@approxinfinity I think this will need to be a bigger class than last year. Plus the timing of the FBI stuff and rumors swirling hurt a lot. 2018 was a big class when needed, 20 needs to be big and typically Bill does his best work in these spots.

Good idea @Kcmatt7

And let's try to not post in/clutter this thread. The OP should be right there when opened. If you have suggestion either message me or discuss in the recruiting thread.

Also I am sure we are still recruiting Scottie Barnes and some others super hard or something, but I am not listing players KU has absolutely no chance to get.

July 16 Update Notes: Harris committed and joined the 2019 class so he was removed. Cam'ron Fletcher cut to 5 and KU didn't make it so he was removed.

Aug 27 Update: Moved Caleb Love down to big target. Removed Daishen Nix who committed to UCLA. Removed RJ Davis and Josh Hall who appear to be trending in other directions. Added Javonte Brown-Ferguson, Moses Moody and JT Thor since he reclassified.

Sept 27 Update:

@BShark Mason 76, Graham 36. Seems to be the sweet spot.

Both had major KU bumps.

Also this. 24/7 shows national ranking history thankfully. When KU started recruiting Graham he was ranked #196.

2020 Recruiting • Jul 16, 2019 01:03 PM

30-39

2017

Still in school: Silvio, John Petty (barely), Paul Scruggs, Chaundee Brown, Ethan Thompson

Gone: Jalek Felton, SGA, Lindell Wigginton, Brandon Randolph, Daniel Gafford

2016

SR: Cassius Winston, Alterique Gilbert, Udoka

Left after JR year: Tyus Battle, Kyle Guy

Left before that: Zach Collins, Lauri Markannen

LOL: Cunliffe, Javin DeLaurier

The 2017 guys could still leave before their senior year of course. I bet at a minimum Silvio does. It's a crapshoot.

@dylans Mostly posting this as a reminder to myself for later since I'm about to go to sleep.

Interesting range of 30-80. I'm curious now how many kids in that range do stay 3-4 years. I'll do breakdowns tomorrow over the last few classes that apply (so starting with 2017) and tackling each group of 10 (30-39, 40-49 etc) and seeing the percentages. My gut instinct would be not a lot in the 30-50 range are there 4 years.

Reclassifying to redshirt is kinda funny. Hurry up and wait.

Better to have him in Lawrence than Wichita.

He played a lot look at the box scores. Great glue guard think Brady or Russ.

Great news.

Sounds like jayballer is torn on this kid. He's gonna wait and watch his offers blow up but also not worthy of the 13th scholarship. Really makes you think. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@approxinfinity u mean till end of game? I didn’t see much of him either but I was in and out. Didn’t know til end he was guy in head band. Nothing impressive to me🤔

He reminds me of a point guard who I am not gonna name but @HighEliteMajor remembers super fondly. Feeds the post like a boss.

2020 Recruiting • Jul 14, 2019 05:57 PM

Apparently Mane is eligible for the 2020 draft. Knowing that, I'd stay away.

2020 Recruiting • Jul 14, 2019 05:55 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Agree. Corey Evans posted contradictory info with KK. Honestly, might make me feel even better about our chances LOL.

This is from the Arkansas board so tifwiw but they mostly believe KU is the leader for KK Robinson.

Mokan is in the finals at Peach Jam.

Zion thread... or not • Jul 13, 2019 09:57 PM

@justanotherfan The bright side is last year's team with Doke was really damn good even if Lawson and Doke rarely both had a good game together.

I have a lot of the same line-up and fit concerns. Need to see how Self ends up playing it.

2020 Recruiting • Jul 13, 2019 07:09 PM

This is from Bossi

THE EYE OPENER

DAJUAN HARRIS

Why him?: MoKan Elite has made what is becoming an annual trip to the quarterfinals at the Peach Jam and the jet quick passer and floor general had an awful lot to do with it. He's as good a passer as there is in the country and he proved to be a legit high major option with his ability to lead, control pace, defend at the point of attack and ultimately lead his team to a win. This guy doesn't care about stats, he just cares about winning.

