@DanR perfect bod for it. Doesn't look to good tonight, Baylor will eat him up.
Bill will get them ready.

Isaiah Moss
Slop portion of the game.

When Self has a bunch of guys that can finish above the rim you get to see just how good he can scheme, didnt have that last yr
This roster is very athletic. Now to work on shooting. Can't wait for Bryce.
Horrid call against Doke
@DCHawker I was surprised to see Chaminade only had two offensive rebounds. Part of their rebounding edge is because they have 16 turnovers so less opportunities for KU to rebound defensively.

Out-rebounded by the Silver Swords, 14 to 13.
Doke is very bad for his size at rebounding.
This is also a low effort game tbh.
MARC G
Silvio is honestly our best big.
Ochai found the trey
wth Dave
HELLO OCHAI
Isaiah Moss
I honestly can't hate on Walton. Though I am grateful he doesn't do most of our games.
Tristan's jumper keeps him in Lawrence imo

Dok's second foul was a frustration foul because the guards aren't looking to get the ball to him.
I'm tellin ya we need Brady.
Isaiah Moss
Oh hey we hit a three.
Really not sure about that foul on Moss.
@BeddieKU23 Looks that way tbh
Um wtf
I ate Hawaiian pizza tonight, we good.

Great for me not having to see Izzo's face.

Weβre only 36 point favorites so Walton will at least be entertaining
Looks like we should dodge Sparty though VT is going full Memphis at the line.
Edit: Final, VT wins...
As an aside, how absolutely idiotic is it that Kyle Mayberry can't officially comment on his own brother until he signs? The NCAA really is completely moronic.
@HighEliteMajor I mentioned this elsewhere but I gotta say it again... I am very pleased with this development.
Refs are taking over for Duke.
Agbaji in the reverse toughening box? Self is possibly loosening up a bit?
I hope Ochai figures things out.
@Crimsonorblue22 it makes sense to have Ochai play through it, we will need him this year. Agree on Moss.
@Kcmatt7 Really depends on what Enaruna wants to do. I hope he really likes Bill, Lawrence etc
@approxinfinity Moore?
Agbaji's minutes are kind of puzzling but we don't have a ton of options atm. Braun isn't quite ready, Moss is recovering etc... He's still the best option to start imo, he just needs to start making threes again.
@jhawk7782 not a Kansas kid fwiw. He is from Minnesota originally.
Oh no Roy...

New offer. Self was in today. https://t.co/hbOLPbeWa5?amp=1 β
Been wondering if we would tbh.
Outside of Creighton grads Omaha is BIG RED country but they really don't care about hoops so I hope we can pull him.
I REALLY like Khristian Lander but I believe the NOA crap axed us there. He will end up at Indiana or Michigan depending on shoe bid I imagine.
Tristan is one of our best players. I'd put him easily in the top 4 and I think there is a debate for third. He has some lapses of course but his overall impact is remarkable for a FR rated in the 50-70 range. Even last night in scoring just 4 points he had his fingerprints all over the game. 4 assists, 4 steals. His length alone makes him very disruptive defensively. He would be a star his JR year, I hope we get to see it.
I really really wish Dave or Silvio was closer to a 4 than a true center. They both bring good things to the table but Doke has to get big minutes. I really liked Silvio closing the game last night, I hope we see more of that as I don't think we can afford to have Doke in during a close game under 5 minutes or so. Certainly it would have to be heavily managed and once hack a Doke starts you have to remove him.
We need more from Ochai especially if he is going to continue to be in the top 3 for minutes played. He's had two bad games in a row now. The first two games were okay, but not great.
Garrett is pretty average but he is an absolute rock for this team.
I'd like to see a lot more of Moss as he gets healthy.
@Marco I've got a buddy that is now involved with Sunrise. Kendall is a baller and likes KU a lot. I will share any updates on him that I can.

This kid, JWill, Gethro and Jossell all play for the same AAU team. Adidas program and their HC is a long time friend of Bill.

He's athletic, which is nice, but he's also small, so all of my normal complaints about smaller guards apply.
He can shoot it, but at his size, he's going to have to become a primary ball handler. He simply cannot rely only on off ball skills at the collegiate level. That won't cut it because he likely won't be able to guard bigger guys, even with his above average athleticism.
In all honesty, though, I think this kid should be ranked higher. He's small, but he can shoot, he can handle, and he is very athletic for his size. Looking at a couple of the dunks that he has thrown down, I am surprised he is only a three star. I would have pegged him as a low four star based on the eye test. He should be top 150 IMHO, borderline top 100.
Agree he will have to develop into a PG.
The crazy thing to me is that before KU sniffed around and even after up until his commitment this kid was completely unranked. Didn't even have a 24/7 profile. He did have a Rivals profile but 0 stars/ranking. I am not saying this is a huge miss like Burke, Oladipo, Morant etc because he is not on that level but to be completely unranked was shocking to me.
@drgnslayr Speaks to Self's scouting ability though.
They wrote a song about this new lean Doke

@BShark Heck, weβve had Charlie Moore.
Whitman and McBride didn't even make it to the exhibitions. Then there was Evan Maxwell...
I'd be shocked if Jossell did anything but RS next year. This class and only Dotson leaving early would be pretty nice.

Not going to lose sleep over it. Heβs got some tools. Not going to have 13 top 100 guys. Even dook and UK have practice bodies at the end of the bench.
Jordan Goldwire even gets minutes for Duke.

@BShark time in a bottle? I love Motown too.
That one cuts deeeeeep.
I do enjoy his faster songs as well.
@HighEliteMajor We've had worse at the 13th scholarship before but yeah, will be interesting to see if he sticks around.
Jim Croce has some absolute bangers too @Crimsonorblue22

@RockChalkinTexas Beatles! My fav!
Beatles are alright. I grew up on Motown mostly. Temptations, Aretha, The Supremes, Four Tops, Marvin Gaye etc...
Still enjoy those as well as a lot of folksy stuff.
I know many many bands/songs of the era in general. Lots of one hit wonders.
Little later but this song is a personal favorite:

@RockChalkinTexas Same graduation year as my mom.
