio than Dotson.
@BeddieKU23 Improving the defense around him as had a huge trickle down effect too. It's the reason Agbaji plays so much because even when he is off offensively he is bringing it on D which contributes to this elite team defense.
@BeddieKU23 That's his biggest issue for sure, but he is a great athlete and is tenacious.
Bill is always going to talk up players to the media before he gets them but it still stood out to me that Bill told Tyon there is no reason he can't play 25-30 minutes a game next year during recruiting.
Plus it sure seems that Tyon just loves KU. Don't remember the exact article it was in but his JUCO coach said he basically knew it was over from the first time KU visited because it was just different and Tyon's eyes lit up/bugged out when he saw the KU coaches.

Haliburton was terrific against TCU over the weekend. I know it was TCU, I've watched about 4-5 others games and he was as good as advertised. That team is spiraling and KU took him out of his game in the first half and at that point we had already demoralized them to a 20 pt lead. I really don't think that group likes playing with each other and I think Prohm has lost the locker room.
Marcus the glove Garrett.
Why post in this thread if you hate JUCOs, I don't get it.
@BeddieKU23 Thanks, I had been checking his box scores but hadn't for a bit.
@Woodrow Yep, I love it.
Next year he will start and if Silvio doesn't stay he almost won't even have a back-up. Gonna get huge minutes. If he can develop a three ball watch out.
I hope Silvio stays but can understand his frustration.
@dylans Yeah, definitely did not mean to degrade the effort. Nice to see KU return to prominence on that end.
Basically vs last year we have the following changes
Remove headcase Vick
Remove non-athletes/negative defenders Dedric, Q, KJ
Add athletes Braun/Tristan
Add average athlete Moss
The biggest thing to me is removing Dedric and Q. 60 total minutes a game there from non-defenders. It's amazing we were 17th last year.
Worth mentioning last year's 17th would be 47th this year with the same efficiency.
This does go to show how silly DRTG can sometimes be as a stat given that it is somewhat team dependant. Dotson is roughly to my eye slightly better defensively this year. DRTG 18/19 101, DRTG 19/20 87.
@Woodrow Self's teams were always really good at it before, well, the last few years.
Worth noting that in general, defense is waaay up across the board this year, likely due in large part to the three point line being moved back.
David is gonna be a load next year.
Checking in on the FAMU RATTLERS that won in Ames (without Haliburton). They lost a heartbreaker to North Carolina Central 61-45 and lost to North Carolina A&T 97-90.
Texas got dumped on by OU.
@Crimsonorblue22 what a chode
Yellowjackets :eyes:
Fun stat for Prohm I just saw...
9-16 in game decided by 3 points or less.
Looking around the Cloneverse at least one ISU fan was thankful that Bill started doing weird line-ups and such pretty early. This was certainly the game to do it in.
At the game tonight.
@BeddieKU23 Chemistry on this team is MUCH better.
@kjayhawks Give it time.
@kjayhawks Shaka Smart's longhorns would like a word.
In case anyone wants to watch Braun murder Nixon again and again

@BShark Agree on the top 4 and bottom 6.
Kenpom seems to support it too. Did a quick check...
KU 2, Baylor 8, WVU 11, TTU 25
GULF OF MEXICO
TCU 49, OU 53, ISU 55, OSU 56, Texas 65
Um...Um.....
KSU 90

"The parity in this league"
I mean, there is a clear top 4 and bottom 6, is that what they meant? I think within those clusters things are tight. The bottom 6 will NOT challenge the top 4 much if at all though.
All it took was a line-up with two actual walk-ons for ISU to do well.
looool doing a rim pull up down 30
Braun just ended a career

Why is Halliburton in
I mentioned this looool

ISU not only sucks, but they aren't even trying.
Prohm has lost them.
Conditt is Doke level with his shot.
Prohm still has his starters out there. HOWLING.
Funeral is tomorrow.
@Hawk8086 Absolutely love to see it. Not going to be too many chances to rest our studs in league play.
Could it actually get worse though announcers? I don't think it can. ISU is dead.
Bill playing the walk-ons (Silvio, Tristan) already. He's so nice to Prohm.
OKAY DAVID
LOL THESE ANNOUNCERS. HOW CAN YOU BE SO WRONG??!

Tristan with two passes directly to opponents in two games in a row...
He is unplayable against a press
Tristan wyd
@Hawk8086 oob i think
ISU under 40 points with under 8 minutes to go. Our D might be okay.
@FarmerJayhawk TBF Braun did slaughter KS HS hoops. :joy:
@Hawk8086 That will be a mucccchhhhhhh different game. Should be fun though.