Recruitment: Signed with Missouri State in the class of 2019 but has reopened his recruitment and mentioned interest from Missouri and Texas with a Kansas offer.

2020 Recruiting • Jul 13, 2019 07:06 PM

Looking at Peach Jam box scores 4 of the 6 Mokan games are up

Dajuan Harris has had these stat lines PTS AST REB STL

4/7/2/2 2-4 shooting

13/10/9/3 5-10 shooting

4/6/2/1 on 1-2 shooting

5/8/4/3 on 2-5 shooting

Definitely seems like a guy that is pass first and really picks his spots to actually shoot. 31 AST vs 10 turnovers.

Mokan won this morning advancing to the semi-finals, that box score isn't up on their site yet.

So Bill is 3-4 vs Izzo since coming to KU after starting 0-3. Interesting.

@BShark LOL. LL is on his Jamari list, isn't he?

Something like that.

2020 Recruiting • Jul 12, 2019 10:05 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Avoid the death penalty and land 2 out of the 4 you mentioned and KU will be really good again.

@KUSTEVE Just bracing for impact from HEM.

KUSTEVE said:

When they put LL in the starting lineup his junior year, we went 17-1 with him in the lineup. Many fans were hollering about it, but it proved to be the best move by far.

Here we go again.

@FarmerJayhawk Good to hear. Seems like the staff is taking Thompson very seriously and not banking on the connection.

Good info on Harris. Is the plan still to announce next week?

bcjayhawk said:

Notwithstanding what others thought and said during his tenure, I loved LL. He wasn't the most talented nor the most athletic, but his hear is trophy-worthy.

Very nice letter!! LL just elevated a few notches on my favorite Jayhawks list.

As a guy, he's always been near the top for me. He gave it his all he was just limited athletically.

Oddly, I found a letter from a OAD - it's sentiments are pretty similar:

Deer fans of wutevah skool it was that i was forsed to uttend for one year afore i kood leaf and make muh millyuns,
Tank yoo fore cheering for ME. MY stutisticks was purty good that year (but i held back so i ditnt git hurt and loose a lot of money). It was fun. @rockchalkwyo Just word of mouth. Also noticed back when and after Braun committed to us that he and Harris engaged with each other a lot on twitter. I then looked into Harris at the time and saw he was committed to Missouri State so I didn't think he would enter the equation for KU.

I can live with those qualities. I'm not jumping up and down seeing that video but if he's improved a bunch from that, I'd rather use the scholarship then hold it. We're one Dotson injury from the sky is falling.

Yep. Plus it seems he is really close with CB. Would be the third MoKan kid recently after none for a long time.

I think he is firmly a RS guy but better to get him on campus and in the KU/Self program for a year than stash him at Sunrise. Like even if Dot gets injured (PLZ NO) I don't think he would play next year.

Walker denies interest in playing overseas this year but we all know how denials go. Probably a lot of truth to him not having the grades to stay home and enroll somewhere.

So done with him already. W/e

Video posted here was from last March.

To me, he looks like he has decent arm length for his size. He finishes well in the lane with both hands. He absolutely can jump. In one of the newer videos he dunks from almost being flat footed.

I'd also rather get another PG in here now instead of hoping we land a big name next season and end up settling for someone almost exactly like him to be the backup next year. Get someone in now that can learn the system for a full season. Who's to say he won't push McBride out of the backup role? AND literally the worst case scenario is that he gets here, realizes he doesn't belong, and transfers out. This is a no lose situation from my point of view.

You really hit on the knoggin here. No risk. Get the guy in if he wants and see what he's made of. In today's landscape if he doesn't fit he'll move on

The word you always see on him is "tough", "leader" and "winner". Makes others better etc...

He's a guy you redshirt that is a pain in the ass for other teams as a JR/SR. Also friends with Braun I believe.

Yeah I get wanting to make it in the NBA but he could be a stud overseas. I think defense is the biggest issue. His minutes went down by a lot year two. :/
